If it is okay with the party, Haela wants to suggest that anything the party finds in the Reliquary - which Gorm has said we can keep - is going to be either used by the party or sold here in Kraggodan. We're not going to be selling sacred Dwarven relics in the outside world.

Haela takes the time to instruct the others in the proper etiquette. Do they wait until their host asks them to sit down, or do they wait for her to actually sit? That is, assuming that Colga is present. Do they serve themselves, or rely on the servants? What are appropriate topics of conversation? She knows the basics of social graces in Kraggodan, and makes sure that the surface-worlders make no excessive faux pas.

"Thank you for this, Colga. You didn't have to go through all this trouble. It is a reflection on your clan's prosperity that you are able to offer such generous fare to humble travelers."

The heroes' report about the Dwarven runes surrounding the archway is another mystery. Why would a device of the hobgoblins bear the language of their sworn enemy?

As luck would have it, an unsung hero had made her appearance during the siege. A dwarf by the name of Haela Sturm had appeared on the far side of the Marideth River and helped the small outpost tasked with keeping the hobgoblins from attacking from that side.

She had been traveling to Longshadow to recruit her cousin Rutra to return with her to Kraggodan. Her news from the dwarven stronghold is not good -- the expansionist nation of Molthune has sent an army to blockade Kraggodan and the dwarves are reaching out for allies.

Her timely arrival helped repel a force of hobgoblin saboteurs who had hoped to quietly cross the river while the bulk of the forces were focused on repelling the assault against the city's walls.

Her heroism was unfortunately met with grim news -- her cousin was, of course, dead from hobgoblin assassins days before her arrival.

So Haela is actually from Kraggodan, and kin to Rutra. I had forgotten.

"It's good to be back," says Haela. She had been away from Kraggodan for many years, such as when she was teaching a young Benedict the finer points of warfare in Absalom. Was it fifteen years now? But she had kept in contact and known about the siege.

Much looked the same. Dwarves were not keen to remodel their cities frequently or needlessly. And there was a subdued energy to the Sky Citadel due to the siege and impact to trade, but Haela thought that maybe only a dwarf would notice. Well, Benedict might notice. The kid had a way of figuring out people. He also seemed to be finally figuring out how to hold the axe, which was a relief. The rest of them were a good bunch too, even the half-orc. I should probably say something...

"I will vouch for Grum if need be," she blurts out.

Haela goes back into her thoughts as she walks through the Sky Citadel.
"I should like to pay a visit to my family, and to Rutra's, but I would choose to stay with my companions in Clan Greathammer's estate. I strongly doubt that the Ironfang Legion could reach us here, but in case they have some tricks that we're not aware of, I think it better for us to remain together as much as possible."

Since Haela is from here, what is the custom on bringing gifts to a host? It is regarded as polite or insulting? If the former, are there specific gifts considered to be particularly respectful?
