Male Tellarite Operations Manager
GM SuperTumbler wrote:
Tira sits up in her bed, looking dizzy for a moment before huffing and standing up. She places a hand on Gullerg's forearm for balance. "I have a lab, not so different from the one you are used to. It is configured for biology, but the consoles can be reconfigured easily enough. I'll take you. And before you say anything about how I am too sick, it doesn't matter how sick I am if we can't get this thing under control."

Gullerg can't avoid but smile, as he wanted Tira to join him. He makes his best effort to help her stand and walk.

"I won't say anything, as I still remember how... firm... you can be. And I am glad to have you around. I could use your mind."
They work as best as they can, together with Xin-Yalix, to find some sense of this strange infection.
I think this talent can apply:
* Technical Expertise: Whenever you attempt a Task assisted by the ship’s Computers or Sensors, you may re-roll one d20 (which may be the ship’s die).
He will roll using Reason 10 + Science 3 = 13
And he will examine the effect of the tetryon radiation on the virus and the metallic lines on the infected.

Gullerg Roll (13): 2d20 ⇒ (6, 15) = 21
Amity Roll: 1d20 ⇒ 10
He can reroll one die, the one that failed.
Gullerg Reroll (13): 1d20 ⇒ 9

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

Gullerg excuses himself from Tira, and stands at attention at the captain's orders.
"Aye captain!"
He can't avoid looking at his hands, waiting to see cables and metal parts starting to sprout from his skin.
He doesn't like the idea.
He goes back to Tira.
"Tira, do you know a good place for me to work? With equipment and sensors? I think this situation calls for us to commandeer the best infrastructure, and recruit the best people we can find on the planet."

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

On my part, I feel like Gullerg didn't got some follow up to his post, see his last post.

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

Yes, you would think so...

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

Me too

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

For my part I feel somewhat left out.

Male Tellarite Operations Manager
Tira wrote:
"No, Gullerg. I came here to get away from all of that. Here there is just work. A neverending array of plant and insect life."

Gullerg is incapable of hiding his relief at hearing her answer.

"Good... good... well, when you are up and about again, I would love to accompany you on your first meal! Even better, want to join me and know my ship? I can give you a tour, and we can have a good chat and meal there."

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

Gullerg huffs, unsure of why isn't everyone alarmed about the filaments.
"Tira, I am glad to see you. Besides the sickness, how have you been?"
He is unable to restrain himself.
"Did you get married? Did you had children?"

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

How did the metallic filaments get there, did they grow inside her?
Can the metallic filaments be removed? How?
The filaments generate power, draw power, or are passive?
On the other hand, can Gullerg use his Obtain Information Momentum? What does he need to roll?
Incisive Scrutiny Talent You have a knack for finding weak spots in arguments, theories, and machines alike to glean information from them, learning about things by how they respond to pressure against vulnerable points. When you succeed at a Task using Control or Insight, you gain one bonus Momentum, which may only be used for the Obtain Information Momentum Spend.

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

Gullerg huffs, not liking that metal piece.
"I don't know. Let me check it."
He gets out his tricorder and analyzes it.
Rolling Insight (9) + Science(3) again.
I think his Incisive Scrutiny Talent You have a knack for finding weak spots in arguments, theories, and machines alike to glean information from them, learning about things by how they respond to pressure against vulnerable points. When you succeed at a Task using Control or Insight, you gain one bonus Momentum, which may only be used for the Obtain Information Momentum Spend.

Gullerg Roll (12): 2d20 ⇒ (12, 9) = 21

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

Does Gullerg gets something out of his rolls? Or just that?
Does Tira answer him?

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

Gullerg takes her hand and nods at her.
"I'll get your doctors a bottle of the best Andorian Whisky I can find! I am so glad you are fine!"
When he notices the silver line he examines it.
"Tira, what is this?"
In case a roll is needed, how about Insight (9) + Science(3)?
Gullerg Roll (12): 2d20 ⇒ (6, 12) = 18

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

Gullerg gets pale as a Ghost, and approach her without worrying about getting infected. He gets next to her and takes her hand.
"Tira! You are sick! How do you feel? What have the doctors tell you?"

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

Thanks. Let's say Gullerg remembers her from a long time ago, and he might be mistaken/forgotten important information or be right on the spot. You know, you think you ended with her in the best of terms, and she loathes you. Or vice-versa. What he remembers is:
She is a Xenobiologist.
He almost married her.
She didn't want to have a long-distance relationship and dumped him when he left for Starfleet.
Maybe Gullerg doesn't accept it, but even as he have had some relationships, they have been shallow and quick. She was the one for him, and he had never forgotten her.
Personality Traits (that he thinks):
- Brave
- Stubborn
- Puts her head over her heart.
Now... is she sick? Or does she seems healthy?

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

When seeing Sobek and the away team, Gullerg calls Aytthi.
"Captain, permission to join the away team? I would like to help the Tellerite colonists if able."

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

Gullerg talks to the captain.
"Captain, I will go to the transport room to supervise the transfer of the supplies, if it is ok with you."
If allowed, we will go mumbling on his way curses towards the Orion's, taking advantage of the Tellerite suffering for their benefit.

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

Gullerg feels very emotional at the sight of the Tellerite world. He hopes they are in time to minimize the suffering of the colonists.

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

Gullerg will transport the Nausicaan onboard so the captain can interrogate him.
Control+Engineering Task assisted by ship Sensors+Engineering.
Gullerg's Control 10 + Engineering 4 = 14
Ship's Sensors 8 + Engineering 3 = 11
I think his Technical Expertise Talent applies: Whenever you attempt a Task assisted by the ship’s Computers or Sensors, you may re-roll one d20 (which may be the ship’s die).

Gullerg's dice (14): 2d20 ⇒ (5, 5) = 10
Ships's dice (11): 1d20 ⇒ 9

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

To give assistance, of course. I love to be federation!

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

Gullerg tries to get more power from the engines, to be ready if that is needed.
"Team Delta, align the plasma conduits. Team Gamma, ready to monitor and control the core."
Gullerg will do POWER MANAGEMENT: The officer reroutes power
from various systems, replenishing reserves or freeing up power for other uses. This requires a Daring or Control + Engineering Task with a Difficulty of 2, which can Succeed at Cost. On success, the ship gains one point of Power, plus one additional Power per Momentum spent (Repeatable), which may exceed its normal maximum. Complications should represent power being removed from particular systems, increasing the Difficulty of future Tasks, or removing options until systems are repowered.
he will use his A Little More Power Talent: Whenever you succeed at an Engineering Task aboard your own ship, you may spend one Momentum to regain one spent Power.
I think his Power systems focus applies.
Control 10 + Engineering 4 = 14.

Gullerg Roll (14): 2d20 ⇒ (5, 13) = 18
Not enough... Can he spend a momentum to reroll? Or does he gets a ship roll?

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

Is there something Gullerg can do to help?

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

Gullerg goes to the bridge and restores power.

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

Gullerg lets out an expletive not fit for a Starfleet officer. Without another word, he leaves the transporter room and goes to start with the repairs, together with his boys.
I think he can start with the "Restore Minor Action". What does he needs to roll?

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

Only one guest for now...

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

Gullerg will move with Sobek and his security team, and when they are ready, and the ship is in position, he will inform the bridge.
"Captain, we are ready for transporting a guest."
When the captain gives the go-ahead, Gullerg will transport the target he considers most probable to be the captain of the ship, based of the layout of ships he knows about.
Assuming you are in a transporter room bringing something from the freighter onto your ship (its shields are down, so no problem there) it will be a Difficulty 2 Control+Engineering Task assisted by ship Sensors+Engineering.
Gullerg's Control 10 + Engineering 4 = 14
Ship's Sensors 8 + Engineering 3 = 11
I think his [b]Technical Expertise[b] Talent applies: Whenever you attempt a Task assisted by the ship’s Computers or Sensors, you may re-roll one d20 (which may be the ship’s die).

Gullerg's dice (14): 2d20 ⇒ (5, 2) = 7
Ships's dice (11): 1d20 ⇒ 7
I think all of those are successes!

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

"Captain, that is a disguised ship! This is a trap!"

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

Gullerg scans the Erie for engine and power status, planning on the repairs his team will need to do to stabilize her.
He has Technical Expertise: Whenever you attempt a Task assisted by the ship’s Computers or Sensors, you may re-roll one d20 (which may be the ship’s die).
Will use Insight 9 + Engineering 4 for the roll.
For the Amity roll, I am using Sensors 8 + Engineering 3.
I think Focus Power Systems applies?

Gullerg Rolls (13): 2d20 ⇒ (5, 18) = 23
Ship Roll (11): 1d20 ⇒ 17
Rerolling for Gullerg.
Gullerg Reroll (13): 1d20 ⇒ 8
2 successes

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

Gullerg steels himself for whatever comes.

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

Gullerg makes sure the shields and the transporters are working properly.

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

Gullerg huffs.
It doesn't matter if it is a trap, or if it will delay their arrival to the sick world. They, as Starfleet, will need to go and check the distress call.

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

I need to learn the system better. That is my only take.
The game is going fine, thanks.

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

Gullerg makes "the rounds" (as they are called) by visiting all of the engineering team in its workstations, spending a couple of minutes with each, complimenting them for their effort, and checking their needs and giving them guidance and advice while checking all of the ship systems are in order.
After finishing he will go to the lab to check how the medicine production is going, thinking in all the tellerites that needs it.

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

Gullerg screams!
"I had just started those! Can you keep those engines alone!"
He quickly proceeds to fix them.
He will do the restore minor action.
I guess is Control 10 + Engineering 4 again, with Focus Power systems applying. He also has:
* A Little More Power: Whenever you succeed at an Engineering Task aboard your own ship, you may spend one Momentum to regain one spent Power.
Does that apply here?

Gullerg Roll (14): 2d20 ⇒ (3, 2) = 5
Nice!
"Captain, the Engines breach has been repaired, I suggest to avoid the Klingons to damage our ship anymore."

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

I hope that success means we got the engines running at last!

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

Gullerg shakes his head.
"I am getting too old for this."
He steadies himself and talks to the captain.
"Aye captain!"
He looks at his team.
"No more time for slow or steady. Now it is time for fast"
"You heard the captain boys. Let give the Klingons a surprise!"
Now it's the time to try that "cold start" he has heard so much about.
Control 10 + Engineering 4
I guess his focus keeps applying.

Gullerg Rolls (14): 2d20 ⇒ (16, 12) = 28
Challenge Dice vs Extended Task: 6d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 6, 5, 1, 1) = 24

Male Tellarite Operations Manager
GM SuperTumbler wrote:

That's right. The 3 should be 2 Successes. So 3 total, for 1 Momentum. Plus 1 more from the Captain.

You guys can decide if you want to spend that Momentum, but let's hold off on more rolls until K'rist, Sobek, and Xin can post.

Huzza! Can he spend 1 momentum to recude the tim ein half, and keep the other "in reserve"?

Male Tellarite Operations Manager
GM SuperTumbler wrote:
Successes come from the Task roll, not the challenge dice. Two Successes from that roll. Challenge dice give you 5=1, 1=1, 2=2, 5=1, 5=1. Total 6 Work. So another Breakthrough. And total Work from both checks of 10.

As he has Focus in those technologies does he gets more succeses with the 3 roll?

Male Tellarite Operations Manager
GM SuperTumbler wrote:
Gullerg, go ahead and make another Task check. It could be Control, Daring, or Reason+Engineering, depending on how you want to flavor it. Difficulty 2 this time because the Breakthrough lowered it.

Gullerg cleans some sweat from his forehead. He recites the mantra of the day in his mind.

"Slow is steady, steady is sure, sure is fast."
He looks back at his team and smiles. They are under pressure, but working as one, sure, methodic, careful.
"Slow is steady, steady is sure, sure is fast."
He moves ahead with the next step, trying to expedite the procedure by doing several steps at once, knowing that they didn't impact each other.
"Advantages of the experience."
Control 10 + Engineering 4
Gullerg Rolls (14): 2d20 ⇒ (3, 13) = 16
Challenge Dice
Challenge Dice vs Extended Task: 6d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 1, 2, 5, 5) = 21
That is 5 successes? With difficulty 2 means he gets 3 momentum? Can he reduce the difficulty to 1, half the time and also "keep" one momentum for the next check?

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

Nice! There are some things there I could use!

Male Tellarite Operations Manager
GM SuperTumbler wrote:

[ooc]You generated 1 Momentum. You can use that Momentum for a few things here. Your check will take two intervals of 5 minutes each. 1 Momentum will reduce that to 5 minutes. Then you attempt a new Task. Or you can spend 1 Momentum to do one more Work. That will total 5, which would give you a Breakthrough. The good thing about a Breakthrough is that it lowers the Difficulty of further Tasks by 1 (so it would be 2 for the next check). Last, you could spend the Momentum to re-roll as many Challenge Dice as you want (you have to take the better roll) So you could re-roll that 3 and 4 for a chance at 1, 2, 5, 6.

Hope that all makes sense. It is complicated.

Quite complicated, but thanks for the help and explanation.

I will go with using the momentum for the extra Work and the Breakthrough.

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

"Aye captain!"

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

"We have finished the repairs captain. We will proceed to start the Warp Engines. You will have to excuse us if we don't follow the manual to the letter this time, as we are pressed for time."
When he stops talking to the captain, he will assemble the engineering tea.
"Boys, please make me proud. Let's get this lady ready to dance in less than 30 minutes. Remember, slow is steady, steady is sure, sure is fast."
He will move around trying to beat the record time for getting a Warp Drive started.
he has Focus on Warp Field Dynamics, so I hope it helps.
He also has Technical Expertise: Whenever you attempt a Task assisted by the ship’s Computers or Sensors, you may re-roll one d20 (which may be the ship’s die).
Does it apply here?
Control 10 + Engineering 4 I guess.

Gullerg Rolls: 2d20 ⇒ (6, 4) = 10
That is how we roll in the Federation!
"Commander. Xin-Yalix, please assist Beta team, we need those coils warm as fast as possible."

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

We do. We don't want to say "hello" to the Klingons.

Male Tellarite Operations Manager
GM SuperTumbler wrote:
I'm going to hope Gullerg pops in to roll that assist.

Of course!

Difficulty 3 Fitness+Engineering check.
Gullerg has Fitness 8 + Engineering 4 = 12

Gullerg Roll (12): 1d20 ⇒ 9
"Nice work commander Xin-Yalix!"
Gullerg pats the Efrosian's back maybe a little too hard.

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

Nothing to do right now, I think...

Male Tellarite Operations Manager
Cmdr. Xin-Yalix wrote:
"My suspicion is that it is the Amity itself they're after. There are three warships just waiting for us to cross the border. This is the Federation's latest and greatest ship after all."

"Klingon are like us Tellerites. A proud and strong people. What need would they have for a Federation starship? Besides, sabotage and subterfuge is not their style."

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

Gullerg shakes his head.
"I cannot fathom, for my life, why would somebody do this. It has no reason! Why sabotage the ship? We are a peace mission!"

Male Tellarite Operations Manager
GM SuperTumbler wrote:
Even though Xin rolled successfully earlier, narratively it makes sense that Gullerg would be working with him. I'll let you roll an assist with Reason+Engineering to help track down the damaged plasma relays. Might let you generate some Momentum, which is short right now.

Excellent! Thanks for the guidance.

Reason 10 + Engineering 4 = 14
Gullerg help Xin with the repairs.
Gullerg rolls (14): 2d20 ⇒ (19, 11) = 30

Male Tellarite Operations Manager
GM SuperTumbler wrote:
With Xin-Yalix handling the sensor sweep, Gullerg finds himself waiting, again.

Gullerg keeps waiting.

At a loss about what to do.

Male Tellarite Operations Manager

"It seems the intent was to cripple the ship, and not to destroy it, or kill us."
