Guardsman NPC's page

The adventurers return to the surface to find the guards awaiting in the glassworks basement.

"Cor'blimey!" exclaims the guard. "They're back! What'dya find down there?"

"One of us should go fetch the mayor. Well... maybe after you tell us about it."

The guards are excited to hear stories of the adventure beneath the town. So is Brodert Quink, who is also waiting, dressed in his rusty armor and carrying his old Ranseur.

"Gorum's Codpiece," mutters the guardsman. "I swear we did that one two hours ago. There was nothing!"

"I'll come with you. The boys can take care of things here. You can move ahead and I will catch up." In truth, she wanted to get out of the tavern. It stunk and she felt like she was being eyed like the menu.

"I'll come with you, ma'am," says the guardsman. He gets up to escort the two women outside, and seems relieved to get out of the tavern.

The guardsman leans towards you, and whispers. "There isn't really a cell down here where you can't hear what happens in the other cells. But you could take one of the goblins upstairs as long as you clap him in irons first."

"I suppose we can take these two..." the guardsman indicates the hog-tied goblins, "down to the guard house. We'll let the Constable know where to find you, though he may have his hands full for a little while."

The guardsmen pick up the two unconscious goblins and head west.

"...I would like to speak to your captain about any leads he has on how or why this horrible event has come to pass!"

"Yes, ma'am. I'm sure he'll want to speak to you too."

He looks around at the field of dead bodies.

"In fact, I imagine a lot of people will want to talk to you now. After what you did here today, you'll be pretty famous."

The guardsmen begin to hog-tie the goblins you indicated to take as prisoners.

The guardsmen begin finishing off the downed goblins.
If for some reason you want any goblins alive, speak up now.

"Any of you feel like joining the town guard?" one of the guardsmen asks. "We could use guys like you."

Probably, but then your main melee weapon would be on the second floor of the house.

Striding towards the guards, he casually stabs one of the goblins as he passes by just to be sure. "Got any more for us, fellas?"

The guardsmen look at Kargas nervously.

"There's goblins all over town! Some of us got sent south to the bridges! They could be anywhere! If they start setting fires we're in big trouble!"

He then looks from the big Half Orc to the City Guards.

Guardsmen, I thank you for your service and would ask you to look in on the civilians that ran into the cathedral. Please and thank you.

"Y-yes, that's a good idea. The cathedral is made of stone. They'll never burn that down!"
