I am two sessions into a home-brew campaign (3rd session tomorrow) set in a non-Golarian world and am having a blast. We aren't playing Core only, but have limited books (APG, ARG, UE) which I was dubious about at first, but is shaping up great! Instead of making the ultimate killing machine, I can focus on other feats and skills.
In fact, I am playing a Paladin for the first time AND not just a Paladin, but a Half-Orc Redeemer/Warrior of the Holy Light. Yes, I know, I give up Detect Evil and spells, which is mechanically bad, but makes for role playing gold!
I won't bore everyone with his backstory, but he's an organic Paladin of Tyr but doesn't know an awful lot about Tyr. He is also functionally illiterate, so he constantly shows up at Temples of Tyr and bugs the Hel out of the priests with his questions.
The flavor of the home-brew campaign works better with 1E, IMO.

I made an Ace Pilot Goblin Blitz Soldier (Sebastian Snickersnack): 14/18/13/10/10/8. Sebastian is a chivalrous goblin who was saved from a life of crime and taught the basics of flying before being sent to a flight academy to hone his natural skills. He wears a "bomber" jacket and speaks slowly and in an unusually deep voice for a goblin, his attempt at fitting in and being taken seriously. To reflect that background, I gave him the Ace Pilot theme and Skill Focus Piloting at 1st level (he was determined to graduate in the top 5% of his class). Additionally, we have our own star-ship for this AP and I wanted to make sure I was the pilot.
He would be an excellent sniper build, but I wanted to make him a short range (20') and melee fighter. He has a retractable bone blade augmentation (Operative weapon). I was waffling between Blitz and Hit and Run but decided on Blitz for the extra movement (goblins start at 35' so I start at 45'). I will absolutely make use of the 5th level un-penalized charge! My goal is to have him rush up and get in everyone's grill while my comrades pick the rest off. I may dip into 3 levels of Daredevil Operative at some point but or transition him to DDO - unsure at this point as he is only 2nd level.
I am considering the following as his feat progression and welcome any feedback. I'm not trying to max him out, but give him the flavor of an uncharacteristically serious goblin whose impulsiveness manifests in his rushing headlong into battle as he thinks that's how you show your loyalty to your comrades.
2nd: Opening Volley
3rd: Close Combat
4th: Step Up
5th: Cleave
6th: Step Up and Strike
7th: Great Cleave
8th: Deflect Projectiles
9th: Mobility/Spring Attack (Hit & Run as 2nd Combat Style)
10th: Shot on the Run

Nothing in the ability limits it to certain applications only. Which makes sense, considering Envoys can invest quite a bit in feinting.
Although if I may, if that d6 bonus is all you want out of Envoy, Skill Feats could be enough, and Soldiers can spare a feat or two.
True!
I already burned a feat on Skill Focus for Bluff, but I also wanted access to Culture, Diplomacy, Stealth, Sleight of Hand, Perception, etc., without burning feats for Skill Synergy. I lose 1 combat feat but gain the equivalent of multiple Skill Synergy feats. Again, this build isn't optimized numerically, and I may go straight Soldier until 5th level, but wanted to make sure I was correct about stacking Skill Expertise with Improved Feint.
But thank you for weighing in and responding, I truly appreciate it!

I created an SFS Soldier with typical Soldier stats with a Dex focus. His second scenario was the Solar Sortie and I role played him as a face despite his lack of skills (the rest of the party were Technomancers and Mechanics). I enjoyed playing him as a deceptive type, so when he gained 2nd level, I rebuilt him with the Space Pirate theme so he has Bluff as a class skill. I gave him a 16 Charisma and chose Improved Feint as a feat.
I didn't want to make him an Operative or an Envoy; I wanted him to be a twitchy Soldier with a glib smile who lies as easily as breathing.
He just earned his 4th level and I am now considering a level of Envoy to access other skills and get Skill Expertise. My specific question is this: Can I use Skill Expertise (Bluff) for the skill check for Improved Feint? I don't see anything that says I can't, but want to check in case I am challenged during Society play. If I can use Skill Expertise, I have a +13 and a +1d6 to Feint as a Move action, for a minimum of +14, which means at level 4 I have a 50% chance to Feint a CR6 creature!
I know it's not maximized, but I'm not looking to build a Spy Operative or a straight up Envoy. I just wanted to give my Soldier some flavor. Since I wrote more than necessary, the question again:
Can I use Skill Expertise (Bluff) for the skill check for Improved Feint?
Thank you!! Excellent news! I love the estoc, or the finesseable falchion...
I thought this question was asked and answered:

http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2lhxl?Ancestral-Arms-Exotic-Weapon-Proficiency# 1
But I was told last night a BAB 0 character of mine could take the Ancestral Arms racial trait but not use the exotic weapon until she reaches BAB +1.
Here's the exact scenario: I made a 1st-level Half-Elf Unchained Rogue, picked Ancestral Arms, EWP estoc. I chose it because my understanding of the rules would allow her to apply finesse training at 1st-Level for weapon finesse and then get Dex-to-Damage with the estoc at 3rd-Level.
I was told last night she couldn't wield the estoc until she has a BAB +1. I was also told the clarification was posted somewhere and is now canon, but cannot find the source of this ruling.
There is no mention of meeting the EWP prerequisites in the Ancestral Arms description and Hero Lab allows it.

You apply a Chronicle, check your level, then you apply the next Chronicle, check your level, etc.
You could not apply four, Tier 5-9, 1xp Chronicles to a 0xp character, for example. The fourth would have to be held until 5th level.
On page 7 of the of the PFS Roleplaying Guild Guide:
"If you apply credit for multiple adventures at once, your Roleplaying Guild character might advance multiple levels. The character’s level cannot exceed the tier range of any Chronicle sheets applied to her."
There is an "all at once," but it doesn't apparently work how I thought it might. Which is why I asked my question.
What I take from your response is this: if I played 6 Tier 5-9 Chronicles, I could apply 3 to my 0 XP character, taking me to 2nd level. At 5th level, I could apply the other 3, taking me to 6th level.
That makes sense but is not entirely clear from the Guide.

And you're probably correct.
Here's my reasoning: I have the option to apply credit from multiple adventures at once as long as the "character’s level [doesn't] exceed the tier range of any Chronicle sheets applied...." I have the option to "apply credit from a higher-tier adventure to a 1st-level Roleplaying Guild character."
So it appears I can apply them all at once to a 1st level character as long as I don't "exceed the tier range of any Chronicle sheets applied..." The only caveat being I "do not benefit from any boons until [my] Roleplaying Guild character reaches the minimum level listed on the Chronicle sheet..."
So there is a reduction on the amount of gold per adventure I can credit to a 1st-level character, as well as a restriction on boons, but the only apparent XP restriction if I apply the multiple adventure credits all at once is my character level cannot exceed the tier range of any applied Chronicle sheets...
So if I continue to play pregens for tier 4-5 adventures and apply the credits all at once...
Sorry, it's the way my brain works...
"If you apply credit for multiple adventures at once, your Roleplaying Guild character might advance multiple levels. The character’s level cannot exceed the tier range of any Chronicle sheets applied to her."
"You can apply credit from a higher-tier adventure to a 1st-level Roleplaying Guild character. When doing so, reduce the gp reward to 500 gp if the adventure grants 1 XP or 1,398 gp if it grants 3 XP."
So, if I play a bunch of PFS scenarios with 4th level pregens and wait until I've accumulated 12 XP, can I apply them all at once to my 1st level RPG character and level up to 4th level?
I assume I can't apply credit incrementally in XP groups of 3 and move from 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd, 3rd to 4th?
