Only five players? I was hoping to get in on this.

Grand Lodge

I have not read through here to see what has been mentioned, but I always liked the dice step system in Earthdawn. Some people have a hard time learning the game at first, but once you get it down, it is a great game. I also enjoyed BESM, which stands for Big Eyes Small Mouth. It's a D20 system that plays out like an anime, and what gamer don't like anime?

Grand Lodge

How about making it's Dr 10/-, maybe the original is not vulnerable to silver. You could also make it large size, with a dire wolf animal form. And lastly, check out some of the monster feats like Awesome Blow.

Grand Lodge

How about a Monk, sack Chr for Dex and Wis bonuses. Get blind fight feat and feats that give you an edge on Stealth and Perception, use any darkness against him. Magical darkness can not be overcome by Fogcutting Lenses, they only help with fog and they blur vision giving a -4 penalty on Perception checks. Lastly, his Rog should only have 10 ranks in each skill as a level 10 char. I know you were hoping for a high init char, but a 10th level monk will not only hit hard, but be hard to hit with the right gear (Bracers of Armor give an armor bonus but don't count as armor for the purposes of Monk abilities).

Good night all, see you in the marrow, or later today technically.

Grand Lodge

Ok, HP rolls, here goes.

HP: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 3) + 2 = 10

Marconis- Thanks, that lets me know a lot more!

No problem, also Marius let me know how to set up a stat block like you wanted, so I will be working on that as soon as I get back. It's shopping day, so as soon as my ride gets here to take me and gets me back I will set that up.

I think a few of your numbers are off Marconis I make your stats 16, 13, 12, 15, 18, 13 in rolled order.

Quite right, I was very tired when I done this, it has since been corrected.

Grand Lodge

I need to of course come up with back story, but here is a basic character build.

Grand Lodge

I'm thinking human Sorcerer, Abyssal bloodline. I will have to make him tomorrow though, too tired now, just wanted to show interest.

Grand Lodge

Yes, I always put high Int on my Rog characters. They are a skill based class, and I treat them as such.

Grand Lodge

If so then I guess it will be this.

Str: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Dex: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Con: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Int 18
Wis: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Chr 8

Well that stinks, I was rather enjoying this story.

Grand Lodge

I have yet to see it, but the previews look hilarious. I love a good comedy, do not understand why they are always marked as horror.

Grand Lodge

Moving back to Holts Summit, Mo, would like to find a game still.

Grand Lodge

Dang, I have to drop, sorry, work and all.

Grand Lodge

I can only post from my phone, so I can not download anything right now.

Grand Lodge

I may be interested in this game, though I dont currently have access to the S&S book. You may have to recomend me a good trait from that book, but I could bust out a char fairly quick.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I'm 6' tall, just over 220lbs, with long hair and tattoos, I never get a negative response when I tell people I'm a gamer. Once in awhile folks will say, "I thought you were a biker?" I just respond with, "why can't I be both?"

Sounds more like Jerk DM than dumb players to me.

Not so bad a jerk, I at least let them buy a wish to undo the bad one. Besides, the campaign they were in, there weren't a lot of mages trusting enough to grant a wish.

Grand Lodge

Also, as an addition, I would be willing to play some other games, dice and pencil I have. Books are another story, I have some PF books, and 3.5 books, but I am willing to learn other systems if there's someone with books to run it.

Darn kids and their cell phones, well the only thing I can think is tell them get in the game while there is one. I refuse to run games for people that can't pay attention, then again, with my recent move I don't have a group anymore.

Grand Lodge

I'm not sure I would call any class broken, players maybe, but not the class. It's all a matter of how you build the character, the system works fine as is, it's the players that repeatedly rape the rules.

Grand Lodge

I live in a little podunk town in the middle of Missery, it's Versailles, Mo. I need local gamers that can get together once a week, preferably all over 18 as I have verbal slips from time to time. Not looking for an overly large group to start, and someone willing to GM is always a plus as I don't often get a chance to play. Would like to find more serious gamers who can stay with the game at least 90% of the session, side talk has always been a big problem in groups I play in. If you live in the area and are interested then by all means PM me, use subject line "VMG", I check this site at least once a day.

We pretty much always roll the dice - usually 4d6, drop lowest, reroll 1s, assign where you want.

I only let players do this type on solo campaigns, two or three players usually have 3d6 reroll ones, full groups (4+), use point buy. The amount of point buy always depends on the difficulty of the campaign.

I liked it, not the best I've read, but deffinately grabbed and held my attention, not always an easy task. Scale of one to ten, a solid six, well written, good grammar, decent spelling and vocabulary, and left me wanting to read more. Don't be discouraged by the six, I'm a harsh judge, six is top side of average, and I've never given a ten. By all means, Finnish this story, if not here then in print.

Grand Lodge

As for me, I'm disabled, so I don't work now.

Well, thanks for that unexpected visual.

159 No need to beat a dead horse.

The rest of mine were taken.

One of my favorite NPC's must be my LN Bugbear Monk/Fighter. I have 3 versions of him, different levels and gear. Lowest is 2/2, highest is M/8-F/4, carries a Longbow and a Kama. The PC's never know what to expect when I use him in games, I have used him as an agent for the PC's enemies, and as a helpful NPC, as well as a mercenary for hire. When used as a mercenary, he always travels in a group with an Orc Rng, Goblin Clr, and Kobold Sor, all 2 levels lower than himself.

Grand Lodge

I've so very many introduction scenarios, I m not sure what to mention. Most of mine are "call to arms," with a few exceptions.

Grand Lodge

Illusionist traps are fun, especially when the illusion is of something that's actually there, just in a different spot. Imagine jumping over an illusion of a hole, only to land in a hole covered by illusion of solid floor. It only a 30' drop with a nice soft landing in a refuse pit, but the otyugs at the bottom complete the trap just fine.

Grand Lodge

When I play in these types of games, I never attempt the leadership role, preferring to be a power behind the throne type. I will usually will be an Intelligence based char, tech, engineer, or something of the sort, keeping close to the one in charge to offer advice and opinions. When asked why I don't try to lead, my answer is always the same, when things break, that's my problem, when a plan fails, it's the problem of the one in charge.

Grand Lodge

In a game I ran, the players had found a ring of three wishes with one wish remaining, four out of the five players would not touch it (they had played with wishes in my games before). However the fifth player was never exposed to my wish granting, and was not warned. He was playing a wizard of well below average strength (6), and made the wish the he was a strong as the fighter in the group (22), I was forced to tell the fighter he now had a strength of 6. Smart characters should be played by smart players, wish fail.

Grand Lodge

If a character in one of my campaigns gets lucky enough to find or rich enough to seek out someone able to make the speed weapons, I would allow them to stack.
