Hello, Captain.

I'd like to throw this character into the submission mix. He an Eagle Knight Recruit, and human ranger.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

Bridge encounter:
Griar padded along the aged highway, his bow held in a comfortable grip at his side. The rain felt good as it drummed on his hat, and the shield that was strapped to his backpack. Griar hurried along, with luck he could make Sowell's Orchard by evening.

Cresting the rise, Grier discovers the bold, and attractive bridge guardian. "I would love to spar with you." He says. "But over there." He points with an arrow that was quickly drawn from the quiver at his back.
"Lurks a fellow that looks to be friend to neither you, or me." Griar nocks the arrow, and waits to see what happens next.

OK, I made this aasimar ranger. I debated on whether to put in for this, I'm more of a once a day poster. More on the weekends, but that's when everyone else seems to post less.

Gamemaster Zedth, if the 1 a day posting rate is too slow I understand.

Yeah, that's probably a fair classification. I've never played one either, but they seem to be kind of a ranged thing. So yeah, probably a damage dealer.

I would like to submit this areokineticist for consideration. I've been wanting to play Curse of the Crimson throne for awhile.

I have the Guide to Korvosa book, so I know a little about the city.

Alright.

Griar is set to go. I also created another alias: Iron Osprey, for when Griar is in that guise.

I've got a submission that didn't make the cut before.

I'll level up. Also, I think my background needs to be updated/improved. I would keep the campaign trait he had, that's why the background needs the update.

The players that I didn't pick for my Kingmaker game started a recruitment thread for a GM. They found one too.

It was so hard to choose, I wanted to take everyone, but I knew I wouldn't be able to deal with multiple tables, so I had to decide. It's tough.

Kind of late into the submission process, but here's Griar Brand. An aerokineticist .

This is the alias I would be using for the game, the stat-block and fluffy are in the profile.

I plan on dipping into vigilante for at least 1 level to gain class skills and other goodness.

Edit: I just saw the 1:1 thing. That changes my stats considerably. I'll have to rework that...

More edit: OK, that's done. Griar should be good to go.

Not sure what his exact role is, I've never played a kineticist.

Eh, it's just something that I like to do. Besides, who says we don't have a tavern travelling with the caravan? :)

Anyway, it's just for the OOC discussion thread. I don't know if anyone's really going to notice it that much.

It was just a thought. And yeah, you're right, a traveling taven could have a name.

I would suggest not using a tavern name for this one. It's a traveling caravan, so would not always go to the same tavern. Maybe the circled wagons or campfire discussions or something similar.

Just my two cents worth. :)

Alright, GM Q & A added. I had the racial bonus to abilities set on wisdom. That is where the 3 points were, so that's fixed. (I use HeroLab, so I was wondering where the mistake was. With me, as usual.)

In the background bit, I added that Griar's mother is still alive, and lives in Sandpoint.

APs always seem to get a sizable response. Good luck to us all. :)

Mmm... I guess my application isn't quite complete.

-Who are you and how are you doing?
IRL my name is Ben. I have a full time job, I live in Arizona. Doing OK.

-How often do you tend to post?
I post in the evenings after work, it tends to work out to be about once a day.

-What kind of tone are you looking for in this game?
The AP seems to promise high adventure...

-What do you expect out of your fellow players?
I've been in games where there was great synergy, others not so much. I don't know what to expect.

-What do you expect out of me (the GM)?
Kind of the same answer that I gave about player expectations. I actually have a better relationship with GMs if I take more time to explain my characters motives and actions. So, if selected I'll try to improve and expand my writing.

-What is your comfort zone? Where's the line for you in RP terms?
If we stay within the Paizo Community Guidelines it should be fine I think.

-How do you see your character progressing as a character?
This is not known to me. My characters are always influenced by their environment. A wizard I played in Kingmaker developed a dislike for fey. It was not something I planned, or expected, but it happened. This is why I have such trouble writing up a personality blurb. The character I described as being all dour turned out to be a comedian of sorts, while the one that was supposed to be lighthearted, played out to be a grumpy Gus.

Crunch wise, it's easy. I plan on dabbling into inquisitor. Only a few levels though.

Griar's back ached from a long day of tree cutting. The day was done and it was time to head home for some food, and sleep.

Something was different, this evening. There was more than the usual hubbub about Sandpoint tonight. Asking around, Griar quickly found the cause. Sandru Vhiski was putting a caravan together.
This is it, Griar realized. A sign from Desna. With growing excitement Griar sets out to find Master Vhiski. A caravan will need guards, Griar reasons. Finally a chance to see the world.
With the weariness of a days work forgotten, Griar trots hurriedly toward the Rusty Dragon.

So this looks to be a fun game. I'd like to submit this character into the pool. I would be using this alias, the stat-block, appearance, background and personality write-ups are in the profile. Thanks for your consideration, DM-Salsa.

Semms like you forgot me too, Duke of Despair. Character has been ready for awhile.

Helloooo...

Anyone home?

Griar has CLW as a bard spell.

It's pretty easy to get minor healing, but a cleric has the restoration and regeneration spells for when things get really ugly. At higher levels of course.

I'll put throw in a submission. It will be this alias. An archaeologist bard/trapper ranger multi-class combo.

I still need to do the fluff parts. I have the 'Magnamar, City of monuments' book. I don't know if that makes a difference. I'd try to forget stuff I've read that my character wouldn't know. :)

I actually considered doing a very similar campaign to this one. Based on founding a church to Sarenrae in Magnamar.

Character stat-block is in profile, other details are coming, but i got to run some errands first.

I'm going to semi-withdraw my submission for this one. I still want to play, if there's room for two paladins.

Probably not.

I didn't mean to step on Grand Moff Vixen's toes, it's just that my character was completely set for this game.
Anyway, I've played with GMV in another game, and I have only respect. I'd prefer to share a game, not compete for a spot.

Also, seems like there's a bit of a GM shortage, I'm thinking about starting a game, maybe I should focus on that. :)

This is a character that was running Carrion Crown, then the game died out. I'd like to submit him.

I'll have to check what I did for point-buy and wealth...

Background stuff is already complete, though maybe I can make it better.

We didn't get very far into the adventure, so I don't know too much about the AP.

"That must be the stone that killed Prof. Lorrimor. If It was hurled down, there may be evidence left behind by whoever did the deed." Griar points out the balcony above. "That looks very fragile, but if someone got to the upper floor to attack the Professor, there must be a stairway inside that is sturdy enough to climb."

Griar looks around at his companions. "Let's keep on our toes here, this is not a safe place."

Griar prepares to enter the front door, following Kwoon.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10

Can you use Aid an other with perception? It doesn't seem like you should be able to, but the rules don't explicitly say you can't either. (Unless I missed it somewhere.)

"I think I'll stay here with Kwoon and keep watch while he works." Griar looks toward the ruined tower where the rats were seen. "If those rats swarm out of there, we will need to leave, and fast."
Griar knows that rats don't usually attack humans, but then stifling feelings of burning skin don't ordinarily happen either. This is no ordinary ruin.

Griar points out the writing.

"Sounds like a plan."

Griar looks around the inside of the abandoned prison, seeking signs of danger.

Griar looks around wildly. "What the hell!" Griar draws his great sword almost by reflex, though how that close, stifling feeling could be fought with a blade, he does not know.

Shaken, the paladin looks around the prison interior for signs danger.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

Ok, that's weird. I edited in a perception roll. I think the webpage made my strength check into the perception roll, then put the new die roll down on the str check.

I'm pretty sure I rolled a 3 for the str check and it changed.

In the guild building thread I noticed that, if I copy/pasted the dice code it all showed the same number.

Lets see if it does it again.
Test: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 231d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6This one I typed in, all others were copy/paste.
Test: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 101d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Test: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 101d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Test: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 101d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

More copy paste.
Test: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 91d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Test: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 131d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Test: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 41d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Interesting...

There was a key to the chest he left us.

I wouldn't expect it to work here.

Male Ifrit Slayer 1| AC 16| T 13 | F 13 |HP 12| CMD 16 | F +3 | R +6 | W +2 | Init +3 |Per +4 |

I hope that gate isn't locked, 'cause, lol.

Male Ifrit Slayer 1| AC 16| T 13 | F 13 |HP 12| CMD 16 | F +3 | R +6 | W +2 | Init +3 |Per +4 |

Griar chuckles. "Well, lets see if it is locked first." Accepting the offered crowbar, Griar steps up close to the gate and gives it a quick examination, looking for trap triggers, or other signs of danger.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12

Then he pushes or pulls at the gate. Griar knows that doors usually swing to whichever side the hinges are on. If the hinges are on the inside, the gate should swing in. If they are on the outside then the gates should swing outwards to open.

Assuming the gates are hard to open.

"OK, Kwoon. On three. 1, 2, 3."

Strength check vs front gate: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

Edit: I forgot to make my perception roll to examine the gate. It's added now.

"So you intend to continue to work with us then cleric?" You are welcome to, you seem pretty resourceful. You do need to tell us your name, though. It will save us from having to come up with clever nicknames for you."

Male Ifrit Slayer 1| AC 16| T 13 | F 13 |HP 12| CMD 16 | F +3 | R +6 | W +2 | Init +3 |Per +4 |

"I think so. As you say Kwoon. The obvious starting point."

Male Ifrit Slayer 1| AC 16| T 13 | F 13 |HP 12| CMD 16 | F +3 | R +6 | W +2 | Init +3 |Per +4 |

"Yes, good thinking Kwoon. Everyone should have at least one of the silver arrows, just in case."
Griar looks apologetic.
"I was thinking only in terms of ammunition for my bow, but arrows may be used as improvised weapons, in a pinch."

Griar smiles. "And before I forget, Kwoon. Master is used as an honorific that is suitable to use in reference to low ranking citizens. It also can have the same meaning that you are used to. I won't use it, if we are among your brothers, but people need to know that you are not a serf, so you can expect to be called by that title sometimes, in the future."

Male Ifrit Slayer 1| AC 16| T 13 | F 13 |HP 12| CMD 16 | F +3 | R +6 | W +2 | Init +3 |Per +4 |

"I seem to be the only one with a bow." Says Griar, looking at the arrows. "If any of you can use them, I don't mind splitting them up, though."

Looking at the other items, Griar muses. "Scrolls are really not my style, we probably should devide the holy water and healing potions up as evenly as we can. My preferred weapons require two hands to wield, so I'd rather not carry a sunrod. And that planchette thing is not for me."

Male Ifrit Slayer 1| AC 16| T 13 | F 13 |HP 12| CMD 16 | F +3 | R +6 | W +2 | Init +3 |Per +4 |

"I hope we don't have to use it then." Griar comments when Father Grimburrow explanes the Haunt siphon.

Griar watches as Kendra greets the Abadar cleric. It seems she does not know his name either. Perhaps the fellow will introduce himself at last.

Male Ifrit Slayer 1| AC 16| T 13 | F 13 |HP 12| CMD 16 | F +3 | R +6 | W +2 | Init +3 |Per +4 |

"Yes, fine thanks." Griar says in answer to Irlena. He follows her back to the temple, wondering how long it will take Baer to identify the properties of the items.

Griar keeps his eye on the crack that the nasty bug came out of, in case it wants to try again.

Male Ifrit Slayer 1| AC 16| T 13 | F 13 |HP 12| CMD 16 | F +3 | R +6 | W +2 | Init +3 |Per +4 |

Griar stands watch as Baer and Kwoon open the casket and retrieve its contents. Seeing all the arrows, Griar wishes he owned a better bow. Arrows of such fine quality deserve a strong bow to to send them flying true.

With the items packed up it is time to leave...

Then the skittering mandibled creature attacks Baer. Griar reacts quickly, though not as quickly as Kwoon.

The paladin attacks with the club he already has in hand.

Club: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 121d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Male Ifrit Slayer 1| AC 16| T 13 | F 13 |HP 12| CMD 16 | F +3 | R +6 | W +2 | Init +3 |Per +4 |

Griar moves cautiously down the stairs, then steps to the right to make room for the others. The light carried by Abadar's cleric casts fitful dark shadows, but Griar does his best to spot any trigger plates on the steps as well as listen for noises. Though he and his companions make plenty of their own noise.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

Male Ifrit Slayer 1| AC 16| T 13 | F 13 |HP 12| CMD 16 | F +3 | R +6 | W +2 | Init +3 |Per +4 |

"I wonder if these tracks truly belong to the Professor. If he came here and got the artifacts, wouldn't they be in his home or workshop?"

Griar shrugs. The only way to find out is to continue.
"Stay sharp everyone."

Griar takes his cue from Kwoon, trying to step only in the monk's footprints.

He keeps his eyes peeled for danger. Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13

Male Ifrit Slayer 1| AC 16| T 13 | F 13 |HP 12| CMD 16 | F +3 | R +6 | W +2 | Init +3 |Per +4 |

Griar regards the cleric of Abadar with some surprise. "You coming inside with us, Pavement Priest? There may be danger."

Griar decides that the tomb may be too tight a space for him to use his greatsword. Instead he draws his club from its belt loop.

Griar follows close behind Kwoon examining the area as he goes.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27

Male Ifrit Slayer 1| AC 16| T 13 | F 13 |HP 12| CMD 16 | F +3 | R +6 | W +2 | Init +3 |Per +4 |

Griar has a look around the crypt, looking for evidence that the chamber has been opened.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26

"Quite clear, Father. we will respect your wishes."

Once Vasku and Irlena arrive Griar introduces himself to them. Including Kwoon, and Baer in the introductions. Marckus is left out of the introductions, of course. Griar doesn't know his name after all.

Giving the lead priest a short bow, Griar says: "We'll be on our way now. If you don't mind."

"As my associate, Hung Hei Kwoon says. We are working for sheriff Caeller. We have reason to believe that foul play was involved in Professor Lorrimor's death. Griar gives the ancient priest a level gaze.
"The Professor's journal alluded to the presence of important artifacts in one of your tombs. We are not grave robbers, but we need to have a look within the crypt. The Professor was investigating a group dedicated to raising undead. He seemed to think the artifacts would be located there, in the crypt."
Taking a breath, Griar continues.
"The incident with the monument to Hawkran may or may not be connected, but we do intend to investigate the old prison.'
Griar looks the man straight in the eye.
"There is something going on in this town. Without doubt it concerns the Church of Pharasma. If you help us investigate it, we will let you know whatever we find out."
