I'm actually merging AoW with Pathfinder: RotRL - I ran the 1st module Burnt Offerings as is and I ran the first half of Skimsaw murders - In my Campaigne the skimsaw man is actually one of Alden Foxgloves man servants who retrieved among other things the Apostolic Scrolls and tried to sell them to the Ebon Triad (greed theme)and got turned into a ghoul/Ghast for his foolish attempt to swindle more money out of the cult and became a tool for harvesting souls of greed.

Meanwhile Alden Foxgloves estate is actually located on the out skirts of Diamond lake, Alden is very much alive and is secretly practicing necromancy in an effort to bring his lover back to the living, realizing he made a grave mistake.

The PC's will follow the murders and the strange seven pointed star from Sandpoint to Diamond lake. Knowing the skimsaw man has a connection with Alden. The lady player of the group will go to his estate for dinner after recieving an invitation so I can play up on how he's alil creepy. The PC's will also experience how much of a ghetto Diamond lake is before they chase the skimsaw man into the Whispering Caern.

Filge is a compatiot of Aldens but that will remain behind the scenes for now. Alden will denie even knowing of the man existance. Alden will also try and earn the parties trust by intoducing the party to Allustan who can tell them more about the Whispering Caern findings.

For the Three Faces of Evil. The PC's will learn that the Apostolic Scrolls have been delivered to the Ebon Triad and that they have a Temple in Dowerstones Mine. I Figure i'll have the PC's chase the Apostolic Scrolls for awhile. This is as far in planing as I've gotten.

I kinda see it as a sad corporate move the generate sales. Why do we need a 4th edition so close to the launch of 3.5 edition? DnD is not MTG and we do not need a new addition every quarter of the fisco year. And it seems like 4th edition is just trying to bring the game closure to video games which...it's a roleplaying game so why even try it. The last books released for 3.5e like the Exemplars of Evil, was kinda lame in the fact that it wouldn't been a great series of articles for Dragon magazine but hardly work for a hard covered book - it was like the writers half heartedly thru it together with tidbits of information they pre-wrote and didn't want to waste. I hope other companies stay with 3.5e to be honest with you.

Gawd I guess my only source of violent reading is going to have to be the local newspaper since pathfinder is to dark and depressing. I wonder if all these criminals read pathfinder before they committed a crime. Such week willed individuals not being able to decern reality from fantasy or right from wrong. We all have fantasies and dreams, its what moves some of us to strive harder towards happiness. Since im a bleeding heart libral extremist I guess these poor criminals were just looking for a scrap of happiness and since their absentte parents never taught them right from wrong when they were younger they learned everything they needed to know about life from pathfinder modules or startrek. What a shame.

Hitler, Charles Manson, The DC Sniper, Huesan, the guy that runs north korea and is worshiped as a god if they played DnD maybe they wouldn't have done those horrible things.

If i was a real life DnD character and people were being plucked off in my village everyday i would want to take down the sniper and bring him to justice. If a bard in Sharn was getting blonde barmaids to worship a fiend and committe crimes on its behalf, I would want to track him down. If a Dictator in control of the dale lands started putting elves and worshipers of mystra into a giant blender or doing weird magical experiemnts to them - I would want him overthrown. Is that not the right attitude? oh wait im a polymorphed sheep.

How do you candy coat and censor a roleplaying game?
How do you candy coat and censor reality?

Sorry for the rant but it just strikes a cord - I feel like im on another planet.

Or you could make her a vampire spawn- make her go thru the levels in the Libris Mortis and eventually achieve full blown vampire. Sure she would be under the control of the vampire that killed player x, that is if the vampire is still alive. A vampire can only have as many spawns as her CHA bonus allows- anything embraced after that becomes free willed. This all good lead into a good side story.

I like your group lol - my group I'm sure is heading for a TPK becuase umm yea no body believes in playing a cleric. And they're heading for a fight with Ike in the Cathedral of Wee Jas in the Secret of the Soul Pillars adventure.

I'd let them investigate a little and have them run into a dead end and/or only find romours leading into the next module such as a disgruntal bar patron commoner "ay it's just a ploy by Lord Navalant(actually Valantru) to have an excuse to raise our taxes (to fund the creation of the soul cages), if questioned in his next public address he'd reply its necessary to fund the MTA becuase we're all not as invulnerable as we'd think we are living in these walls" Then the following module the PC's realize the commoners theory was correct.

Sorta like Bush raising taxes to fund Homeland Security

Guess I'll just have to use greater invisibility.

Or you could let him have his way and just raise the prices of all the magic items not in their possession. Ok the cloak is worth 500gd, but worth a 1000gd towards character wealth, then make the non claimed items - say they want to buy a wand of cure light wounds raise the price by 50% . it should just balance out this players BS lol and cause unnecessary paper work. I personally just take the buying price value in the DMG and make that what PC wealth is based on. Because thats the incentive for characters to make their own magic items- it cuts cost down and even allows them to by pass character wealth. Plus you have remember the gold peice limits of the economy of the towns they're in. That should play a really big part

Ok you enter a room where there is a cleric of Weejas surrounded by several Large Zombies. The cleric is invisible and you are unaware. (not greater invisibility) After a few rounds of Battle the cleric uses a wand of MASS INFLICT WOUNDS directed and intended to heal his zombie body gaurds- it so happens to catch a PC or two in its effect, Does the cleric become visible. Or was is it considered indirect damage and the cleric keep his invisibility? I need to know by this tuesday around noon. This is what my PC's will be walking into and I want to snuff any arguements from our resident rule lawyer before they happen. Thanks

Fellow DM

When I ran this adventure my crew did the same - found Zenith before the black dragon (not bothing to look up his offical name) so I left it as that. My pc's were happy enought they got Zenith with only 2 almost 3 death's (1 heroic suicide included). The dragon is mearly interested in his breeding experiments- they're isn't much reason why he would hunt the pc's- I left the dragon be and decided to use him as a type of iconic NPC- his breeding experiements turn up periodically to challenge or help the PC's while they try and find their own identity. Since on occasion some leave the father and are intelligent enough to question their existence and purpose in the world- maybe a really smart offspring starts a church of bahamut or tiamat in the caldron region.

Well currently im the 120th person to post or vote (hopes wizards sees a strong enough demand to allow paizo to publish a AoW hardcover or box set from this thread) I WANT IT HARD OR BOXED!!

I would also like them to produce it as a hardcover lol I'm only half way through running SCAP. But I've been adding my own content and developing a player created world around it. If I could plan on a Hardcover AoW I could start working that into game seemlessly.
