Silo doesn't have any Interrupts at least not right now. But he dose have Vipers Strike that will give an ally an OA if an enemy shifts. But I think just letting you roll any OA's is the best way to handle them.

Well i would like to play till the end of the module but have been very busy the last few weeks trying to get a new job.

Aside from the entry for Razmiran in the gazetteer is there any thing else I should read (assuming its ok to read that)? I'll have access to a lot of books tomorrow that I normally don't have access to.

Yes, thank you I'll play him as having had a close friend who was executed for heresy that will give him motivation to betray the Rasmiran. Will that work?

I'm thinking Elf Ranger for race and class.

One might even be a scout from the raiding forces -- a Razmiran who sees that the crofters are doing no harm, and betrays his officers by warning the heretics.

Is and interesting idea and i would like to play with it but could I get more in for on the Razmiran.

I would be interested in playing in another game, would like to try out a Ranger.

Changed the color of the word table from black to white was having problems reading it off the dark background color. Looks good though thanks.

They need to make it so that the [pre] or [code] tags work on this site so that maps like this one can look right. owell maybe i can request it some where.

I've found a bug. When I set up a first level fighter to dual-wield short swords I set the main hand weapon to Use Field to Two-Weapon Primary (light Secondary) then I set the off-hand weapon Use Field to Two-Weapon Secondary it then adds 1/2 my str mod to damage for the off-hand weapon. So it looks like this

str 15 (+2)
dex 17 (+3)
Main Hand Short Sword +1 1d6+2
Off-Hand Short Sword +1 1d6+3

And if

str 20 (+5)
dex 17 (+3)
Main Hand Short Sword +1 1d6+5
Off-Hand Short Sword +1 1d6+7

Also (this is more a features request then a bug) it would be nice to have an other option on the language so that you can write in non standard languages such as Varisian.

How do encounter powers work when you're not in combat. Specifically I want to know if I can use more then one Inspiring Words with only a 5 min rest so that I can add a 1d6 to every once healing surges?

Well I had fun and am looking forward to more.

pat512 wrote:

Another thing that happened is that some of you burned encounter powers on minions (the spear-wielders). Should the players have meta-game knowledge that certain monsters are minions?

I don't know but I kinda think the description of the koboles with shields kinda told me that they were a bit more challenging then the spear-wielders. I don't really thing we need to meta game to figure out where the grater challenge is but then again I didn't know that the spear-wielders where minion at first.

Well, welcome aboard everyone.

I myself am used to using Invisible Castle, but Irony Games seems to have a nice roller as well. Does anyone else have a preference?

It looks like we have our team so we can start statting up characters and trying to establish something of a background for everyone.

Just so I know where we stand on things, how familiar is everyone with Golarion in general and sandpoint/magnimar in particular? Have any of you run through or read through parts of RotRL before?

-Tarlane

I've read through the first encounter of RotRL and have done a heavy skim of the players guide but thats about all I know. I've never used Irony Games before but have used Invisible Castle

Is there a calender for this world I would like to know what year it is?

I guess if i have a preference its for alpha/beta rules.

I'm interested in playing RoTRL as for character I would most likely start as a Fighter.

that sounds cool and is great if that is good by you. One thing; were you in a merc group that got worked out; or in your dad's and his got wiped out?

Yes, I was thinking that it was my dad's.

This is the (Gaius Nepos) character I plan to use for the adventure. Please look over it and tell me what you think (especially the Gear and the Languages I'm not sure about those sections). I haven't had a chance to right up the back story but I still need to roll for some of that. Please tell me what it is you need me to roll it's getting late for me and I don't feel like digging through the thread to find that out thank you. I used This to come up with the stats

I would like you to have some familiarity with the druids in the area if you can work that in; would like you and the druid joining us to have had an association of at least co-operation in the past; perhaps she hires you to relieve greedy people of the burden of wealth or food or some such; perhaps you ahve needed healing and she rendered it without asking questions; stuff like that.

Hmm, This can be worked with my idea for the mercenary company was to have

it disband at some point before the adventure but with this area being at
war for so long I could rework it so that the mercenary company was wiped
out in its last battle and the druid came along and found me the only
survivor and nursed me back to health or some such and the two if us are
now friends.

Basically, we are making level 5 characters for a group to do some adventuring. The first adventure will be in what we might call the country of Greece searching for a lost artifact that the dwarven priest who lives on the ice pyramid is going to introduce.

currently; the Greek/Roman area is no longer under Undead control; human forces have taken back much of the area; but there are still fierce battles and undead still roam everywhere; just not during the daytime as much.

While it is not required; it would be nice to have a Greek/Roman type mythos player; a warrior or barbarian would be nice; but, you could play anything you like really as all kinds of peoples from everywhere have come to fight the undead incursion.

If you have your 1e or 2e dieties and demigods or even the 3.5 stuff; I use the those dieties in this area.

do you have any specific questions?

First I don't have those books. Second would a Fight/Rogue fit. Lastly

looking at at the discussion I saw that you gave the players there
background this is fine but I would like to have some input on the
occupation (Mercenary Company Leader) of my father the rest is not
important to me is this possible?

I would be interested joining your group. I've began reading the description page for the campaign (only the first page) and it seams like I would need a bit of help catching up though. Also I should note I'm not very familiar with pbp and most my D&D experience is with 2e and its been a while since i played even that.

If you will take a newbe who hasn't played a PbP (haven't played D&D in a long time either) I would be interested in joining. I would play a Warlord.

Anyone help out a comics noob (well, not a noob, but it's been 30 years since I last looked at a comic)? I got the Marvel Online, mostly for my kid, but want to do some reading myself. But, holy cow, do you comics guys speak English? So many acronyms, so much stuff, I can't even figure out where to start.

I read the very old Secret War series, maybe the last one I read. Attempted to read Gologotha for the X-Men - who are those people and why is the one gal nearly naked in Antartica? No idea. Any why are there 42 different X-Men series? Help. Where do I start?

If you are specifically looking for info on the x-men I would advise you to start here

Go Here. About 30 posts down Jason says its an over site.

Yup, I got how the Weapon Training Class feature works. But I was under the impression that it was put in to replace Weapon Focus & Specialization.

It sounds like you're saying that Weapon focus is still there, but Weapon Specialization, Greater Weapon Focus, and Greater Weapon Specialization are gone.

Do I have it right? I'm wondering because that's a lotta bonus if all of this is in! All totalled it would eventually be: +6 to hit, +8 damage (+8 to hit, +10 damage with Melee Weapon Mastery) with your first weapon.

I don't know where it says that weapon specialization is gone but, I don't know that its still in either but greater weapon focus is sill in its a prerequisites for Deadly Stroke.

And since you brought up the topic of favored classes, do you think it would be a good idea to let characters who take a level in a favored class choose between +1 hit point and +1 skill point?

I would second that sounds like a good idea and helps with all the classes that only get 2 skill points per level.

Kirth Gersen wrote:

I like that too.

I feel like the Gnome needs something more martial then the bard as its second choice but I don't really think fighter or any of the other core classes is the right choice maybe the new class they have planed will do it.

I agree that rude is subjective but you can be honest, not like something, and still be polite. I agree that the comments were more whining then rude though.

Am I the only one not seeing this? Honestly, it aint that bad.

I think you have been at the center of too many 4e debates and have just grown a very think skin for it but I could be wrong I haven't been on these boards long enough to say for sure.

An idea for how to handle start hit points is rather then use the racial method that type casts races into classes is to just multiply the con bonus by 2 at first level. This way an elf barbarian would get more then then an elf wizard but not, much less then a dwarf barbarian.

Saurstalk wrote:

Orc. +2 Wisdom? Would +2 Constitution be more fitting these warrior beasts?

Not if what they are trying to do is one bonus to a martial stat and

one good bonus to a spell casting stat like I think they are.
