![]() The Nation of Kathalphas, consisting of the Chaotic settlements of Aragon and Freevale, resigns from The War of Towers Non-Aggression Pact. We found The WoT NAP a compelling piece of community forged content when we signed. Settlements with no towers would be training at a level lower than NPC towns. That is not the case any longer. Stifling the potential to create content in 198 hexes is not in the best interest of all players. Scrutiny of WoT NAP violations does not apply equally to all settlements. The public displays against Aragon and Freevale for the same minor transgressions other settlements have swept under the rug is not in the spirit of cooperation in which The WoT NAP was founded. Signatories holding themselves to a different public standard than the rest of the community will lead to 6 months of abuse in which The Nation of Kathalphas will not participate. Our belief is that the contest of controlling, capturing and even losing alpha six towers will generate the PvP opportunities that the system was intended to create. This does not mean that all settlements will be targeted for aggression. Specifically, the settlements of the Northern Coalition are considered allied. In most cases the towers that will be placed in jeopardy will be those of settlements that have created some form of provocation. The Nation of Kathalphas is opening its doors to players who seek to not only defend our own towers, but to compete for the towers, that other settlements are more likely to defend. Players who seek more challenge and danger than they would encounter, capturing unoccupied towers that hold little or no meaning to their occupiers. ![]()
![]() We will essentially have 2 rings to our governing structure. The inner ring will consist of the oligarchy, initially formed by and consisting of Blunt Logic members with leadership experience. How it grows from there depends on how Freevale grows. The second ring will be the advisory council. This will consist of 2 representatives from each company and representatives from our Free Agents. 2 representatives, 1 vote. The council's role will be to provide feedback to settlement managers. The oligarchy's decisions will not always line up with the council's vote. Nor will it always diverge. Settlers still have representation and they will still be heard. That's the basics anyways. It will be fleshed out in the upcoming days and presented to the remaining settlers. Then it will be hashed through, adjusted as needed, and Freevale will move forward. ![]()
![]() Ravenlute forced a vote through the Freevale council to present an NC draft. In 12 hours, without Blunt Logic rep input, he presented me with a poorly compiled document. I removed trade terms and a few other items that were not appropriate. When the document was presented, it was redrafted in The NC forums into something readable. The redraft with it's edits was presented to Freevale and was accepted with one further change. Ravenlute insisted on a change to something none of the signatories touched in edits. Almost an entire week was added to this process so Ravenlute could Unfortunately, posting this also violates the spirit op expects other signatories to exhibit. Don't speak for other signatories without approval. ![]()
![]() Pardon the dust while we are renovating and congratulations to all of the settlement winners! During the Land Rush 2 event, it became apparent that Freevale's Chaotic Democracy just wasn't as much fun or as effective as it might sound. There have been some changes to how our settlement will be governed. Freevale will still have a council moving forward but it will function in an advisory role. Blunt Logic will be establishing the oligarchy that the Council of Freevale advises. In the next few days we will get a proper settlement thread going with more detail. If you have any questions, holler! ![]()

There is nothing stopping those guilds from forming something but the settlements will need hundreds of players to survive. 20 people holding a settlement for an extended period of time is not in the design. ![]()

Nope. You can have one of your team drop and attempt to join one of the other companies, see if the username matches something you can find. Otherwise, contact information was not required so some people are unreachable. ![]()
![]() Blunt Logic is pleased to announce a new trade partnership with our friends in Callambea. They will be producing a wide variety of fine items and we are happy to be adding their wares to our available inventory. Trade is a great way to explore common ground and Blunt Logic is looking forward to doing business with Callambea. ![]()
![]() Personally, I am content to get in game and see how it plays out. The devs don't want meaningless PvP and I am very cool with that. The different perspectives on what defines meaningless are just that - perspectives. How that is intended to play out on paper (in theory?) might be different to how it is actually executed with mechanics once we are in game. I fully expect the devs to bring it in line with their vision if there is too much disconnect or too much meaningless interaction. I would like to think the developers would consider the reverse as well. Tweaking restrictions if there are no / not enough bad guys. Please note, bad guys - not griefers. No one likes griefers no matter how hard they fight while going down. That's what I see these discussions and crowdforging in general as representing. The opportunity to have our voices heard should it not go exactly according to their (the devs) plan. Presenting ideas was never a demand, just a discussion. ![]()
![]() Are you a bard looking for an audience? Freevale! Are you drunk and can't find your way home? Freevale! Maybe you have heard about Loin Cloth Wednesdays and are intrigued? Freevale! Did you like Snakes on a Plane? Freevale! Freevale is looking for more solo, duo, and small group players to join our C/N settlement. Taverns, free men, barbarians and legitimate businessmen. Check us out and if you have any questions, ask! ![]()
![]() I believe everyone signing did so with the understanding there is more to figure out. We are attempting to make this work and every party is operating in good faith. The game is under development, some specifics are just not knowable at this time. We all share a common interest in map location and game play goals, such as meaningful PvP. ![]()
![]() I do not envision Freevale as a FFA type settlement. Blunt Logic as a team loves PvP but we don't poop where we sleep. There is going to come a time when we will all need to defend our homes and our neighbors homes. It will be a lot easier to rally my friends and neighbors if I do not spend my time robbing and killing them. Make new friends and kill them is basically: PvP hard but don't hate the person behind the keyboard. I would rather be able to chat with someone that beat me soundly and consider friendly than hate on them. That kind of PvP is healthy and keeps people coming back. On a general note, I agree. No need to rush. I will be around later this eve - 8pm EST-ish. If you want mumble info, etc. just shoot me or Gabriel a PM and we will get it to you. ![]()
![]() Blunt Logic is recruiting!
Blunt Logic seeks to be a chaotic force in the battles and happenings of Pathfinder Online. Which side of the battle we join is usually settled by lots of beer and a coin toss. Blunt Logic will be focusing on small group PvP, grey market trading, wet work, and drinking. We will do our best to make sure Good and Evil in PFO are kept in check. There are no race or class restrictions to join. The majority of our current membership resides in North America. You can check out our website right here. Post, say hello, and give me a reason to add private PFO forums sooner rather than later. We are attempting to establish a settlement. You can check out Freevale here. ![]()
![]() Settlement: Freevale
Charter Companies:
Blunt Logic is looking to establish the open membership settlement of Freevale. We are not interested in mandating or micro managing anyone's playtime. This new settlement will be an ideal home for individuals and small groups who aren't looking to live in a metropolis under the boot of authority. Freevale will be allowed to grow as organically as possible. Clearly, members will need to have a desire to defend their settlement. We will start with the basic services that are required to maintain that settlement. Beyond that, everything is open to change. Consider it crowdforging a settlement. Freevale will grow in the direction it's members desire, no changes barred. Current members have a desire to shape the settlement into a grey market outpost. Freevale will launch focusing on achieving that goal. How it shapes up is for the members to decide. You can help build Freevale by Joining Us here! There is no obligation to maintain membership with Blunt Logic. Joining us on the Goblinworks site helps us place in the Land Rush event and establish a settlement together. We will, however, provide chat / forum / voice comm space to citizens of Freevale should they want it. |
