True I was never much of a programmer but I realizs a lot of macros are involved in that tool. All these true/false/if/then etc...
I digress but must share this with you.
One of my friends looked at ToS and said, I don't need this I can calculate this on my own. So as a test, we looked at his sheet and found several errors in his character. Some to his advantage and some to his disadvantage. So he was not cheating he just made several miscalculations.
ToS resolved that.
So where PFRPG version 2 is concerned (if that is it's real name) you have to admit that the math is a lot easier to figure out. Less bonus stacking issues if you get my drift. The whole grappling issue without the CMB and CMD seems a lot simpler to my taste in this version.
reading this brings to mind another thought. In the Laptop sheet, or whatever is will be called, since the alchemist can give potions to other characters, this would imply that you would load the effect and specify the level of potion, elixir and mutagen..... You've got your work cut out for you!

Chain mail is noisy.... realy!?! And plate isn't!?!
I think we have different notions about what is noisy and what isn't.
I don't like the fact I have to spend an action to use a shied either....
I don't see the point unless it's to make me use an action, which only leaves me with two.

All kidding aside, I just love those errata stating things like : cross out the last sentence of the last paragraph and write in this whole new paragraph. My core and complete books look like a mess with all of that poorly written scribble.
Reminds me, back in the old days, Unearthed Arcana had so many corrections I just Elmere'd the corrections directly over the errors but realised I could no longer proberly turn the pages. Big mistake there.....
Make fear... fearfull. A few levels and poof, the paladin ain't scared of nuthin.
Review spell resistance so that 10th level casters don't find most of their offensive spells useless against foes of that level. Personally I prefer the old percentage magic resistance systance. At least you could cause some damage...
rework the all or nothing spell effects which are avoided with a easy to make saving throw at higher levels.
What worries me the most is the statblocks changes for monsters or whatever you want to call them. I cringe at having to put aside a bunch of Bestiairies in order to buy new ones. If it comes to that, maybe make bigger books......
Well, I do suffer from Metathesiophobia (look it up) but that being stated, I have preordered everything in the platest offer (softcover mind you) At the very least, if I dont like it, the flip mats will still be of use.
@DM Alistair
Would you settle for PF1.5E? LOL

For me, it was because when WoTC hyped their upcoming 4.0 and told us : «in the meantime, keep playing and buying D&D 3.5.» Only to find out later thant the 500$ worth of stuff I bought from those dweebs, would not be useable with 4.0. So I stuck with Paizo and Pathfinder and never gave WoTC another dime.

Late comer to this thread and sorry if this is a repeat question...
Will this be retro-compatible with version 1, or is all my stuff now useless à la D&D 3.5 to 4 a few years back.?

IM a latecomer to this topic so, sorry if I repeat something said before....
I have a frustating problem with some of my fellow players. They have been playing for a while and still have probems grasping some of the mechanics and sometimes make poor choices in their feat lists. They also just, plain forget abilities and powers during crucial points in the adventure.
The best example is when a player forgot about mythic surge which would have allowed him to his some big baddie. I sorta reminded him about them and asked, «did you or did you not read the book.» The answer was «No, I dont have the book, only a pdf.» I then asked if he read the pdf from beginning to end. « No, he said, just sporadically. If I need to check anything I do it online.»
I indicated that the fact he never read the whole text is the reason he has a hard time to remember stuff, to which he replied, «I don't want to read a 300 page document on a computer.» Who would?!?
IMHO a pdf is a tool that can be used along with a book for quick lookups, but in order to grasp the whole concept of the game you need the book unless you want to sit in front of a computer for several hours which I don't.
For DM's the pdf is a good tool to annotate and allows you to print maps and tables or player handouts, without recking you book. This is why I love Paizo's AP's where you get both (if you subscribe of course you get it for free. Woot!) I Also like FGG's wares because if you order their books you get a free pdf also.
Besides, when you run out of power on you tablet, or laptop and you have a power failure, at least you can light a candle to read. :-)
As a consumer, I don't see myself buying Slumering Tsar in pdf form only, for example, and read the massive thing on a computer. If not available in print, I would look for something else.

Protection from Evil wrote: First, the subject gains a +2 deflection bonus to AC and a +2 resistance bonus on saves. Both these bonuses apply against attacks made or effects created by evil creatures.
Thanks
Does the bonus on saves apply to all spell cast by the evil creature.
Example : vampire casts fireball at party. Bonus of no bonus on the reflex save?
Sorry if this issue was adressed previously but this messageboard is getting to be quite big!
Is this available in print or just PDF?
Coup-de-grace, literally translated, has a meaning that can be interpreted as Mercy Killing. Instead of leaving your enemy to suffer a slow, painful death, you put him out of his misery. So to me : not evil.
Some have already been mentionned already mentioned:
Alcatraz
Harsh Realm
Firefly
Cliffhangers
Survivor : XXXX (insert place name here)
The biggest Loser
Big Brother
See a pattern?
Add any other reality show
I hate reality TV.

Ahh! Here is a clue I found thanks to Google : Peter Jackson has revelaed the cameo scene he gave himself in the Hobbit trilogy, playing a dwarf fleeing the dragon Smaug.
Callous Jack wrote: Supposedly he is a Dwarf in Erebor. Hmm. Guess I will have to wait for the DVD. The Erebor shots never linger for too long. The only dwarf I can think of is the one who finds the Arkenstone.
FoTR : Drunken Bree farmer outside, eating a carrot
TTT : unconvincing soldier on the walls of Helm's deep, throwing a stone
RoTK : Pirate of Umbar who bites the big one when shot by Legolas' arrow
Saw the Hobbit twice and couldn't spot him? Anyone?

At the risk of reopening the age old debate......
Dwarven women with beards was really the only thing that bothered me in the film, let alone the fact they are walking about in public. Well maybe the bird crap on Radagast's beard..... No, it has to be bearded women. Just plain stupid IMHO.
In Tolkien's world (as written in the appendices) :
Dwarven women are never seen.
One dwarf in seven is a woman, hence the low birth rate.
Only one is mentioned by name. I believe she is called Dis.
They are able to talk with deep voices which makes them indistinguishable from males when they are in the dark.
Still, it doesn't take away my enjoyment of this great movie.
The dwarves are a lot more resoucefull than in the book.
Thorin comes off as proud and strong, not the snob he appears to be in the book.
The battle of Azanulbizar was great.
Azog was meh.
Thorin's sword kick's the proverbial you-know-what.
The wargs look like wargs.
The interior of Bag-end looks great. I want to live in a smial.
Can hardly wait 'till the next one comes out.
If your native tongue is french, or if you understand the language there is a site in France with lot's of stuff. Even a module or two in the langue de Molière.

Hmmm. wouldn't know about that, sorry.
Even though I have a die roller app, I have never REALLY used it. It's there in case I am ever stupid enough to forget me dice at home. My tablet already has to many apps open at the same time, using the roller would be a hassle as you have to switch form one app to the other.
Would you know of an adroid app that could show your runnig apps in a mosaic-type window?
I have several of them. But I use Android so I don't think they are available for iPhone... maybe. Look for something called PF Battles.
So for Android
I also have iCrit, critical deck cards
iFumble is out there, but I stay away from that :-)
There's the Masterwork Tools pf Open reference (very useful)
Summoner lite : summoned criter stats free but with a paid version available (didn't check what the extra's were)
D&D dice well it's die roller, what can I add more?...
Pathfinder Npc's (not enough of those but its okay)
Spellbook
Feats
Those are about all I need right now.
Didn't like most of the initiative rollers out there so I bought the full PF Battles. It's not perfect but it'll do for now.
Also saw a few soundboards and mapping programs, but they had a meh effect on me.
Oh and as for the os, its either Apple or Android as far as I can see. But Microsoft has now come out with something using Windows 8, which I don't know much about.
So far the only that seems to make a difference is the apps you can't get because it is exclusive to tablets different from yours.
Yes you need some type of phone plan if you intend to navigate on the WWW when a Wifi connection is not avialable. This is also required so they can send you a bill.
I myself got this to help me out once I got my tablet :
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galaxy-Tab-10-1-Dummies/dp/1118228332/ref=sr_ 1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1353090991&sr=1-2&keywords=tablet+f or+dummies
Got a Galaxy tab.
Use PF battle and several apps I use when playing and DMing my PFRPG games.
Summoner lite
D&D Dice
Icrit : critical deck by Paizo
Pathfinder Npc's
Pathfincer open reference
Pathfinder spellbook
Patfinder feat index
Those are enough for me to get the tablet.
Got the Galaxy tab cuz iPad to expensive and didn't want to deal with the carriers that support it.
Right now there are probably more apps on iPad thant Anroid but things are changing, I think....
This may have been mentioned here or on another thread so, apologies if I repeat a comment previously made.
Why I don't play WoW. Saw the game at walmarts for 60 $ only to realise that you can't use it on its own. To play you had to pay for a monthy fee.
Why I play Guildwars I : because, I pay 60$ for the software and can actually us it to play.
If I have to pay to play your game, don't charge me money to download the software or buy cd's.
What I liked less about Guildwars I was the level cap. I didn't do 1/2 of the missions I recieved befor I was maxed out.
Right now, my computer is to old, but I hope that if I buy a new one, it will be able to handle PFRPG online....
It's not just a question of beer at the game, but what munchies you eat during the game.
With Jalapeno chips, something robust like McAuslan's St Ambroise beer
With popcorn, Unibroue's Blanche de Chambly
With Doritoes, Smitwicks
But in the summertime, I usually go with Miller Chill
Castle Whiterock by Goodman Games
D&D 3.5, but still quite useable
Ahnold again? Oh the horror! Oh the humanity!
Bombata, save us!
Cameron Diaz as Princess Leia.
Eh gads, whatta meesa sayin!?!?
Still no box.
Blame Canada! Blame Canada!

That's the one. Was doing this from memory from the office. My third favorite dark beer. Only available in cans in my neck O'the woods.
There are so many. Quebec also has several micro-breweies and brew pub.....
here is a list of my tops
Anything from Unibroue in Québec
Guiness, Ir
Newcastle, Uk
Old Speckled Hen, Uk
XO (cognac beer)Qc
McCauslan's Pumpkin Ale, Qc
Rickard's Cardigan Bc
Grolsch, Denmark? but only in a can
Krostinger (sp?) Germany
In the summer, when I want someting ligth in tase and and alcohol... drum roll....
Miller Chill! Yes folks, an american beer is on my list which may be surprising to some since, as Monthy Python said, American beer is like making love in a canoo.
Sadly, there are no US microbrewery imports available at our liquor stores, which is to bad because I hear there are some great ones out there.
Ravenmantle wrote: Mine's arrived in Denmark and is currently being handled by customs. I should be getting a letter tomorrow informing me that I need to cough up an extra $100 when I go to get my package. Silly import taxes... Denmark... figures. Why should I expect to have my order so soon, after all, I only live in Canada. I hate you too Ravenmantle :-P
To all of you who got their boxes.... I hate you all. (stomps of grumbling, green with envy.)
When you say any platform, do you also mean Android Tablets?
Laptop or tablet, I am definitely interested in this.
Just found this topic. This point may have been mentionned so sorry for the repeat.
I asked my players why they didn't play wizards. The responses were....
1- Sorcerers cast more spells per level even if the selection is more limited.
2- Sorcerers get familiars also
3- Sorcerers can also use metamagic feats
4- We never made a big deal about the wizard spell books so the acquisition of spells was never an issue, but it seems tedious if you apply the rules as is.
So they don't see the point of bothering with a mage when a sorcerer works just as well with more spells to cast per level.
My campaign has the same die cap limit for spells as in AD&D, i.e. certain spells have no die cap limit. Even that didn't seem to arouse any interest for the ol' mage class.... pity!
Message to all my players.... Don't even think about it. ;-)
(checks calendar to see if it's april the first)
Okay I'll bite. So where does one get the idea an animal ca use the «use magic device» skill....... What's next? Appraise?
I believe Jerry Lewis once said something like this :
To those who understand, no explanation is necessary. To those who don't, no explanation will suffice.
The difference between them and us is that we emulate a game that has a Dark Ages atmosphere whereas they still live in the Dark Ages.
As to how to change their minds about RPG's, maybe set demo's in shopping centres. Set up gaming tables and tables with arts and crafts so as to de-misyfy the games. If anyone mentions these games as vilolent, remind them that chess is a wargame.
Prejudice is hard to vanquish. My son is in a death metal band. To all those who say that his music is trash with just someone yelling at the top of their lungs to music he answers : So, opera is trash then!?!
Rune Wizard in the Scarred Lands series by White Wolf. It's a PrC iirc and might be lurking on the net.
Correct. APG
As for your other options you might still find them on the forum but as fan contributions Anything that is not SRD cannot be used as official releases by ToS+.
For example, I wanted a Hemothurge back when I was running my CoTCT AP a few years back. Couldn't find it on the forum but there is a Help wanted topic where you can put in requests. Within a day a fellow user uploaded a file to open in ToS+ so I could create Togomor for the upcoming battle. You can also ask for help for PrC's, feats, traits, items and spells.
Here-here. With larger scale maps to boot.
