Awesome!! Thanks so much. I'll keep an eye out for them. My SO might have convinced me to do Ezren instead. Either way, I'm about 2/3rds through with making her Amiri and now I'm not sure which version armor to base it off of. Damn Wayne Reynolds for more awesome pictures I need to cosplay :)

Any chance these sketches being released somewhere? I've been meaning to do a Harsk cosplay for some time and these sketches would be invaluable to something like that. I think Paizo is okay with Cosplay of their characters, right? I know WAR puts pics of them on his Facebook.

I've honestly never used AoN, though I have been aware of it for some time, but I have no feelings about this. That being said, I do have one major reaction. I LOVE that Paizo is more than willing to work with members of the community and bring them into the "official" fold. It's amazing to see that they care as much about the fans as we do about them and are willing to reward hard work with praise and inclusion instead of with C&D and DMCA notices. I love you all. Thanks for keeping the "open" in OGL ALso, selfishly this gives me hope of getting one of my adventure paths to get an "official" publication

As much as the idea of separating the two sounds nice, it would never work. As others have mentioned there would be no way to enforce it, and you would have a lot of people really upset at being "left out" and they would say Paizo is trying to silence them. But, yeah, I often want one or the other.

Just made characters with my party yesterday. With the exception of one player who went 16 16 14 14 12 8 (mostly for flavor reasons), they all got this standard array you mentioned. I think overall Paizo succeeded at a system that allows more customization (even if some of that customization is more of a promise for the future than anything currently in the book). But this doesn't really seem to work for that. Most of my players are more RP focused than Power focused, and this is still where they went in character creation.

You're an outlier. In the past two months Amazon has shipped 3 prime orders of mine a week late. I've heard similar stories from other people recently.

It makes perfect sense to me. They do the same things but they have different categories (hence Class/Skill/General). It makes perfect sense to me, just as a writer (and reader) it hurts my brain to see the repetition. I seriously can't look at the class advancement table because I just see the word feat and everything else gets drowned out. It's not the end of the world, and I fully understand why they did it. I just don't like it.

I get it, trying to cut down on a thousand different names for things that do the same thing. But, in this case, it's clunky and confusing. When you see the same word that many times it becomes background noise, and that noise is disrupting. Class/Skill/General feats already do different things, why not give each thing a unique name. Unfortunately, I couldn't come up with any good suggestions, so there's that. I guess Class Abilities, but that doesn't quite have the tone of choice. Skill Talents, maybe. |
