I apologize for being absent for a while. I had to force-disconnect myself from the internet for a while and it made doing play-by-post games difficult.
However, that is part of the reason for this post. I've realized that I've been putting way too much time into play by posts, and have signed into WAY too many games for me to reasonably handle with my current workload and changes to my life situation. I needed to cut down the number of games I am in, and this one is one of them. I am sorry. I was having fun, but these games were getting to be one of my causes of stress, and that was what tipped things for me. Thank you for the opportunity to play with you all, and I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Yep. Very helpful...
Gideon will look over the group, and patch up any remaining injuries with his channel energy excluding the doomshroud in case it isnt yet fully deceased.

okay. I think im just getting flustered.
Gideon will cast magic circle against evil and fly closer, keeping just out of attack reach as he tries to figure out how to get close enough to help Rothgar.

Gideon will attempt to Dispel Magic the Doomshroud, hoping to at least strip some of its defenses from it.

Not like I can do anything useful, anyways. Again, I feel like I'm not even able to keep up with my party, much less the enemies. Is there even a reason for me to keep playing? I'm throwing pebbles compared to everyone else.

I'm alive. It's been a rough month for me. My grandpa died, people in my family chose explicitly NOT to tell me. I just found out the funeral was four days ago. My family's pretty much complete disowned me and I'm still messed up. I'm okay to go.

Gideon speaks up. "I am Gideon Goldwater, speaker for the Dawnflower and witness to her mercy. We come in search of the Phylactery of a being of great evil, so that we may destroy it for good. We have been on the tail of a powerful necromancer who seeks to use the Phylactery for his own evil deeds, and already he bears an artifact of great evil upon him."

Gideon watches, his face a frown of concern as he holds the handful of the blue crystals for rothgar. He will lean over to Flizzibus. "Got any glue?" he asks. "Might be faster." he shrugs. "Well, unless one of you can repair it... We might have to delay further. I dislike them getting such a lead on us, though."

Oh, I should cast restoration on that, shouldn't I?
Before they teleport back over, Gideon will take the time to cast Restoration on Flizzibus. "I'm sorry for being unattentive, I'll try to keep alert from here on." he says.

Gideon sits up from his resurrection, rubbing the back of his neck. "My thanks." he says, "That was rather embarrassing. I should have been more attentive of my surroundings. Thank you for giving me the chance to come back. Our mission isn't finished yet."
He will clasp hands with the head priests and clergy here, thanking them all personally (and by name) for aiding him. When mentioned, he nods. "We have the resources, and I believe that there will be harder challenges than the ones we've met so far. We should gather more disposable items to improve our odds."
He will also use his wand of cure light wounds a few times to top off. clw:1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 clw:1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 clw:1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8 clw:1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Crisis isn't necessarily diverted, but I'm starting to cope with it. I'll be back soon, just... might take me a while to get the energy up to post rapidly again.

I should do something, huh?
Gideon, during the surprise round, will see how the attacks are planned and offer a prayer to his goddess, creating a pillar of fire in the back of the group of ropers!
Casting flame strike, centered on the back row center roper, so it gets at least the three in the back row with it's hit (a 20 foot circle). DC 22 reflex for half.

"The maze is our goal then. Too bad we lost track of our necromancer." Gideon admits, scratching his chin. "I do so love these 'perpetually on the tail of the bad guy' ploys." his tone is sarcastic for the last part.

"We have a spell prepared that will let me send up 5 of you now. But, this island is interfering with teleportation and I might not be able to send you until we resolve the situation anyways." He says loudly. I can offer your people healing and shelter for the meantime. But I assure you, we do need to move forward. Please, accept my offer. I beg you." he pleads with them. "Is there anything else I can do to prove I mean right by you?"

Gideon takes a step forward, holding his arms out to his sides, his hands empty. It's obvious he'd rather avoid having to battle them.

Boosh! Nat 20 on the diplomacy roll!
"I take it then, that you're what remains of the crew." Gideon replies. "And are you loyal to the man that drove your ship onto the rocks, just to get to this island? Did you intend on remaining here all your lives? Please, let us pass, and I promise you I will return you to a port of your choice when we're done here. You have it on my authority as one of the high clerics of Sarenrae."

Gideon nods in thanks to Rothgar. "Thank you. I knew I should have kept that water breathing spell. I'll have to be more mindful in the future."
Taking stock of the area, he points to the ruins of buildings. "We travel up the middle for now. Once we are closer, I will attempt to Discern Location of the information we seek."

As I also have heroes feast spell prepared, sure. Gideon would offer that to share with the party before they leave.
"Before we leave, this blessed meal will shore up our resolve and grant us strength for the journey ahead."
Heroes Feast Effect:
Every creature partaking of the feast is cured of all sickness and nausea, receives the benefits of both neutralize poison and remove disease, and gains 1d8 temporary hit points + 1 point per two caster levels (maximum +10) after imbibing the nectar-like beverage that is part of the feast. The ambrosial food grants each creature that partakes a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and Will saves and a +4 morale bonus on saving throws against poison and fear effects for 12 hours.

In the end I'm keeping most of my spells the same, but with a few changes for dealing with more combat and survivability. I also took speak with dead so we can try to get some information.

"Indeed. The hand means trouble, no matter where it goes. It must be captured and contained if not destroyed." Gideon agrees.
"I can only Plane shift us once, unless we have a night to prepare and pray. I cannot guarantee the spell is strong enough to pierce through whatever hides the island away, however."

"The dracolich is not our immediate concern, then. Finding the library and source of his phylactery is the priority." Gideon agrees. "Those items are shielded from scrying."
"Flizzibus is correct. We need to gather as much as we can. But, this is not outside of our ability at all. Each of us has gained much skill and talents in our time, and never forget that Sarenrae's blessings will be with us."
He will take a sip of the offered wine and a nibble of bread. "So." he concludes. "Which of us shall perform the scrying?"

"You have called upon the right people then." Gideon comforts the magister. "No undead is powerful enough to stop the full glory of Sarenrae's light. Not even the first Dracolich." he smiles at her. "You have my word."
He looks to the others. "I will need to make preparations." he says. "But now I know what we're up against, I can pray for the proper spells."

Gideon arrives on location, noticing that there's at least one personally familiar face among the three other heroes. He might have heard rumor of other, powerful heroes, but even to him an 8 foot tall dwarf is a little unusual. He will greet the group with a nod of his head and a smile.
There's a strangely peaceful aura around him. One that, while nearly undetectable, causes others looking at him to feel peaceful when looking straight at him. His clerical vestments shift gently and constantly, as if a faint air current swirled around him. Underneath his tabard and silver holy symbol is shining mithral.
"Greetings, old friends and new comrades." he speaks. "I am pleased to see that others have answered the call." He will turn to the paladin. "Fizzibus! It's been more than a few years. Last I saw you we were celebrating destroying the Umbral Tyrant... What have you been up to since then?"
He will follow the guide, turning in the ring before entering the study. He'll replace his Ring of Protection now that he's done with the teleportation ring.
