On our way back to sandpoint

male Gnome Monk 1

Hmph, could be a green dragon egg, but at the worst it's no immeadiate threat, take it, I'm good to my word. Gavrin still not 100% comfortable, grudgingly holds out the box for her. Once taken from his hands he turns to his companions and says We should be going now, we've kept our promise and that child needs to get back to his mother before anything worse happens to him, to the lady thank you for your hospitality may the fates see to you favorably.

male Gnome Monk 1

If you can show me while I still hold it yes, that would satisfy me. And once satisfied I will hand it over.

and who or what is Chayton?

male Gnome Monk 1

Were any of those creatures something I would recognize or maybe even have heard of in bedtime stories or farytales as something to beafraid of? Or just plain looked frightening?

male Gnome Monk 1

What is this box that needs to be "safe" before opening? And you still haven't revealed yourself, unless that is, this is your true form. My companions seem to think I am being rude and if so I apologize, but I am merely trying to be direct while at the same time getting along quickly. However you'll understand if after what we encountered and seeing your daughters true form, I am a little suspicious. Not that your daughter hasn't been upfront with us, she has, I am just trying my best to puzzle out what I see as a very troubling situation. So again, kindly either let us know that this is your true form, or reveal yourself and explain to us what this box is.

As an aside as quietly as possible Sehkola are you going to detect magic on her or what?

nope not assuming that at all, just running on the assumption that it could be one. Just like I don't assume her mother is a green dragon, but she could be.

still whispering And just so you know I'm working on the threat of dropping it off a cliff or just breaking it if need be. which mean elijah keep that hammer of yours at the ready. I'm not saying we aren't handing over the box, but I'm playing this a lot more cautiously than you longshanks are aparently. And can someone detect magic on this damned thing already?

That'll go over great in Sandpoint, she thought. Bringin' a dragon down on all our heads...

whispering backYes it's so much better to save our own necks and hand over some powerful evil artifact to an evil dragon, because that won't have terrible reprocussions.

Okay, small time warp to fix this. Small forested island, and I don't have a map for this place. Through experimentation, you find no way to open the box, but Sylvia doesn't know that.

thanks, worse case scenario I want to be able to throw it off the edge of a cliff so that they either have to go after it giving us time to escape, or kill us and loose the box. Barring the ability to do that I'm hoping it's smashable if that's the only thing that will keep it out of a green dragon's hands

male Gnome Monk 1
Dragonborn3 wrote:

bad assumption, right now this box is the only leverage and bargaining chip we have and I want to know what we're dealing with before I go willy nilly handing dangerous boxes to green dragons.

I tell you what, why don't you lead us to mommy and I'll decide what to do when we get there.

male Gnome Monk 1

I'm more than willing to hand over this box, but I want real answers and not this dancing around. Now what are you and what is your true form... Keep in mind that while I'm willing to give over the box, I'm also more than willing to throw it over the edge of the cliff.

sorry about the delay, I honestly have no idea why I completely forgot to check this for two days :(

male Gnome Monk 1

What is inside the chest now that she's opened it, If I see the box she described I want to grab it while she capers around since she hasn't touched it yet

male Gnome Monk 1

::perception 21::

male Gnome Monk 1

Gavrin moves closer fully expecting the girl to transform into some kind of monster once she gets that box and therefor wants to be ready to attack if that is the case.

male Gnome Monk 1

Gavrin who to this point had been quietly letting the bigjobs do their thing at this point starts to get upset

"So you can kill the goblins eh, funny that you didn't get the box yourself"

male Gnome Monk 1
Elijah Blair wrote:
"Gip that was a bit unreasonable of the goblins too. After all the goblins where stealing her stuff, what would you do if someone tried to steal from you? Or if they tried to make you leave your caves when you didn't want to?" Elijah tries to explain, "I'm torn, I feel we need more information as I think this is some sort of trap, but I don't want to risk leaving the child either."

"Oh for the gods sakes, You want to sit around listening to this flea ridden wretch talk about his stupid tribe, feel free, but I'm going to go save a child from a couple of deranged lunatic spellcasters."

Gavrin heads deeper into the tunnels storming off in the direction Gip was trying to lead us before the spellcasters interupted. As he goes off he mutters to himself about trying to teach a goblin right from wrong and how its about the same as teaching a rock to fly.

male Gnome Monk 1
Elijah Blair wrote:
"Wait a minute. I feel we are being baited here." While giving them some time to do so doesn't sit well with me, it seems it might be time to talk to the other residents of this isle and see if they could provide us with some information."

Or it could give them more time to just cast a spell and run off with the kid.

male Gnome Monk 1

Yeah that's right DB, okay, this is my last question. Oroth is visible now and I haven't heard you mention yet that he has a weapon, which will affect my choice for weapons If he's unarmed I could use one of my tools and he'll be flat-footed

gavrin takes the iron pot attached to his belt and throws it at elijah's feet. "GET YOUR HEAD BACK IN THE FIGHT BOY, OR I SWEAR I'LL DEAL WITH YOU MYSELF WHEN THIS IS OVER! IT'S NOT YOUR HAMMER BUT ITS BETTER THAN NOTHING!" I threw him the pot because while it's an improvised weapon it the only thing I have that isn't sized differently for humans so he doesn't also take the small size penalty, that was my move action

Gavrin then turns to Oroth and swings wildly "Oh please bigjob, by all means continue to ignore me!"

::attack d20+3=5::

but Oroth used the time gavrin wasted on getting the pot to elijah to step just out of range of Gavrin's swinging fist

male Gnome Monk 1

hey dragonborn can you post the new initiative I haven't seen oroth or hectate go yet and it's back to my turn but I don't want to skip them.

male Gnome Monk 1

Gavrin closes behind Oroth putting all his weight into a jump kick that he puts all of his weight into. (charge if able if he's too close to charge just normal jump kick) ::Jump check d20+6=21:: ::Attack d20+3=21 (if charge d20+5=23 and my AC will be 13 for the round):: ::damage d6+2+5::

hee hee I'm f!*&ing this guy up

male Gnome Monk 1

Are they revealed now?

male Gnome Monk 1
Dragonborn3 wrote:

The knee crumples under your attack, and it retreats into the darkness.

I just like this because the knee retreats into the darkness leaving the rest of hectate behind to fight lol

male Gnome Monk 1

Gavrin goes for a shot to the guys kneecap ::Attack d20+3=23 nat 20 b@&%~es:: ::Confirmation roll d20+3=19::

Did I just bust the dudes kneecap? I think I just busted the dudes kneecap, was that a confirm?

male Gnome Monk 1

So does that mean I can see anything yet? I have Kora's Torch and Shekhola's light all within 15 ft of me.

male Gnome Monk 1

Hey guys thanks for the well wishes because they must have worked, the fever broke last night, and while I'm still working out the dregs from my system I'm 95% better, two days faster than my wife recovered from it. I guess I got a +1 morale bonus to my fortitude save because of you guys :).

male Gnome Monk 1

ok I know this is out of order but I have the flu and I don't know when I'm even going to be online again (baaad headaches and body aches make sitting at a computer not fun) so just consider this a onetime thing. After lashara goes I'm going to step forward in the direction i saw the dude step back before it all went black then I'm going to try and hear him out so I can attack him.

::perception d20+2=4::

Failing to hear anything after stepping forward Gavrin decides to wait till someone gets the light back.

once again sorry but considering my eyes are watering just by looking at the screen and I don't know when I'll be better I don't want you guys waiting 3 days to hear from me

male Gnome Monk 1

::initiative d20+2=8::

I think that dragonborn meant they take a 5 foot step back and cast darkness. You don't have reach do you Elijah?

male Gnome Monk 1

Gavrin charges and jump kicks the boy doing the speaking ::Jump d20+6=14, attack (charge) d20+5=24, damage (non-lethal)d6+2=3::

the goal is to end the attack where I threaten both of them so that if they attempt to spellcast I can react.

I don't take kindly to threats boy Gavrin says after the swing.

male Gnome Monk 1

Well without getting into semantics, I made a threat not a suggestion, and it got us exactly what we needed, we need to head to the "twins chamber". As to what to do with the goblin well I know what to do with the goblin, but I want to find out who or what the twins are first, and if there are more of those acid blooded creatures second.

and if anyone has a healers kit I can bandage wounds well enough, I used to be a doctor

male Gnome Monk 1

Be assured goblin that the paladin speaks for himself only if you don't answer our questions to my liking, where's the boy?

Gavrin says as he removes the piton he threw from the singers body and cleans it on her clothing. He then stands cracking his knuckles while glaring menecingly at the goblin

male Gnome Monk 1
Lashara wrote:

"What does it take to make these creatures understand they can't win?"

An axe through the skull!

male Gnome Monk 1

as the goblin in front of him falls Gavrin turns to see the last two standing goblins, recognizing the singer as the source of the aweful music Gavrin throws one of his climbing Pitons at her then closes with her

::attack roll d20+3=19::
::Damage d4+2=6::

if that makes her fall he closes with the last standing goblin

male Gnome Monk 1

I still don't know how much damage I took

male Gnome Monk 1
Elijah Blair wrote:

Um... Kora didn't you say you are flanking with Garvin? You are playing a rogue right? What happened to your sneak attack damage?

it's entirely possible she rolled terribly say a 1 and a 2, that's why I always try to show my math with the rolls so people know what I'm dealing with. Hey Dragonborn can you from now on post damage if you aren't sure if we are hit or not, that way we can just record it ourselves and not have to post a response waiting to see how much damage we took, I mistook elijah's damage as mine. I still don't know how much damage I took.

male Gnome Monk 1

My AC is 15 so I got hit, as a side note though, I couldn't really use the armor as a weapon cause the goblins were still wearing it, I could have used the goblins themselves though :P

male Gnome Monk 1
Elijah Blair wrote:

"Let's not get all fancy people, just get put them down." Elijah shouts while smacking another goblin

Gavrin says as he ducks a random blow I've been fighting groups at a time since you were in swaddling clothes young man, so if I want to fight my way, you just let me fight my way, I like to leave an impression, it means they're less likely to try it a second time.

male Gnome Monk 1

::Init d20+4=10::
remember I have the body for cover against ranged attacks and I can't wait to hear the descriptions of the looks on the faces of the goblins when they realize they ran barefoot through acid :)

Come and get me you vile horse loving dog humpers!

Kora Oaks wrote:

"I can." Kora pulled out one of her torches, ready to light it with her flint and steel.

Go ahead and light that torch now and just be ready to throw the torch on the oil. I don't think the goblins are going to be suspicious of us having a torch in a cave, and I'd rather not miss the opportunity because the flint doesn't strike.

male Gnome Monk 1
Db3's Astral Projection wrote:

Does anyone know where Kora is?

Quick Q: Gavrin are you in the oil?

no, the oil is at the mouth of each tunnel with acid in the mouth of the third. I am standing in the room in a position to be seen by enemies coming from any of the three tunnels. That's why she needs a ready action so that she can blast them cause otherwise they'd be past the oil and attacking me before she could light it.

Is there anyone else capable of lighting up the second tunnel if need be?

male Gnome Monk 1

If he has time Gavrin stands in the center of the room clearly visible by all three tunnels and grabs one of the goblins to use as cover if they try to pelt him with arrows.

Lets teach these goblins the price of stealing children shall we?

do we need new initiatives or are we using the old count?

male Gnome Monk 1

Elijah take my pick and drag this thing to the third tunnel, then fill it with as many holes possible, you may get splashed with it's blood so be careful and don't get too hurt, but make sure that things blood is running all over that tunnel entrance when these goblins come attacking us. They may come at us in numbers but they'll have to wade through fire and acid to even get to us. gavrin leans his hip out so that Elijah can easily draw it from his belt since I've already used my move and standard action this round.

In the meantime as many of you bigfolk who can do your job from out of sight get behind something so that they see small numbers and a gnome. We want them as confident as possible when they come down these hallways so they don't hang back and try to pick us off at range.

male Gnome Monk 1
Dragonborn3 wrote:

Your right, this is confusing. Okay let's say this.

1: Whoever hit it next would have killed it.
2: It was a group effort.
3: I'm telling the truth in number 1 & 2.
4: You have one round to prepare before the goblins that were close enough to hear the battle arrive.

What are you doing?

** spoiler omitted **

Well darn it, you know in preparation for my turn I had rolled an acrobatics check to jump and kick it in the head, I had a 21 on the acrobatics, a 20 to hit and a 6 on damage, and that was a really cool visual cause the dice sided with me :( oh well Gavrin examines the dead creature what is it, anything noteworthy about its body (what was causing those reflex saves) ::Heal check d20+6=8::

Then I will fish the 2 flasks of oil out of my bag and hold them out to the group. Okay someone take one flask each and coat the floor with the oil, lets set us a crude goblin trap, anyone else got some oil or are we just going to funnel them to the one tunnel. Lashara when some goblins stand on the oil go ahead and hit it with your fire bolt be ready to do it as soon as some goblins are standing over it ready an action. The rest of us will hold position and make sure that as many goblins are standing over it as possible when you fire it.

male Gnome Monk 1

I tumble roll away from the creature grabbing the dropped dogslicer as I roll ::acrobatics d20+6=14:: dang I think I just took an AoO my AC is 15 so he missed me, but now he gets another attack now that I'm 10 ft away from it I throw my dogslicer ::d20+3=20:: ::damage d6+2=6:: What in the nine hells is this thing.

I just fought kythons from the bovd in my last campaign which look surprisingly like the alien, so this is very familiar to me

male Gnome Monk 1

::Perception d20+2=19::

so we're waiting on lashara and then I get to go again, and there's still one goblin standing right?

male Gnome Monk 1

Leading the charge ::charge attack d20+5=14 vs flat footed AC::
My AC will be 13 for the round, picture the running punch from the burn notice commercials, that's what he is punching like
::damage d4+2=6:: Noice :), hope I hit

Gavrin looks around to see what general stuff is lying around to be used if necessary, anything from coins to chairs to bones etc.

male Gnome Monk 1

How far away are they? can I reasonably close with them in a single round?

I say we stick to our original plan three of us charge them, and try to kill them quickly enough to prevent warning the others, Shekola you hang back and blast however is still standing after we charge.
