I'm opening up recruitment again for a single character to be added to my existing campaign. The original description is as follows:
The story is a simple start - Queen Abrogail II has put out a call for groups of heroes that will proudly travel Cheliax and the surrounding lands helping to promote stability and address local (and greater) issues. While the PCs don't know this, it is the intent of the Queen to eventually retake Traitorous Sargava and show the world that Cheliax is once again at the height of its power. In order to accomplish this goal, she has decided to use these groups of heroes to increase public trust and patriotism as well as solidifying alliances with other nations and, through challenges, strengthen the groups and determine which one will rise to the top.
For this campaign, I am looking for characters that are loyal to Cheliax at lease in the general sense. Asmodeous worship is not required and characters need not be thrilled about the alliance with Hell (though that is also fine). This is a game about the peace that law brings with it winning out over chaos. This is a game about Chelish traits - the gorwing and solidifying of power, nationalism, patriotism, and peace through strength. Characters that have backgrounds in line with those themes and strong ties to the Chelish structure (anything from former slave up to aspiring noble) will be given preference.
Our game thread can be found here
For this addition we are looking for a character with the following creation rules:
No third party products of any kind will be considered.
Attributes: 25 point buy.
Races: Any up to 15 RP.
Classes: Any except the following: Antipaladin, Spiritualist, Summoner. Paladins, while permitted, are likely to be a hard sell.
Alignments: Evil (of some kind)
Traits: Three traits, one of which must be a Cheliax regional trait or a trait from Cheliax, Empire of Devils. No drawbacks.
Starting Level: 5
Starting Gold: 10,500 gp
Starting HP: Max first level. Subsequent levels will be average.
Special Notes: The character must have Disable Device. Trapfinding is a benefit, but not required. In addition, a character capable of helping the group make decisions would be preferable. Finally, please note that we have a Skald, so someone that can at least partially make use of the STR bonus would be nice.
Application Deadline: I'm going to try to close applications on April 8th at noon eastern time. I reserve the right to close early if we get a great fit before then.
Thanks for the interest and I'm looking forward to seeing some cool characters!

Hi all,
I'm looking to fill 2 vacancies for my ongoing game. You can find the gameplay thread here.
We currently are in need of 2 frontline characters. People that can be bruisers and in the face of the enemy are desired, not necessarily "tanks" though those are fine too. My hope is to have at least one evil character among the two and it should be noted that the party is in need of someone that can either make decisions or at least help push the party in a direction when it is indecisive.
For prospective applicants, the party currently has both a bard and a skald so characters that can benefit from both of those buffs would be preferred.
From my initial recruitment:

Hi all!
This is an attempt to find two replacement players for an ongoing game. Our original recruitment thread is here.
I'll go over the basics here, but we are looking for a divine full caster and a skill-based character (preferably with rogue-like skills) with at least one of the two having social skills. It is also important to us that people fit in with the party dynamic, so please read through our game thread here when crafting your character.
Without further ado:
Premise:
Queen Abrogail II has put out a call for groups of heroes that will proudly travel Cheliax and the surrounding lands helping to promote stability and address local (and greater) issues. Kintargo, though far from the largest city in Cheliax, is still a bustling port. Ships of all shapes and sizes seek harbor at the docks and sail the nearby waters - everything from Chelish naval warships to fishing vessels to trading vessels from Varisia.
The city is a strange one, especially for the average Chelish citizen. It is much more cosmopolitan than the interior cities with foreigners and non-humans being much more common, especially among the transient population. While the slave markets are still bustling, other influences of Imperial Cheliax, like the presence of the Church of Asmodeus, are much less prominent. Still, while things seem a lot more chaotic than in places like Egorian, the rule of law remains...albeit a bit more brutal at times.
Your group has been assembled by Nicolas Gantry, a human in his 40s, that acts as an attache to the royal court. A week ago each of you, having responded to the Queen's message, were summoned to Kintargo, introduced to Nicolas, and rather hastily assembled into a functional "group". You have each been given two weeks of room and board at a local inn, leaving a week remaining on your pre-paid stays. Finally, you were given a single rather cryptic charge - investigate the situation in Ravounel Forest and report back. Nicolas leaves the group with two final things - a letter bearing the Queen's seal which he states that you should show (and open) only in the most dire of emergencies, and a piece of advice, "Don't trust the priests of Erastil. Share their faith or not, they are not your friends." With that, he departs the city, taking no questions and offering no further clarification.
No news of any other such groups throughout the nation was provided to any of you, but from the solicitation, it seems rather clear that there are others facing similar challenges elsewhere.
While I won't begin posting enforcement until Friday, you can consider game to be "on" at this point. Since people may take some time to adjust to the medium, I wouldn't go charging out of the city in the next 24 hours, but rolling (especially to gather information or the like) is certainly acceptable. Not that Kintargo is a very merchant-heavy city, so any last minute purchases are easy to make.
Hi all,
Once you've got your aliases up and running, please check in here. This is for the selected characters, so feel free to discuss ties and work out any backgrounds (as desired).
The group will be mustered in the city of Kintargo in the northern part of Cheliax and you are welcome to chat here about any trips to get there for the beginning of the adventure. I'll try to have a gameplay thread up tonight or tomorrow but I won't begin enforcing posting rates until Thursday or Friday.

Hi all!
I'm looking to run a campaign similar to one I attempted many years ago here.
PCs do not need to know each other before the campaign begins, but some ties are certainly fine and even encouraged. While I would rather not have actual roleplaying in the recruitment thread, please do feel free to discuss ties.
I currently have four players and am looking for two more. While my reserved slots aren't set in stone, I believe that we currently have the following ideas: wizard, bard, archer (of one kind or another), and the final is as yet undecided. You are welcome to keep that in mind when drawing up characters, though I am not strictly opposed to somewhat overlapping roles. Once these players have a better sense of their characters, I am sure that they will post here and offer ties as well.
Creation Guidelines
No third party products of any kind will be considered.
- Attributes: 25 point buy.
- Races: Any up to 15 RP.
- Classes: Any except the following: Antipaladin, Spiritualist, Summoner. Paladins, while permitted, are likely to be a hard sell.
- Alignments: Any non-chaotic.
- Traits: Three traits, one of which must be a Cheliax regional trait or a trait from Cheliax, Empire of Devils. No drawbacks.
- Starting Level: First.
- Starting Gold: Max.
- Starting HP: Max. Subsequent levels will be average.
Other Stuff
Posting Guidelines: Once per day.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Midnight eastern time on Monday, November 30.
NOTE: I'm particularly accepting of new players in this particular campaign. While it may be mechanically somewhat difficult and I am looking for serious characters, new players willing to discuss character choices and looking for people to help them out mechanically should feel more than free to apply. Some of the reserved slots are new to Pathfinder and, as such, if you are out there looking to start your PbP career, don't be shy about applying here!

Good afternoon,
I'm looking to add one PC to out ongoing Planescape game (using Pathfinder rules). The current gameplay thread is here for those that want to peruse it.
We've got a pretty balanced party so far (a fighter, a wizard, a cleric, a bard, and a knifemaster rogue) so most character types would fit. The big requirement is that we currently have no evil characters, so any newly accepted PC must be evil. Given that the PCs are working for the devils in the Blood War, LE is a great fit, though NE could potentially work. CE will be hard pressed to get accepted.
Submission guidelines (same as the original thread aside from alignment):
No third party products of any kind will be considered.
Attributes: 25 point buy.
Races: Any up to 15 RP.
Classes: Any. Know that I'm substantially less likely to take classes that don't fit the Planescape themes or things like Synthesist Summoners that are intended to break games.
Alignments: Evil.
Traits: Any two that aren't specific to other campaigns. No drawbacks.
Starting Level: First.
Starting Gold: Max.
Starting HP: Max. Subsequent levels will be average.
Other notes:
I'm trying to keep to a once/day posting rate though I personally often post more so am not opposed to frequent posters. I do want to keep combats to at least one round per 24 hours however so if posting slows, know that I'll take any stated intent and keep moving through the combats.
I'm going to keep this recruitment on an open ended deadline. I'd like to find someone by this Friday, March 27, but will take a submission that fits well earlier and will keep things open longer if necessary.
Look forward to seeing ideas!
You are all contacted through usual means by Gaslight and asked to meet him at his office around midday. His office is relatively small, a two room affair with a "waiting room" outside of his main office. The entire thing is designed to look menacing and speak to his affiliation with the baatezu and while the furniture is comfortable, dark colors, menacing spikes, and flame motifs abound.
On this day you are all left in the waiting area until you have all arrived. This isn't unusual for Gaslight, he is the kind of guy that always makes sure he's the last person to arrive for a meeting. Given his usual behavior, you all assume you have about ten or fifteen minutes to wait together before he calls you into his office.

Good evening all!
Please check in here when you get the chance. This is the OOC discussion thread, so take the opportunity to work out any ties you want to.
By default the lot of you are hired on through a Baatezu point of contact in Sigil, a tiefling known as Gaslight. He has something of a recruitment office in the Market District and handles low level negotiations for the devils. He's a bit of a name dropper and clearly likes to play up the power and mystery of working for the devils. He has, however, delivered on any deals made with him in the past and the baatezu, at least implicitly, seem to have empowered him to make deals on their behalf.
It is up to all of you if you've met before or dealt with Gaslight before, or if this is the first contract or service that you've done for him or for the baatezu. You are all called to assemble at his small office and Gaslight has intimated that the task he has for you will send you all to the Prime Material Plane, but hasn't given you any further details in advance.
We'll have an IC thread up shortly, but in the meantime, make any final touches you need to backstories or equipment.

Good day all,
I'm looking to run a Planescape game using Pathfinder rules. I'm mostly going to keep the cosmology of Planescape (pre the Faction War) and use the Pathfinder rules and bestiary where possible. For example, expect Azmodeus to be a powerful and pro-atheism (in heart if not in word) devil, but not a god. On the flip side, there won't be Gith and we will be using the Pathfinder fiend types.
The game is going to follow the engagement of the PCs with the Blood War. In essence, the PCs will be a group of planars that work for the baatezu for one reason or another. The story is inspired by the Hellbound: the Blood War though events may or may not touch on the adventures contained therein.
How will the game start?
PCs will be hired in Sigil by an agent of the baatezu to start doing grunt work - things will likely begin recruiting primes or assisting prime allies of the baatezu or harming the few prime assets that the tanar'ri have.
Where will things go?
As the PCs grow in power and trust, they will be assigned more important and varied tasks. Some of it will be up to the party and their skillset, but tasks may include arms running, diplomacy, recruitment of planar assets, and eventually taking part in skirmishes. And, of course, the extremely important task of carrying around holy water.
What am I looking for?
I'm looking for a party of 5-6 PCs in total with 1-3 spots already spoken for. All PCs should have a good reason to sign up for work with the baatezu even if the fiends aren't their favorite creatures. The one critical addition that must be included with ALL applications (and I think helps make this game unique) - I want to see a summary of the contract that your PC signed with the baatezu agent. The devils work with detailed documents and I want to see what your PC would have offered and what they would have received in return.
Applications should have full stats with included backgrounds. I will be taking a party that need not be overpowered, but should be mechanically viable.
Creation Guidelines
No third party products of any kind will be considered.
Attributes: 25 point buy.
Races: Any up to 15 RP.
Classes: Any. Know that I'm substantially less likely to take classes that don't fit the Planescape themes or things like Synthesist Summoners that are intended to break games.
Alignments: Any. Important, however, is fitting the theme of the game. Therefore lawful alignments will work best - I can see a lawful good planar choosing to fight against the tanar'ri, but you'll have a tougher case convincing me that a chaotic good rogue wants to help the devils kill the demons.
Traits: Any two that aren't specific to other campaigns. No drawbacks.
Starting Level: First.
Starting Gold: Max.
Starting HP: Max. Subsequent levels will be average.
I will be keeping the application period open until Thursday, February 5 at midnight eastern time.
Please feel free to post any applications or questions in this thread.

The view out of the window is a breathtaking one. The planet Mars sits far below, its high, rough mountains and deep canyons evident even from orbit. Clouds, thicker than they were just a decade ago, drift slowly across the world, betraying the hand of mankind in turning this cold desert world into a place that is almost pleasant. Here and there, the normally rust-red surface takes on a decidedly green hue where hardy transplanted genetically-engineered plants begin to take hold. As the small disk that is the sun begins to slide behind the planet, you can even see that the atmosphere has begun to take on a bluish tinge, though it has a long way to go before anyone will consider it truly Earth-like.
“The Warden-Commander will see you now,” the voice of the young executive assistant chimes out before you are all ushered into the Warden-Commander's office.
Inside stands Warden-Commander Antoine Shari. He is a relatively unassuming Malaysian man with a face that you would be hard-pressed to pick out of a crowd, and a physique that speaks of some years behind a desk. Even so, he is known for his sharp wit and mind, and seems to always be aware of anything of note that occurs in the inner-system. Some rumors say that Shari has direct ties with 4G Enterprises, who help feed him the intelligence he always seems to have at hand.
“Welcome to Mars,” the Warden-Commander says, as he stands from behind his desk. “I do apologize for the unexpected summons, but there is something I need looked into.”
On the screen is an aerial view of Mars. You recognize the massive canyon as Coprates Chasma.
The Warden-Commander continues, “If you don’t recognize this, it is the Coprates Chasma canyon. It runs nearly 1000 km from end-to-end and goes as deep as 4 kilometers in some areas.”
The image on the screen suddenly zooms in on the canyon and you find yourself dropping beneath the Martian surface. The walls of the canyon look to be nearly vertical and, as your viewpoint continues to dive into the depths of the massive natural fissure, it gets notably dark. After a few moments of darkness, lights can be seen in the distance. Then, only seconds later, the silhouettes of buildings come into view.
As the motion on the screen slows to a stop just outside what appears to be a small town, Antoine says, “And this is Presidia. It is a small insular community of independent miners and their families. It is also home to a couple of atmospheric processor maintenance teams, some merchants, and mechanics.” The older Warden pauses to wave his hand dismissively in the air, “and all the other rabble you can expect to find in such an isolated location.”
Shari punches a few keys and the image of the screen shrinks as it is replaced by a new one – a video stream. It shows the head of a man with graying hair, a short-cut beard, and skin that has been leathered by harsh Martian winds. For a moment, he seems frozen in time before the stream begins to play.
“I’m Sheriff Fielding. I’m what passes for the law in Presidia, and I think we may need some help. You see, there’s a bunch of things that’ve gone missing around here. It was just small stuff at first, but later people started reporting that their pets had gone and wandered off. Pets don’t normally like leaving for long here, because it gets awfully cold at night. Not that day and night are much different round these parts, except for the lights.”
The Sheriff pauses for a moment and looks off-screen for a moment. He then says to someone unseen, “Shut up! I’m on the call. We‘ve been over this. I ain’t got a clue what’s going on and people are scared.” He pauses, while the someone lips off. “Get out of here before I put a boot up your ass.”
The Sheriff looks back at the screen with a slight blush. After a moment he continues, “Now, as I was saying – we need help here. Gear and pets gone missing is trouble, but now we’ve had some people disappear. I can’t make sense of what is going on and could really use someone with a bit more experience in this kind of thing.”
The image on the screen stops again, then the window closes. The picture of the town moves to fill up the empty space once again.
Looking at all of you, the Warden-Commander says, “I don’t know if this is anything for us to worry about here, but Presidia is essentially deep under the surface of the planet. It could be that their mining has stirred something up that we need to deal with before things get worse. If you get down there and it turns out to be a local problem, help the sheriff out as best you can and then get back home. If it’s something else, do what you need to do.”
The Commander leans back in his chair for a moment before continuing, “Things in the system are starting to get very strange, and I don’t know how much longer we’re going to be able to keep a lid on things.”
“You can pull any data you may need out of the network. Honestly, there isn’t much there. Presidia is isolated and the locals like it that way. Don’t expect the warmest of receptions when you get there.”
Standing, Shari signals an end to the meeting, “Good hunting and watch your backs. Remember, it’s up you to keep all this in check and protect those who don’t even know they need protection.”
You are not ushered out, though the Warden-Commander remains standing. Still, it appears that he's willing to field any questions you might have, even if he is making it clear he has other business to attend to. Should you want to look into the Warden database, it can be accessed through password protected terminals in the rest of the Warden office - none of that data is available over the internet.
Welcome to the OOC thread!
If you want to make background ties to each other, more power to you. With that said, none of you have officially worked together in the Wardens as of yet. To start the mission off, all of you have been individually summoned to the Warden-Commander's office in the orbital station above Mars. How you all got there is up to you, but feel free to post here to figure out if you want to have come together. Also feel free to talk about any specific non weapon/armor items you want if that is important to you.
So far you have been given literally no details of your mission. Only that Warden-Commander Antoine Shari has called you all for something urgent. I will begin the IC thread either later tonight or tomorrow.
Have fun!

Glad we have interest!
This is the official recruitment for my Void RPG game. For those that were not in the interest check thread, the quick start rules (by Wildfire) can be gotten for free and the Core Rules are a pay-what-you-want PDF. In addition it may be desirable for players to have a copy of the the Characters Unbound player's guide, but it is not necessary.
Character Creation:
You can make your characters through any of the three sanctioned methods presented - either the Specialties or Freeform Design presented in the Core Rules or the Lifepath system in Characters Unbound. Please just make note of points spent and a tally in your character sheet (I'll want an alias once the game starts and while I encourage it for recruitment, it is not necessary).
Talents from Characters Unbound are completely acceptable. We won't be using the Empathy or Aptitude rules presented there (so that no one is required to buy that book if they don't want to).
What I'm looking for:
I am looking to make a group of approximately 5 PCs. I have 1-2 people already accounted for, so I'm looking for 3-4 more. 5 total isn't a hard cap, but that's my target.
Posting should be the standard once per day. I often post more than that, but one a day is a good guideline. I am looking for people that are interested in the investigative and horror elements of the Void, so expect combat to be present, but likely sudden and terrifying, rather than the primary focus of the game. The game is likely to be far, far darker than your average Pathfinder and while it will adhere to the rules of this board, terrifying creatures and extremely unpleasant choices/situations are going to come up often.
Oh, and all PCs should be Wardens. How you get there is up to you.
And I might use the Achievement system presented in Characters Unbound.
Where the game will go:
I'm going to start with running Stygian Cycle I which takes place in the Martian Outback. That said, do not feel the need to be from Mars or ever there at the moment. The beginning of the adventure will get you to the Warden station on Mars. After the first adventure we'll see how things are going - I will likely weave in the other Stygian Cycle books, but am also likely to toss in some missions of my own in between.
Again, this game is going to be one in which combat matters, but preparation and investigation (both physical and social) skills matter even more. Getting into combats that you should have avoided will likely end up with dead Wardens. But fights will happen and sometimes unexpectedly, so the group will need to be able to defend itself.
Start your engines, get ready to investigate, and as always, ask any questions you might have.
Edit:
Missing critical information! Since I already have interest from my interest thread, I'm going to try to close recruitment on Friday, October 3. I'm not setting a specific time until I see if there turns out to be tons more interest, but that's a good guideline.
Hi all!
I'm considering running a game of the Void, an RPG made by Wildfire that is the spiritual successor to their Chthonian Star setting for Traveller. The core rules are currently available as a pay-what-you-want PDF and quick-start rules are available for free (if you just want an idea of what the game is like).
The setting is hard sci-fi and the game focuses on survival horror and investigation of the Cthulu-esque events and entities that have started to plague the solar system. PCs play Wardens, a semi-secret organization tasked with policing these things.
Any interest in the game? I'd tweak some things for PbP (rather than rolling defense, I'd just use the average value, rolling Initiative once per combat instead of every round, etc.). And for specifics (beyond spacefaring Wardens) I'll wait to see what people say, but I'm strongly considering running the published series of adventures that at least begins in the Martian Outback.

Good afternoon (or whatever is appropriate),
I had a thought - do GMs swap slots in their games or even the running of games in their entirety?
I have an idea for a Planescape-set game using the Pathfinder rules and centered around the Blood War. I'd be looking for a group of PCs that all individually had signed on to work for the Baatezu.
On the flip side I (and 2-3 friends) are interested in playing in a Kingmaker game that is centered around or friendly to evil players.
Any GMs interested in playing in the Planescape game and looking for a core of players to play in a Kingmaker game? A GM that's run Kingmaker before and looking to have a group of players committed to rapid posting (we can all easily do once a day and generally more) would be great. Filling up the rest of the slots with recruitment or people the GM knows is A-OK.
I'm still bandying about the idea and not really certain of anything, but figured I'd toss it out there. PM me if you think it is something you're interested in and we can talk further.

The planet Virbius is almost unknown to the Imperial Guard as, up until two years ago, it was surrounded by a vicious warp storm which lasted for more than 400 years. Now, however, the planet has become accessible again and the Severan Dominate moved faster than the Imperial Guard in setting up entrenched positions. The Imperial Guard cannot be counted out though and they have held their own, waiting for the sure sign of reinforcements from nearby regiments.
The planet itself is actually quite nice with large swaths of grassland similar to the regiment's homeworld. It is dotted with the occasional mountain range and forest though its most unusual feature is the presence of large lightning storms passing through the atmosphere. They are both terrifying and beautiful, coming out of nowhere and wreaking havoc on anything they touch. It is under these conditions that the people of Virbius live, known to be a rather primitive culture using bikes and gunpowder based firearms. They are known to have some sort of tribal culture, but no detailed information has made it into your pre-planetfall briefings.
Your regiment has landed, en masse, at a makeshift starport set just behind the front lines of fighting. There your squad is given orders to grab your gear and trek towards Forward Outpost Epsilon 12, a basic outpost held by the 37th Maccabian Jannissaries who were part of the second wave of Imperial troops to make planetfall. Maps suggest that the trip should only take approximately a day and that the roads, though close to the front lines, are mostly clear aside from the occasional Dominate recon patrol.
It is currently just prior to dawn, your regiment having made their landing under cover of darkness to limit any anti-aircraft fire from Dominate entrenchments and to conceal the number of ships landing. It is clear from the condition of the starport that the conflict is progressing less well than expected, supplies are almost all gone aside from those your regiment has brought with them and nearly all military personnel has been reassigned leaving only a few sentries and the support personnel necessary to maintain the functional spaceport.
You now have the opportunity to RP some, talk to any members of your regiment that you'd like, or otherwise prepare for the trip. You all have your starting gear with you and you are able to take up to two Logistics tests for the squad while at the starport. For those tests (for anyone that does them) your regiment is the only one at the starport (so single regiment availability) and the time spent in the front is less than 3 months (-10) while the front has been active for 1-5 years (+20) and it is a violent impasse (-10) for a total modifier of (+0).
You haven't received mission assignment gear yet, but I will tell you that you will once you get a specific mission at Forward Outpost Epsilon 12.

Hey all,
I'm looking for 2-3 players to fill out an Only War game that I'm running for friends. We are going to be starting with the adventure from the Game Master's Guide and potentially moving on from there (depending on how things go). The first adventure is a recon behind enemy lines style mission and later assignments are likely to be recon based as well.
Here's the crunch for the regiment, with discussions still ongoing about backstories:
- Fortress World - +3 BS/+3 WP, Hatred of Orks, Nerves of Steel
- Choleric Commander
- Recon Regiment - Sentinel Walker w/ Heavy Flamer
- Sharpshooters Doctrine
- Equipment: Lascarbine, Chameoline Cloak, extra rations, chrono, smoke grenade
- Favored Basic Weapon: Long Las
- Favored Heavy Weapon: Missile Launcher
Homeworld Theme: Mongol Planet. Open steppes and plateaus, trains excellent scouts and fast-attack troops. Fortress world Positioned on the border of a large Ork empire.
So far we have a Heavy Gunner (Missile Launcher), a Medic, a Ratling, and a Weapon Specialist using a Long Las.
What are we looking for?
We need at least a Sergeant or a Commissar willing to pick up some Commerce to at least be able to requisition gear through unofficial channels. We also could use an Operator and really anything else helpful (though the Operator is less set in stone).
I'm looking for a posting rate of at least one per day. Some of my players are new to PbP and may be slower, but I'll endeavor to narrate actions when needed to keep things moving along.
In order to apply, give us a brief character description and something resembling a character sheet. You don't have to have an alias for the application, but having one will definitely be looked favorably on. The rest of my players will help me in making my final decision(s).
Deadline:
Please have applications in by Friday, July 11. Sooner is better however and I reserve the right to take applications early if someone stands out.
This is the OOC thread for our Only War game. I'm going to start by running the mission from the GM's Guide and I'll let you know that it is primarily a recon style mission.
The first step is talking about regiment creation as well as character creation. Unless someone has a really strong reason to suggest otherwise, let's stick to the Core Rulebook (instead of adding Hammer of the Emperor) to reduce the number books people will need access to.
For Regiment, the only types I'm saying no to are Armoured and Drop Troops. I will warn you though that in the first mission vehicles may be a liability (particularly Chimeras, less so with Sentinels though still a concern).
For characters I'd like to see at least one Sergeant specialty and preferably more Guardsmen than Support Specialists.
Question can be asked here or in PM.
Here is the actual IC thread. Going to get started in a day or two!
Welcome to the IC thread! As mentioned I will start this up once people have checked in to the OOC thread. I'm going to try to keep things moving once we get underway, but you'll have a day or so IC to just do the getting to know each other thing.

Welcome to the OOC thread!
You guys have been traveling together for a few weeks now. You all arrive in Lurion in the late afternoon with the intention of settling for the night so feel free to not only discuss your interactions thusfar on the trip, but also how you're arriving. In addition to the tabards, the government will provide each of you with a combat trained light horse with barding bearing the symbol of Cheliax as well.
Also, keep in mind that each one of you was recommended by someone. If you haven't thought of it yet, think about who that might have been. Your PC doesn't even necessarily know who it was, and the government was looking for loyalty at all levels of society. They specifically wanted the group to seem like Cheliax wasn't filled solely with Asmodeus worshiping, racist, aristocratic humans.
Once everyone has checked in, I'll start the IC posting, but don't feel rushed on this background tying. It's more than acceptable to keep discussing it even as we start the IC work.

I'm looking to recruit ~3-4 players for a PbP game set in and around Cheliax. Two additional PC slots are already reserved.
While this will not initially be in character knowledge, Queen Abrogail II has decided to set in motion a plan intended to retake Sargava for Cheliax. The first step in her plan has been to order that a number of small groups of adventurers be assembled with the hope that one of them will grow in fame and power – most importantly, garnering public opinion in Chelish holdings while still remaining loyal to throne and the nobility and instilling fear in the enemies of Cheliax. The PCs will be one of these groups.
Important to any applications is that the character be at least generally loyal to Cheliax. While the character need not prefer the diabolical alliances, this will not be a campaign about “freeing” Cheliax. This is going to be a campaign about the idea of bringing order to lawlessness and about the fact that heroism and grandeur can and does exist within Cheliax. There will be a lot of demon fighting, lots of killing bandits, and quite a lot of protecting villages from wandering monsters. Also note that there will be a lot of working within settlements and cities, sorting out reports of sedition and treason as neighbors turn each other in. The way that the PCs deal with the populace will have a great effect on their success. So, while this shouldn't be about “freeing Cheliax”, it also isn't about killing innocents – a good aligned character that is accepting of the allegiance of the government to Hell in order to protect its citizens would fit in well.
I'll be giving additional scrutiny to any LG or LE applications to make sure that they fit with the theme of the campaign, but please do submit them. Also, characters that have good backgrounds and suggest ties to Chelish structure (aspiring Inquisitors or Hellknights, those seeking political position, etc.) will be given preference. Special bonus points for worshiping appropriate gods, from Asmodeus, to Iomedae, to Sarenrae.
Also, please note that this will likely be a mechanically challenging campaign. As such, I'll also be looking over the statistics to ensure that the characters are at least somewhat well designed with group combat in mind.
Character creation will be as follows:
• Races: All standard races from the PFRPG (Core Rulebook) and CR appropriate monster races from the Bestiery (I/II) will be allowed. Racial options from the Advanced Player's Guide (APG) will be allowed. Do keep in mind however that Cheliax is, overall, racist so keep that in mind when choosing a race.
• Classes: All classes (Base and Prestige) from the Core Rulebook, APG, and Ultimate Magic will be allowed. Any Archetype for these base classes from listed sources will also be allowed. Note that I am unlikely to accept any paladin applications, but an exceptionally well-tailored one could work.
• Favored Class: The favored class options from the Core Rulebook and APG will be acceptable.
• Alignment: Characters can be any of the following alignments – LG, NG, LN, N, CN, LE
• Abilities: Characters will be based on the Epic Fantasy (25 point buy) found in the Core Rulebook. No ability can be raised higher than 18 (prior to racial modifiers). Only one ability can be lowered below 10 and that ability cannot be lowered below 8 (after racial modifiers).
• Feats: Any feat from the Core Rulebook, APG, or UM is acceptable.
• Traits: Character's will start with three traits, one of which must be a Regional Trait from Cheliax.
• Hit Points: Characters will start out with Maximum hit points for their class at 1st level.
• Starting Gold: Characters will start with Maximum Starting Gold for their base class.
If you have any questions feel free to ask. Please post at the minimum a set of statistics (in profile preferred), a character synopsis, and a short back story with any application.
About the start:
The PCs will have been assembled in Citadel Dinyar in Isger and set to head out along the periphery of the Chitterwood. The eventual goal is to reach Gillamoor and set about cleansing it of the zombie plague as the first of the group's (hopefully) many great acts in the defense of Cheliax and its holdings. The game will start about halfway through the journey in a small town along the way. Feel free to incorporate the trip so far in your applications.
I'm looking to keep the game moving along fairly quickly, so I'm looking for players that can post at least once a day, and even more is certainly okay.
Given the somewhat specialized request for PCs, I'm going to be accepting applications for two weeks.
Thanks in advance and if you post an application and want a review/commentary, just ask, I'm happy to oblige.
