After spending 2+ weeks taking a break from social media and paizo boards (phone and laptop), I realized how much time I was spending on them. Away from them, I was able to workout with my older son after work and be more involved in family activities. I had planned to return to the boards after this time, but when the time came I was dreading it. I took 24 hours to think it over and I have decided to not return.

Thank you for the opportunity to play and I am sorry for the delayed response. I really hoped my heart would change, but it didn't. I'll be around a couple days if anyone wants to PM me with questions. Thanks again. ~Cade

Happy New Year guys. Sorry for the break. I am headed to Disneyworld for a week and then get back to daily posting. Thank you for your patience. It has been a busy holiday season and I was a bit burned out.

Cade has difficulty helping the group with the door.

Cade moves in and keeps an eye out for trouble. "Let me know if you need for me to work on the door."

Cade listens to the conversation and carefully follows Jasper.

"Both of these are potions of Cure Moderate Wounds! I think Caedmon and Viorec should hold onto them. What do you think?"

Cade takes one of the potions and thanks Tabitha. "I appreciate it. Like Dejah, I will use it on one of you if you need it."

He turns to the group. "Which way now?" He looks at Sef. "What is further in the cavern?"

Cade has the crown the skulks identified.

At Dejah's rebuke, Cade falls silent and helps look around.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

He picks up the "crown" of the main gremlin to show the other leader.

Cade chuckles at the playful banter between Jasper and Dejah. "Per. Haha. You may want to be careful poking the snoring owlbear. This one has claws."

As Dejah puts her hand on his chest, Cade turns to face her. He covers the back of her hand with his palm. He stares into her mismatched eyes. When her healing powers flow, his look turns to shock. "You are full of surprises shorty." He holds her hand on his chest for a bit with smiling eyes before turning back to the group.

Cade, winded and injured, drops his hammer and bends over to catch his breath and calm his anger. Breathing heavily again, "Great job team." He looks around assessing the damage. Smiling at Jasper, he offers his hand. "I didn't know what to think about you when we first met, but you are pretty alright. Your combat skill aided me significantly." He turns to Dejah and checks the wound in his chest. "You alright?"

"Time to die little bastard" Inspired by Tabitha and Dejah's successful attacks and reinvigorated by Viorec's healing, Cade raises his hammer one last time.

Raging/Bless/Prone: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 6 + 1 = 16
Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 4) + 6 = 15

Cade regrips his hammer and attempts to finish the prone Gremlin.

Cade swings at the first gremlin who attempts to stab him, but misses.

Shortly after his miss, a piece of metal thuds soundly in his chest. Pain courses through his body as he looks down and sees where it pierced his armor. He instinctively reaches down and attempts to slow the bleeding.

Cade moves up in front of the rifleman and readies an attack should one of the gremlins move into melee range. "Come meet your end!"

Raging/Bless: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 6 + 1 = 20
Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 3) + 6 = 14

10' in front of the group to allow them to move in the room should they surround Cade. Do we get AOOs when the move into melee range with us?

"Glad you know how to whack Gremlins, hard. Thanks for not letting them overrun me."

Cade smiles at Dejah. "And I am glad you are good at sneaking and traps. My large, clumsy self would already be dead if it wasn't for you." He bumps her playfully.

"I am good with you two leading. Keep a careful eye out for those gremlins. They are sneaky lil bastards."

Cade follows from a distance.

Cade swings as the gremlin attempts to moves away.

If it is still alive.

Cade tries to finish the pesky creature.

Cade sees the two attacking Dejah and growls in anger Rage. "You better worry about me instead of her!" He steps up and attacks the gremlin that is furthest from the group.

Raging/Power Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Damage: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (1, 3) + 9 = 13

Cade 5ft steps to get in a flank with Dejah. He attacks the one between them.

Power Attack/Flank: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 2 = 7

Cade calls out to the others. "Two here."

"I am going with Dejah." He nods to the archaeologist and falls her as quietly as he can.

Stealth: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (17) + 0 = 17
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

"Yessir I acquire certain devices for him from time to time as well as he takes me along on some of his excursions."

Cade responds, "Oh...so a hired hand. That makes sense now." He watches on while the two disarm the trap.

"...and see if we can find ourselves a bit o'trouble"

"I seriously doubt that will be difficult." Cade mumbles something inaudibly to himself and continues, "Shall we continue?"

Cade's brow furrows at the newcomer's relaxed and flirtatious tone with Dejah. He decides to keep a close eye on Jasper from here on out. "The lady's name is Dejah.", he adds matter of factly to the lanky Ulfen lad. "You did say you and the professor were acquaintances, right?"

The large, hooded human stands behind Dejah as the group negotiates with the skulks. He nods at the newcomer when he is released from his bonds. After the group heads out to look for the gremlins, he moves over to Jasper. "Welcome to the group Jasper. I am Cade. I'm glad to have you join us." He offers his hand for a shake. "Good looking weapon there." He motions to the rifle. "I have some experience with firearms, but could use some training. Maybe you could give me some tips should we find any in this hell hole."

Cade's player will probably be off the boards until Sunday ... as he is out of town for real life adventure (he posted this in another game he and I are in). I thought I'd just let everyone know in case someone was waiting on him for rp etc here.

Thank you Dejah! I thought I would be able to post this in AR, but had zero signal for 3 1/2 days.

Cade steps up beside Dejah. "I will not let her go without me. I will not cause trouble. You have my word." Cade means what he says. If they want to sense motive, Cade has no desire to harm the "people" if they do not attempt to attack his friends.

Cade follows Dejah back to the "village". He stands behind her, but tries to avoid to look threatening. He keeps his mouth shut to avoid any progress the archaeologist had made with the creatures.

Cade waits where he is to allow his other companions to attack from a choking point.

"I understand your feelings Caedmon but if there is anything that my time on this earth has taught me there are many creatures that simply can't be reasoned with its diet certainly would put it in that category to my mind. I think your conscious should be clear on this kill at least. "

Cade smiles back at the priest. "Thank you sir. Well spoken." He did appreciate the priest's words and his willingness to comfort him. He too found some solace after seeing the half eaten remains. It still did not remove the thought that he had invaded the creature's lair. Cade pondered how he himself would react if strangers entered his "home" brandishing weapons. I appreciate the man's kind words. I am glad he is here.

I know. I'm thinking about changing my devotion. ;) Just kidding. I didn't realize that.

Cade takes the potion and coins. He places them in his bag. "Thanks. You guys can keep the extra coins." He wrinkles his nose at the half eaten body. "Looks like the frog thing liked flesh. The pick axe may be of use later."

Cade stands over the mess and tries to catch his breath Fatigued. He frowns at the pile of flesh. "Thank you Viorec. I hate that we had to kill it though. We are invading HIS home." He stops and ponders the event. "It was my fault for letting him hear me. BUT...I couldn't take the chance of him attacking or calling friends once he spotted me." He attempts a smile at Viorec. There is sadness in the scarred man's eyes. He wipes the blood off in the sand and awaits the next move.

He looks over to Dejah, fearing her repulsion of his violence. Which way short stuff? Do you think you should sneak in the darkness a little bit ahead of us to spy out trouble?"

Cade moves up and unleashes hell on the poor frogman before it has a chance to attack his friends.

Cade watches the others gesture each other. He frowns at the throat slitting motion. This is probably that little guy's home. I'd hate to kill him. Cade takes the lead and attempts to sneak to the right without alerting the thing. He quietly grabs his hammer and moves. He points the right direction out to the others.

Stealth: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (2) + 0 = 2

As he kicks some rocks, he grimaces and kneels looking down without moving.

At Dejah's words, Cade lowers his gaze toward the ground. He tries to keep an eye on the creature with his peripheral vision without looking directly at him.

Cade pauses and squats low to appear less aggressive. He smiles and keeps his hands in the open, hoping the creature is intelligent and understands his body language. He whispers, "Does anyone have any clue what it is? Please try not to enrage it."

Cade responds to Dejah. "Yeah. I am." He picks up some dirt around the dead body and rubs it between his index finger and his thumb. He smells the dirt for a second before dropping it and wiping his hands on his pants.

"He's only been dead for about three days. When did the last known expedition supposedly start?" He looks at Val.

"Your pretty handy with a dagger Tabitha."

Cade leans over and watches as Dejah carefully removes the garnet from the mold.

Survival: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

Cade looks for tracks near the halfling or anything else that could give a clue to what happened. "Any of you have any idea if the mold killed him or if it was something else? Or how long he has been dead?"

Anyone have heal skill?

Cade gives Dejah a crooked smile. "Good eyes Dejah."

Cade pats Viorec on the back. "Well done." He moves over to Dejah and bumps her playfully. "You weren't too bad either. Remind me not to cross you." He cleans his hammer as well.

The flank comment in ooc was for the future, especially as you gain sneak attack.
