I roll initiative for everyone at the start of combat and will post the results in a list that looks like this:
Example 1 wrote:
COMBAT TRACKER - Round 1 - Bold may act - Map
Player A (-5)
Player B (inspiring courage)
Player C (-2, turned into a frog)
Player D ( )
Baddie (-4)
Player E (mage armor)
Player F (-1)
ONGOING EFFECTS / ENVIRONMENT
Dark green squares are difficult terrain, dim light, -2 to all ranged attacks because of increased wind.
PENDING
Will saves from everyone except Player C.
Here Players A, B, C, and D can post there actions, Players E and F cannot. The players can post in any order (Player B does not have to wait for Player A post, for example) and once everyone has posted, I will resolve all the actions in post order. The numbers in brackets represent the amount of damage a character has taken in this combat and is not the actual hp for each character. Once Players A, B, C, and D have posted, I will resolve Baddie A's action and the initiative tracker will look like this:
Example 2 wrote:
COMBAT TRACKER - Round 1 - Bold may act - Map

Player F (-1)

Round 2 - Bold may act
--------------------------
Player A (-5)
Player B (inspiring courage)
Player C (-2, turned into a frog)
Player D (turned into a kitten)
Baddie (-7)
ONGOING EFFECTS / ENVIRONMENT

Now all the players can post and I will resolve all the actions in post order as before.
