I like this alot, but her being an actual human could potentially be a mind blowing experience for players, if they don't find out on their own. It may be worth saying she managed to make a copy of her mind similar to the way Casandalee did and introduce her as a separate AI companion. Could potentially allow for the morally grey choice (my favorite kind of choice) of overwriting an evil NPCs mind to give Sidrah an actual body. Sidrah wants a new body and can tell the PCs what section of the ship had a Psychic Imprinter (in the Artifact section of the Tech Guide). The issue is tracking down that section. I may play around with this, but would probably make it high level post-campaign content. ![]()

I meant she had six lives for us to play with :) Didn't word it correctly I was tired. Like you said six seems like a good number, and I wholeheartedly agree. Fits a d6 roll neatly, also any more personalities than that could just become troublesome as fleshing out all of them could prove extremely time consuming. The main personality would of course be the oracle Casandalee, so I'll probably remove cleric from my original list, as there's some overlap there. Anyway, I just got home from work so I'll be brainstorming and hopefully come up with something or another. ![]()

You folks at Paizo have some of the best PR I've ever seen in any company. On to pressing matters (or fun ones, who's counting), Mr. Jacobs said a half dozen or so personalities, and it's as good a number as any. Considering she had six lives, Casandalee could have done just about anything. I'd probably start off with standard tropes to begin any discussion for personalities and develop them from there (easy way to round them out), like an intelligent wizard-esque personality, a brutish fighter one, a sketchy rogue, a serene monk, a wisecracking bard, and a wise cleric. It's late and I have work in the AM, so I'll brainstorm more tomorrow night, but I want to hear people's opinions on what personalities they'd like to see Casandalee have. Have at it, I'll put in more effort tomorrow. ![]()
![]() Mr Jacobs I'm in love with the idea of having them choose which personality to keep. Were any of the boons and drawbacks ever created? How about the personalities themselves, were any ever defined before it was cut? If the answer is no I'll try to make up my own, but I'd love to hear about any official / unofficial framework that may have been put together. Anything the writers at Paizo came up with would surely outshine my feeble attempts after all. Thanks for always trying to answer our slightly inane questions! ![]()
![]() Sounds like you have a funny group going. I just started up myself and when it came time to mention the Numerian fluids on Black Hill, one of my players (whose PC is a Kellid barbarian named Barek) said, "I lick it." My party doesn't need tempting to do obviously bad things. Half the party has Int and or Wis as a dump stat (25 point buy) and this campaign is really roleplay centric so they play their characters dumb. The Spellslinger, Techslinger and Warpriest of Sarenrae have to reign in the other three at all times. They actually wrestled the barbarian to the ground (took all three of them as they are all low strength 7, 10, and 12 respectively). Nice to hear you got to have a lot of fun with it though! (EDIT) Also it seems like your party has pretty well defined characters with some interesting inter-party relations and ties into the story, so kudos to you and your group. ![]()
![]() I think having both the detailed notes and video of the subject, should allow them to attempt it with either Knowledge Engineering or possibly Disable Device (maaybe knowledge of dismantling tech can give you a good idea on how to fix it), but at a -10 penalty to the check, and the usual -5 penalty if they lack the Technologist feat (or the campaign trait Local Ties which is effectively technologist). Of course I doubt anyone without Technologist would have considered attempting such a task. Either way it'll be significantly more difficult. A DC45 will be difficult to reach for most PCs, so they may need to seek aid from someone more skilled in robotics than they, which is another excellent opportunity to throw in another little side quest to find such a man. Perhaps good Khonnir Baine has learned more of robotics by examining the robots in the ruins the PCs cleared out. Good way to reintroduce a friendly face. :) ![]()
![]() Well, of course he begs in Androffan for the PCs to aid him (the obvious thing to do). His entire body and all the parts required to reconstruct him are in the same room and very well catalogued, but even with the PCs knowledge they require the notes on his disassembly in order to try to backtrack how he was dismantled, otherwise the DC is an incredible DC55 Craft Robotics. A certain scientist needs to be tracked down as he has the notes on the studies, which will reduce the DC by 10, and perhaps another scientist has video documentation on it stored in a camera which could lower the DC by an additional 10. So if both are found it can be a DC35 Craft Robotics check to reconstruct him, and as thanks he will of course offer anything up to GM discretion, such as knowledge of the Androffan people, or even up to helping the PCs for a short duration (too powerful to use for too long or the game would become unbalanced, maybe 1 encounter). Fun part is if the fail the check by 11 or more the body fails to function once again, or they fail by 10 or less they successfully reconstruct him, but damage his programming and have to fight him. Standard evil GM stuff. I like the thought of using Specimen One though, I may run with this when my group gets to this book. Of course we've still yet to begin until next Saturday, wish them luck at Hetuath! |
