What I can't see is a Gunslinger Way of the Drifter MCD into Ranger (probably going to be a common MCD and doesn't miss the level 9 boat) with Far Shot doing Rebounding Assault at maximum distance with a Spiked Guantlet.

A completely legal move mind you, to Shoot, Throw your gauntlet 100ft, and then have it return to you.

Can you even throw gauntlets RAW? They don't take up a hand and can't be disarmed so it would seem weird if you could just easily let go of one and let it fly out of your hand, especially if it's built into your armor.
It is a weapon and Rebounding Assault gives any weapon Thrown 10ft. Michael Sayre confirmed it is not disallowed by RAW upthread.

Cool, this makes gauntlets seem like one of the more fun options for drifter, allows you to use all your deeds as well as the feats that require interacting like Alchemical shot and Running reload.

Rebounding assault's silliness also goes up by a lot with gauntlets, now I'm imagining some adventurer violently flapping their arm to get their gauntlet to fly off before shooting it and the gauntlet then somehow lands perfectly back on their arm.

For the Pistolero, I see them going more for a Pirate "Bandolier of Pistols" sort of feel rather than a wild west gunglinger with a 6-shooter.

Draw, shoot, drop repeat. "Ranged doubling rings" mean that you will only really be drawing with one hand, but in practice it's all good. I would like to see a special pistol brace that has a doubling ring effect on pistols on the turn they are drawn so that we aren't just juggling pistols with one hand, but meh, that's for later.

One problem with that approach would be that by the looks of it you need to spend an hour maintaining each firearm, so if you had 5 flintlock pistols total you'd need 5 hours a day of just maintaining weapons if you don't want misfires.

I also think it would be mind bogglingly stupid to plan to throw your weapon and shoot it to get it to come back in a world where the Returning rune exists.

It's like handwaving long distance communication with tin cans on string in a setting where you can just buy cell phones.

The returning throw feat is already a thing, this is a bit more out there and could be adjusted a bit since it's really hard to visualize for non-blunt weapons, but the concept isn't entirely new. Why waste 1/3 property rune slots when you're skilled enough to get your weapon back without it.

It's like buying an egg cracker when you already know how to crack eggs.

what the general realoading text speaks about is when you have a two handed weapon, like a crossbow, you can "adjust your grip" (aka release one hand) and reaload and regrip as the same action.

you can't really do that with 2 one handed weapons because then in order to "adjust your grip" you have to basically drop 1 of them on the ground

Archetype Dual-Weapon Warrior
Prerequisites Dual-Weapon Warrior Dedication
Requirements You are wielding two one-handed weapons, each in a different hand, one of which is a ranged weapon.
You carry your ammunition in a way that allows you to reload while holding two weapons. You Interact to reload a one-handed ranged weapon you're holding. Unlike most Interact actions, you don't need a free hand to reload your ranged weapon in this way.
How does that not solve the problem of dual pistols? Its a level 4 feat. Honestly this should, or something in this vein of thougth should be the initial deed. Currently IMO Pistolero and Drifter's initial dead are too similar.

That's nice, didn't know this feat was a thing, but it essentially costs a level 2 and a level 4 feat since the dedication feat does nothing for the class, would be nice if a feat like this was added to the gunslinger's feat pool.

Reloading strike really does feel kind of mandatory with way of the drifter, having to drop/stow your other weapon between every reload seems super clunky.

I want to use running reload with the drifter since it seems like it's all about dashing all over the place while shooting and stabbing people, but it seems mostly useless since you'd need an action to stow your sword, use running reload and then use an action to draw, the same amount of actions it would take you to drop your sword, reload, pick up your sword and then move (or move first before dropping), a pistolero dual wielding pistols has the same problem with running reload.

I'd love to see a lower level feat which allows you to reload one-handed firearms without a free hand provided you're holding the firearm you're planning to reload, that would make the both the drifter and a 2 gun pistolero feel way better.
