The Shoanti Fighter in my group decided he'd get drunk one night.
I, as the DM, decided that he woke up married.

Now, he doesn't recall how it happened, but it happened and now he's got a nice, big strong Shoanti Barbarian for a wife. I want to try to depict this relationship as less of a caricature (which is what we've done so far, you know, talking about how she'd be waiting at home with a greataxe, asking what he's doing out so late every night in the dungeon, etc.).

So, my question is: What might Shoanti marriage be like? Do they often spar together? Maybe horseback riding is something they can both do together? Would she accompany him on his adventures? (I frankly don't see a reason why she wouldn't) What is socially expected of a Shoanti spouse?

For some reason I think gender stereotypes are different for the Shoanti, after all, this woman likely has a shaven head, is heavily tattooed, and can likely beat her spouse in an arm-wrestling match. But at the same token, that doesn't mean she has to be unattractive, right? I mean, she's also likely good at fighting, good at tracking, good at maintaining weapons and armor and her bod is probably in pretty good shape. Women who are strong don't all look like freakish bodybuilders. Most of them, in reality, just look really attractive. Think Red Sonya (or Red Sonja, I can't tell them apart).

Anyways, I'm just going around and around on this so I'd like some other perspectives. How could this relationship be different and awesome? What kind of things could one expect from their Shoanti spouse?

Thanks in advance,
