I’m also disappointed with this model. Sure, it’s exciting that so many people want these but the frenzy to get the hot singles quickly, before they are imprisoned in the "Unavailable" tab, but this also seems to drive up the price. For example, the barrels, crates, and the Quivering Cube are hot items (sold out) and – is it just me - the price is high. I still have not purchased the Bubbling Cauldron from Dungeons Deep nor would I for $9.00. At other retailers that are often less expensive they’re following the same demand-based pattern. Prices for this release seem high everywhere...if you can get them at all. It was not long ago that I started buying Pathfinder minis. I’m learning that when I feel this type of push-to-buy my response is not to spend but keep my money. I’m buying less of these with every release. My wish list items have grown to the point that I now ignore it.

I am NOT ready for a big change and hope Paizo does not make a v2. I love what they're doing. Maybe, just maybe when they branch out into Arcadia or Tian-Xia I would enjoy seeing a rehash; even then...no. Personally, I came to this party late and have made significant investments to catch up with their products. If they made a sudden change I would probably move on. Well, who knows but it's possible. Generally, it seems like a bad idea. I can't detail that better than some others here but it seems they would be making the same mistakes as other companies. Don't you go a changing, Paizo, not when things are working!

Some areas I'd like to see stories unfold in would be Lastwall (Vigil, Belkzen), the Crown of the World (what the heck is up there?), the Mwangi Expanse, the Five Kings Mountains, Qadira, Osirion, and especially the Mediogalti Islands. Classes I would like to see include a thief class, spell casters, a druid, or a ranger. It would also be fun to see a story that started with a humble character as they get drawn into the life of an adventurer or Pathfinder at a young age. Ideally we could then follow that character as their adventures increased in scope and challenge. Other classic Golarion ideas would include political intrigue, the double agent, the coming of age story, or more about the inner-workings of the Pathfinder Society. A family drama steeped in local lore would tickle my turtle, too. Strong female lead characters would also be interesting.

Is there any future chance of a GIANT sized map of the Inner Sea World? While not everyone would purchase such a map it would be fantastic. I'd jump at the chance for a - preferable rolled canvas with more detail than the current Inner Sea World Map Pack - huge rendition of the world. GaleForce9 makes some like the “Eberron–Continent of Khorvaire” Vinyl Campaign Map 30” x 42." Something even bigger, of course, would be lovely :) Just curious. Thanks in advance for any insights you can offer.

There is no way to argue that posting the dwindling stock info is not a service. It is. Sure, my initial knee jerk reaction was "aww shucks" because, if I want to fill in the many holes in my collection (started just in June), I may have to drop money that I had not intended. At least now I have options. I can prioritize. I will have to take chances that I will miss an issue here or there but at least I get a head-up. Like another poster said, the alternative is to just wait until they run empty. The 2008 Crimson Throne series (7-12) is a good example of why this works as a service. Chapter 2, which I don't have yet, is listed as fewer than 250 copies. Amazon states this about issue 2, "Currently unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock." I can wait on a newer issue. I ordered a copy yesterday. Pure coolness. Service useful. I didn't drop a grand. I don't feel screwed over. I feel informed and made a decision because of it. Vic's post (linked by Joana, above) does a pretty good job explaining Paizo's rationales. It's not ideal but let me tell you, it's way better than the old days of calling stores and driving around never knowing if you would find what you wanted. I'll take it!

At this point I would say NO, never enough. I too am overwhelmed with the sheer amount of material but its fun! It's interesting to hear that veterans are as well since I JUST discovered them (2012) so it's all new to me. I am just getting back into this (as a collector until the kids get older) after many years off. I've left Wizards of the Coast behind for my new love of Pathfinder. Like many have said, now I just need more time! Nonetheless, I would love more options. |
