Actually that is something I had not considered. Ren is supposed to get two free spells at level up, but it does occur to me that they do kinda sorta need to come from somewhere, especially given how we are in the middle of exploring a ruined keep and all. As for Ren giving Jon a hand and some pointers, I am certainly all for that. On a related note, here are my choices for level 2: Class Feat: Cantrip Expansion Skill Feat: Recognize Spell Spells: Cantrip - telekinetic projectile; 1st - grease

Hmm... Probably going with Cantrip Expansion for the Class Feat. You can never have enough spells after all. For the Skill Feat, not really sure. Alchemical Crafting (though I could get this with the Alchemist Dedication at some point and I am interested in this particular Dedication feat), Arcane Sense (essentially an additional cantrip slot, as detect magic is pretty useful), Quick Identification (not really sold on this), Recognize Spell (I do have the Counterspell class feat after all) and Trick Magic Item (not so sure about this either) are what I am trying to decide between. And then I have to check the spells to choose two from. One will probably be the telekinetic projectile cantrip. Now for the other... I am open to any and all pointers.

Things seem to be going well over here, though we were on almost complete lockdown for about a month and a half up until ten days ago. Cases, at least confirmed ones, have dropped significantly, including severe and critical ones (i.e. those that require an ICU). So, since last week, the powers-that-be have slowly started to re-open the country, a process that is expected to take between one and two months to complete, probably closer to the latter rather than the former. Of course, backpedaling is not out of the question if deemed necessary, or so it is said anyway. There are the occasional... "spurts" of confirmed cases and the positive cases are quite possibly going to rise with people leaving their homes again, but that is to be expected. At least testing capability appears to be growing and improving, among other things with the inclusion of both the public and private health systems' mobile testing units (basically cars with several testing kits on board, a driver, a health professional and the necessary PPE) that take samples without the person needing to leave their home. Furthermore, flu season is more or less over and the weather is warming up considerably. Both of these conditions should help the health system to withstand the new patients in need of hospitalization that are bound to appear in the coming weeks or months. Patients that hopefully will be manageable in number. I suppose we will see.

Exactly what I would have done. Thanks. Sorry for being a bit MIA these past few days, but I have been at home taking care of our two-year old daughter amidst a wee bit of a lockdown while my wife has been working at the hospital (also a doctor). Grandparents were unavailable due to a medical emergency (thankfully nothing too severe, but it required a bit of hospital stay).

I'm a lab tech, so that means they'll test me (as of now they don't test everyone with symptoms, only the worse cases), so I'll know for sure. Though I don't know when, as the office at my hospital that handles that has been most unhelpful. I'll keep checking the game as I'm able and I feel up to it. Pretty much what it appears to start happening here as far as testing goes. Take care and get well soon!

Still around by the way. Just a wee bit tired -mentally, not physically so much- because of the whole situation. Being a GP, albeit a private practice one, and trying to stay informed day by day on one hand while trying to basically do triage and give medical information over the phone (who stays at home and who comes to me for a physical or goes to the hospital) due to the guidelines here is, I must admit, a bit draining. On top of trying to keep healthy mostly so I do not inadvertently pass IT (heh...) to less, shall we say, sturdy individuals, such as older relatives or those with prior conditions, does stress me out a bit. All in all, what I am say is that my posting is going to be pretty much hit or miss for the time being.

No worries! Health is paramount, so better to take care of yourself rather than the game. As Joana has said, good to know you are at least semi-OK and I wish you the best and to get rid of the semi- as soon as possible! On a related note, if you do wish to discuss your condition -I am a doctor myself- my PM box is always open and you are always welcome. If not, that is also fine and dandy! Once more, take care of yourself and we will be around, I am sure.

Sure, let us go with staff. It is appropriately wizardly, yes? :-) By the way, as far as skills go... CRB wrote: A character gains training in certain skills at 1st level: typically two skills from their background, a small number of predetermined skills from their class, and several skills of your choice granted by your class. This training increases your proficiency ranks for those skills to trained instead of untrained and lets you use more of the skills’ actions. Sometimes you might gain training in a specific skill from multiple sources, such as if your background granted training in Crafting and you took the alchemist class, which also grants training in Crafting. Each time after the first that you would gain the trained proficiency rank in a given skill, you instead allocate the trained proficiency to any other skill of your choice.

The total modifier for trained skills is basically character level + relevant ability score modifier + 2. That +2 at the end is the Trained bonus. The proficiency bonus it mentions is basically level plus Trained/Expert/Master/Legendary bonus (+2/+4/+6/+8 respectively), whichever applies.

Question regarding the following (emphasis mine): Universalist Wizards (Core Rulebook) wrote: Instead of specializing narrowly in an arcane school, you can become a universalist wizard—by studying all the schools equally, you devote yourself to understanding the full breadth of the arcane arts. For each level of spell you can cast, you can use Drain Bonded item once per day to recall a spell of that level (instead of using it only once per day in total). You gain an extra wizard class feat, and you add one 1st-level spell of your choice to your spellbook. Is this in addition to the five 1st-level spells a 1st-level wizard has in his spellbook? The text is more or less identical to the equivalent entry in the other specific arcane school entries. For example (emphasis mine again)... Transmutation (Core Rulebook) wrote: As a transmuter, you alter the physical properties of things, transforming creatures, objects, the natural world, and even yourself at your whim. You understand that change is inevitable. You add one 1st-level transmutation spell (such as magic weapon) to your spellbook. You learn the physical boost school spell. However, in the entry titled Sample Spellbook it seems to indicate that you only get to have an additional known spell in your spellbook if you are a specialist wizard.

Regarding no. 1, I am assuming the bonus language depends on the region the character is from? Even so, is it supposed to be a human regional language, such as Varisian or Shoanti and so on, or can it be any language spoken there, such as Infernal for Cheliax for example? Case in point, what should Ren's bonus language be? Regarding no. 5, I thought as much I even made a thread asking about it, but generally those that answered thought it was correct rather than a discrepancy. As far as Irenaeus is concerned, I just have to decide which class feat to remove. Probably Widen Spell as I do not think it will see as much use as Reach Spell at these low levels and I think I want to keep Counterspell and Hand of the Apprentice as options. Besides, there is always the option of retraining later if needed. Also, mostly out of curiosity, but how old are the various PCs?
