Repostion + AOO

Rules Questions

If my PC is riding a combat drone and the drone successfully uses the combat maneuver reposition to move the foe they are adjacent to, does my PC get an AOO?

Can the same be said for Bull Rush.

Does the drone also get an AOO?

I believe the answer is yes and yes.

So at level 1 if my mechanic and his drone are adjacent to to their foe and the drone successfully repositions it they both get AOO's. On top of that the mechanic can then full attack if using a reach weapon, giving them 4 attacks in one round.

Hmm, I was going to say that forced movement doesn't provoke AoO. Then I thought I'd check AoN since I'm away from my book and I can't seem to see anything that says that.

So either its something from PF1 that I am presuming for SF, or I just cannot find the relevant rule at the moment.

It's in the FAQ.

That's why Vanguards are pretty solid DDs.

Bull Rush or Reposition and AoO.

Yep, assuming the combat maneuver works.

And with a drone trying to perform that maneuver, since they have mediocre starting attributes, neligible attribute growth, and fewer possible specific bonuses to maneuvers than a PC can get, this ends up being something that's great when it works, but that has a significant chance of failure.

Be sure to slap an Opportunistic fusion on your weapon if you're aiming for this tactic regularly.

My Bull Rushing Vanguard currently uses a Level 5 Cryopike, and the +2 to-hit, +3 damage is an amazing boost.

Sounds balanced to me; it shouldn't be too easy to do. Opportunistic fusion is good. If I want I want to Bull Rush with my drone I can give it improved combat maneuver and add the Juggernaut Boosters armor upgrade to it also. Bull Rushing does take up a move and a standard action to do though, but it is a good way to start combat. If you pull it off you can get two AOO's and one regular attack from the mechanic if you have your mechanic riding its drone.
