![]() Oops i didnt realise i didnt gain the domain spells but thats not important. I had thought i gained them up to the lvl i could cast. but it does say i can combine my inquisitor and cleric lvls to determine my domain powers for both classes. So, how i see this is i dont get the Inquisitor domain ability because im a sin eater but i can still get domains through my cleric lvl and use my Inquisitor lvls to determine my cleric lvl for its powers. APG:
UM:
It doesnt say i cant have cleric domain just that i dont get to pick an Inquisitor domain. ![]()
![]() really i just want one of two things; either i can use my Inquisitor lvls to climb the clerics spell lists (after all i am divine too), or because normally an Inquisitor gets domain too, if i take a lvl of cleric which will remove any chance for lvl 20 ability or full spell progression, instead my inquisitor levels count for cleric domain spells and abilities. I would be willing to give up the bab and class features to give my sin eater domains again. ![]()
![]() Are there feats that allow you to use one class for determining another classes ability? Like I take a lvl in cleric and with the feat get to use my inquisitor lvl for spell advancement, or the d6 of channel energy, or my domain abilities? I ask this cause i want to splash my Sin eater Inquisitor with either cleric or Oracle to gain either domain or revelations but i was hoping that their was a way to gain the progression bonuses using my inquisitor lvl+cleric or oracle lvl. ![]()
![]() Great stories so far everyone. thank you for sharing, and i look forward to more wonderful stories in the future. Covent that was a very well thought out and gripping story. i like the dialogue in it as well. thank you for taking the time to write that as im sure it was no small feat. Kyras Ausks, do have any more on your characters history? his family story was interesting and made me want to hear more about him personally. For anyone else veiwing this thread please join in and tell us your story. we arent posting builds so there is no critiquing, so feel free and make your character anything you want, there is no OPT or min/max in a story. ![]()
![]() So I was curious to here the creative side of this forum. I've seen lots of shared knowledge, and some awesome builds, but what i like is the stories. I am partial to the inquisitor and feel it lends itself to a plethora of great back story possibilities. The Challenge here is to create a back story for an Inquisitor. Any setting, alignment, or location. your only limitation is your imagination. For those that are interested here is MY story: Krovski: Krovski Wasn't always so dark. A half-orc, born and raised amongst humans. He was happy and content with his life in the church. This happiness was never supposed to last for poor Krovski, the fates had other plans. Rumors had been spreading of a foul taint spreading across the land. The necromancers were gaining power and their minions where quickly extinguishing the light from the known world. Well Krovski being the orc of faith he was left to go and fight the taint and bring back the world he loved. During a raid against a necromancers tower Krovski let himself be captured to buy time for the others to escape. though his faith was strong enough to protect him at first, the necromancer was patient and thought it more fun to torture poor Krovski then to just kill him. For nearly seven years Krovski was held prisoner by the necromancer. Towards the end of the Dead Wars an assault on the tower freed Krovski from the necromancer but not before the years of imprisonment had left its scars. Krovski had lost his faith, but gain something else; a dark power now existed within him. This taint gained from years of exposure and torture with necromantic energies combined and twisted Krovski's faith. Shortly after gaining his freedom Krovski found a new calling, one more suited to his new mentality. Krovski no longer saw himself as someone who could be a part of normal society, the necromancer saw to that. His taint would not darken the joy of the innocent, but he could still help them. Korvski would spend the rest of his days on the fringes of society, chasing down any evil that threatened them, and purifying the darkness by absorbing its taint. He was an Inquisitor now, a hunter of evil. Every evil creature slain only helped to make him stronger, for the taint had changed him into a very special Inquisitor. harnessing the very power used to torture him, the power the world had learned to hate through all the years of war, Krovski had become a Sin Eater. ![]()
![]() If you really want a character youll love to play. Give him a back story, find his motivation, his purpose, and his personality. Build him to fit that and youll have fun just playing him regardless of the situation. With that being said with the Inquisitor do what you want. The class is so variable its hard to go wrong if you use a little common sense. I love a melee inquisitor, especially if you Use intimidate a lot. take those few creatures you dont outright kill and interrogate then. always get your healing spells first at each lvl, you never know when that will come in handy, next is a good self or group buff, and i always like getting a flavor spell for interrogating with, but that cause im not worried about being OP, I'm worried about being an Inquisitor :). ![]()
![]() im a melee terror. Im able to pull of the face be cause the int lets me place skills social skills so the -2 isnt that bad and i can always fall back on intimidating as an Inquisitor. i was hoping to get my hands on a +1 int item to allow me to do the trips/disarm feats, but those are not my focus. ill get the feats if i can but if i never get the opportunity i wont shed a tear. Power atk, Furious focus, Dreadful carnage for the win. I did L/E not because i feel he IS evil but because he thinks he is. though a guess L/N or TN would be just fine. I know Intimidate can make the opponent shaken, but is there a way that if you just out right slaughter them on the intimidate check or you continually win the check that they get further penalties or eventually will just turn tail and flee if possible? I mean if you keep winning the check or smoke it by a wide margin at what point does the enemy go "screw this i dont want to die" and the to run? ![]()
![]() Maybe for my next one. this one is more flavor than optimal. a sin eater who lost his faith because of the horrors he experienced. after he escaped the necromancers he reforged his chains into his weapon for hunting down evil. he now lives on the edge of society, keeping it safe but never able to be a part of it because he fears the taint the necromancers left on him. ![]()
![]() Well i had a talk with him and he has killed off the DMPC. he will still have one to assist with plot progression and because we have an irregular who will assume control when he's around. This new char is not combat oriented and the only skills/spells it will have are buffs/party assist so he cant take center stage. well see how this works out. ![]()
![]() that is part of being the face. As long as my skills are high enough, I can make them ok with it or at least make them agree that its a necessary evil. Thats kinda my theme, necessary evil, im not inherently evil but i consider myself so because of the necromancers taint and therefore have no qualms with the eye for an eye mentality that is often considered evil.
![]()
![]() Well first off CHA is a dump stat Half-orc+Inquisitor abilities means even with dumping CHA my intimidate is still through the roof. i get seve skill points a lvl so i have a high bluff, diplomacy, and intimidate skills as all are class skills. Sin eater doesnt have to eat in the middle of combat if im good which i should be ill just wait till the end and do it. with judgements going and one or two rounds of buffing ill be comparable to any tank. the domain you mentioned sounds really good but i need to be able to work it into the story, so could you please link it so i can review it and think on it. the only thing i wont do effectively is cast. i short changed wis for str so i could be a frontline terror, and with intimidating prowess that just makes intimidate that much better. and whats wrong going around and just intimidating everything? thats what an inquisitor does. ![]()
![]() PG, APG, UM, UC only. as far as gods whatever is on herolab as far as im aware, though i was planning on not having with the necromantic energies that corrupted me also push me away from my original god, but thats not important and can always be changed. Any races in those books is allowed. the reason for all this is that its all done on herolab and uploaded into d20pro cause we play online over vent. those just happen to be the only books the DM has bought for his herolab so its what we can use. ![]()
![]() Does it matter? Sin eater has no domain/Inquisitions. thats a smart switch with the starting stats thank you. Which archetype is weakens the Inquisitor? Sin eater seems very strong to me and heretic only loses monsterlore. i am new to the game so i dont know a lot but monster lore never seemed useful as far as i could tell. is that just a noob mistake? ![]()
![]() So I'm going to be jumping into a new campaign and I've decided to build an Inquisitor. I want him to note only be he face of the party but a terror on the battle field. His back story for this homebrew adventure is that he was the prisoner of some necromancers and gained a hatred for their evil ways but was at the same time corrupted by it. He will be Lawful/Evil or Lawful/Neutral not sure which. He will be the sin eater archetype with the need to actually taste the blood to gain the benefits, this is the evil taint of the necromancers.
Char Design:
His stats are at lvl 4: STR:20 (18+2 Racial) DEX:14 CON:12 INT:12 WIS:14 (13+1 lvl) CHA:07 Racial Traits:
Traits:
Feats
all skill points go into face skills, perception, stealth, and sense motive. I would like to take him up both disarm and trip paths with intimidation feats for flavor. What does the community think? ![]()
![]() Yeah, the more i talk about it on here and read my comment, the more i realise how bad it really is. I keep making excuses because i want to play and this is the only local game i have been able to find. DMing is probably the way i should go, but i would like to find another game to join because the simple act of creating a character and their story is the funnest part of the game imho. Well when all is said and done i appreciate you all listenning to me b%@+* and help me out. Thank you. ![]()
![]() I may talk to the group about sending the NPC packing. If the DM gets upset about not having a a PC to showoff with he may just increase the encounters to try for a TPW, but if thats the case ill just stop playing his campaigns. i will talk to him first though and see if he can legit explain his superstar Gunslinger. I've asked before but he just dodges around it or uses the "rules only say this so technically i can do that" method but then refuses to let others do it as its to powerful or not allowed because the rules dont explicitely allow it. I always loved that double standard. i think all and all im just really getting fed up with it. it was ok at first but now that its the same thing, with this being i believe my 4th campaign with him its just tiresome. HINT: all our campaigns end early because people drop out. Waithstrike: hes not a new DM hes just an ego-centric a$$hat that has to always have a way to make himself feel better then those around him. Prolly why he likes do DM. ![]()
![]() first off I understand that Gunslingers hit against touch AC. The plus 15 to hit has nothing to do with that. He has him running around with 2 double barrelled pistols primary hand hit for +11(+15 - 4 for both barrels) and his off hand hits at +8 (+15 - 4 for both barrels - 3 for off hand). which in and of itself is wrong unless he has two weapon fighting feats. His race is human. i wouldnt mind if he was actually there to help, but we dont need help. Ultimately this characters true purpose is to outshine everyone so the DM can brag. I play because its the only local game i know of. ![]()
![]() Well since the highest starting stat you could potentially have is 20 after racial modifiers, I doubt he has 34 in anything. No, I figured he DM'd the character because he has an ego and wants the spotlight. I just posted in here in case there was a way to make it that i didn't know and he was just min/maxing. Sounds like I may just drop. I hate being in a group where everyone cant have their moment, and in this one the only person to get a moment is the DM. with that being said anyone have an open spot in their campaign for a new player? Preferrably in the new england area :). ![]()
![]() My DM likes to put in over the top NPC's into his campaigns to help us out and keep the party going in the right direction. My problem is every time he brings one in they just dont seem right. They are too powerful and i cant figure out how hes doing it. Right now he has introduced a Gunslinger to the party, i thought hey cool a little added DPS. the Gunslinger is lvl 3 and already has a to hit over 15 or 16. when going up against my Synth build also lvl 3 with 2 claw attacks w/ reach, a bite attack and pounce he still smokes me everytime. is there a legitimate way for him to have such a high to hit because i cant figure it out. Edit: oh and i have to hit low to mid 20's just to hit him. ![]()
![]() I was talking with my DM and we got into a debate on if my Synthesist could benefit from augment summoning feat. He says since its not a full independent summoning that it doesnt count, but i think that since STR, DEX, and CON are all based on my fused Eidolon attributes. Since it still says I summon the EIdolon to fuse with me i think that augment summoning should work as normal for the stats i get from my Eidolon. What does the community think? ![]()
![]() So I just started a new campaign with a friend of mine. He had two players drop but didn’t want to have to end the story so asked me to fill in with a good tank build to support team that’s heavy in DPS and heals. To do this I decided I would try out a Synthesist build. I am basically making large to huge werewolf. Though I have the math done and my character sheets all finished, my DM is running this game through D20pro and Herolab but they don’t have the scripting for a synth build. I was wondering if anyone knows of a CharGen that can properly do the synth so I can easily track and upload changes to him? ![]()
![]() I have been searching endlessly for a charGen for PFS with no luck. Though there are many good ones out there, they all lack the same thing (the only thing I'm looking for), Synthesist. I have a Synth I made for my new group, but I have yet to find a CharGen that has a good Synth option. Make that happen and you'll have my business. |
