Bump

Tl;dr I've statted up two versions of a Sohei 6/Tortured Crusader pally 2/CoL 2 build I'm working towards for PFS.

Option 1: Strength-based Oread flurrying with a Keen Fauchard.

Level 10 with all buffs up ends up looking like +20/+20/+15/+15 2d8+32 with an AC of around 25 (could probably buff up a bit without much trouble.) Threatens a 20' spread but only has the dex for two AoOs. Reach is truly fantastic though.

Option 2: Dex-based Halfling flurrying with an Agile Keen butterfly sword.

Level 10 w/ buffs is +19/+19/+14/+14 1d2+30 with an AC of 35 (can probably buff even higher.) No reach but my acrobatics is in the 20s so I can close ground reasonably well.

So in the end it comes down to...great damage and battlefield control, or good damage with vastly superior AC?

Saves are similar. HP is almost the same. I like both options. Thoughts from people more experienced with high level play?

Basic idea;

Halfling -
8
20
12
10
14
9

UnMonk - Weapon Finesse, Dodge
UnMonk - Combat Reflexes
UnMonk - Piranha Strike
UnMonk -
Tortured Crusader Pally - Risky Striker
Tortured Crusader Pally -
Champion of Irori - Crane Style
Champion of Irori -

Tortured Crusader removes most of the MAD issues with CoI; dex focus with an agile AoMF makes a halfling viable.

Low Con is a risk but lay on hands coupled with high AC should keep me in one piece. With Ring of Ki Mastery I'll have eight smites a day; bronze gongs are 100GP a pop if I ever need more. And

Ideas? Critiques? Alternative builds?

No one? Champion of Irori? Maybe it's not well known by the other name

Tl;dr I want to know the best way to do this with the new material from the two hundred splat books published since the release of any of the guides available for this prestige class.

Scaled Fist replaces still mind which makes me unbelievably salty. Tortured Crusader has some synergy. Any input? Maybe a Dex focused halfling pally with an agile AoMF, dumping CHA (ouch)?

I don't have the system knowledge to do this alone. Thanks in advance peeps

Some great ideas in here. Still eager for more but these have definitely gotten some ideas brewing.

Sounds very potentially awesome. Will dig into it further and stat it out later. Any more?

Tl;dr I minmax everything but I also enjoy originality. I hate single classing anything except most casters as it's usually so bland and there's such great multiclassing synergy for a lot of builds.

I have no parameters other than race and effectiveness. I like effective builds.

New twist on an Oradin? Songbird of Doom V7? Would love to hear about it.

Aaand go. Thanks in advance peeps

- Race choices are hard set.
- Not decided on mystery or archetype. Archetype will probably be dual cursed, for mystery I've looked at Dark Tapestry, Wind, Winter, Time...and others.
- Looking for advice regarding those as well as spell selection and general tactical advice as I've never played anything but martials.

Any more opinions?

Tl;dr RAW can you perform a mounted charge, have the rider hit with his lance (10ft reach) and then continue 5' further forward and have the mount complete its charge attack as well?

Would Ride-By Attack change this to a yes, if no?

Hunter (Primal Companion) - Boon Companion Monk (Sohei) - Wheeling Charge Monk - Trick Riding, Escape Route Fighter (Lore Warden) - Mounted Combat Fighter - Indomitable Mount, Iron Will Hunter - Outflank Hunter - Pack Flanking, Precise Strikes

Big cat companion.

Crank dex.

Rider does nothing but stay alive. Slap all your resources into +++ mithral chain and a steel shield. Fighting defensively with combat expertise from LW and appropriate gear your AC is 32 at 7th. You have no damage and don't need a weapon besides unarmed strike from monk, and that exists only to threaten so your mount can get bonuses from Pack Flanking.

Your mount, assuming you grab the energy attacks evolution from Primal Hunter, will be hitting for a staggering 1d6+7+4d6 on the WEAKEST of his five attacks on a charge - all of which are at a +16 bonus to hit due to pack flanking and other shit. The DPR vs a CR7 creature is something like 122. You'll be churning through anything you can reach like cardboard.

Defensively, you have 32 AC and your worst save is will at +11. Trick Riding and Indomitable Mount let you sub in your +17 ride check to save your mount from attacks and spells, and his 23 AC isn't shabby. Escape Route prevents you from taking AoOs for moving so you'll be able to charge creatures with reach without fear. Slap an Aegis of Recovery on both of you and it's not even fair anymore.

So you can put out enough damage to solo most bosses in a single charge, you have stupid AC and saves, you can charge anything without fearing AoOs, your mount is going to be nigh untouchable and none of this is reliant on buffs. You can operate like this from round one. And thanks to stupid high dex and reactionary you're going to go first a LOT.

Thoughts?
