Edric accepts a reward - his draconic nature is more than strong enough to ensure that he takes gold very seriously, but declines any public prestige.

"Am not the person you want to praise in public." He says firmly. "So no need. Glad to help."

More privately he thanks his companions in battle. "You are a fine warrior Remy. Almost as strong as dragon. Use a real weapon and you would be unstoppable!" He claps the monk on the shoulder and turns to Dewdrop.

"You have a mighty mind Miss Rosethorn. I wish you luck in the future. Have interesting students. One day, if you wish, come to visit. You will be welcome."

Without Remy distracting the devil Edric is tempted to bathe the creature in fire - but that wouldn't be wise, no matter how satisfying, so he focuses on cutting the creature down. His single-minded intent is almost terrifying.

Draconic Edric feels rather offended at how the demon keeps ignoring him!

Sadly the offense doesn't make him any more accurate.

Edric draws the devil's attention with an axe to the head!

Edric is getting used to this spell and powers through it.

"Devil magic! Die!" He declares, charging forwards in a mighty rage!

By some miracle of self control Edric doesn't charge the devil. Yet.

What he does do is sneakily move around the devil, aiming to get out of his line of sight while Dewdrop talks. He believes in honorably battle - but striking first and putting your axe in the other guy's least defended areas is just good sense!

"Why waiting?" Edric asks, looking over his shoulder. "Scream later. Vampire now."

"Must follow vampire." Edric says, giving the shrivelled heart a distinctly dubious look. "Went that way!"

With Remy returned Edric's plan to bathe the corpse in fire would be... less than responsible. On the other hand the corpse has turned its back!

Edric's battle-lust does not permit anything less than a full on war, but he maintains just enough tactical clarity to leap into the air once more to prepare for an even more mighty charge in future!

There is still an enemy to fight and Edric's path is clear. He crashes down on top of the reanimated corpse and swings at it, although he misjudges when the corpse stumbles.

Edric wields his axe with great vigor and manages to anticipate the strigoi as she dodges, catching her with the back-swing.

Edric's mind is like a fortified bastion, bristling with canon and trigger-happy dwarves to man it. Magic breaks on his anger like water on a rock!

His wings burst from his back once more and the dragon leaps into the air after the strigoi, his mighty axe slashing before him!

"Waaaaaaaaaaagggggghhhhhhh!" Replies Edric, letting loose the song of his people as he charges the strigoi woman!

"Smash, or leave?" Edric asks when it becomes clear that Dewdrop is as stumped by the box as he is. "Unless vampire inside not our problem."

"We will destroy them all, no matter how many!" Edric declares. "Now to find the next one!"

Edric, yet again, has blood pulled from his body and, just as every other time, it really angers him! Leaping across the room he swings his axe mightily.

Edric nods to the secret door and waits for his companions to be ready before shoving it open with a swift heave.

Edric completely ignores the noise, he's heard far worse. He does take up a ready stance though.

Edric lets out a mighty roar and his wings erupt from his back, spreading in a mighty arch to let the dragon soar downwards to the sloping passageway. He lands and then gestures firmly onwards with his axe. The throbbing heartbeat sound doesn't seem to throw him at all.

Edric looks suspiciously at the statue, and then at Remy, before shrugging.

"Consume me Runelord Sorshen." It sounds less like a command and more like a rather bemused question.

"Strong foe." Edric growls when his limbs return to his control. "Should fall back. Heal damage before fighting again."

Barely standing thanks to blood loss Edric's mighty constitution fails him and he freezes.

Edric throws off the paralysis again and swings once more!

He seems to be of the same opinion as Dewdrop as he cuts left, right and then cleanly down the middle!

Edric resists some of the damage, but can't prevent his muscles locking in place until his anger surges and burns away the offending magics.

"I will introduce her to my axe." Edric says, giving an alarmingly toothy grin.

Edric looks at the others and shrugs. "I like this deal."

"And what will you do with strength?" Edric asks. "Have no quarrel, but I will defend the city. From you if needed."

"And what conclusions have you found?" Edric replies. "It seems to me that your souls must remain with your body. If not then Pharasma have them and you only zombie. You have mind of your own, consciousness. Therefore soul is with you, at least a little."

"What is your debate?" Edric asks. Oddly for his kind he quite enjoys such pursuits and his curiosity, such as it is, is piqued by the prospect of ghouls conducting philosophy.

Edric thinks about that for a few moments and then nods.

"Yes, that makes sense."

Edric nods his agreement and picks up the axe that is never far from his side.

"Do not like that woman. Has all the wrong ideas." He rumbles. "Ileosa was bad for the city. She does not deserve it to remember her!"

Most of this conversation flies well over Edric's horns, but he gravely pays attention none the less.

"Right." Edric says, only half listening. "Come. Get you out. Then food."

"No." Edric says bluntly. "Expecting dead, not living. Come, get you out of here and you explain."

"I do not like those!" Edric declares, his tongue flicking out to lick a trail of blood running down his snout. "Are these Red Mantis? Assassins and Vampires together?"

"That way." Edric says, pointing at random with great certainty!

"She is not very good at this." Edric rumbles, watching Dewdrop flit around the runes for a good few minutes. He'd have simply pulverised the stone the runes were on - although that might well not have worked either!

"Dewdrop needs rest, but then we will destroy them." Edric agrees. "Go in daylight when they are weak!"

"Coward!" Edric bellows but then, as the battle rage leaves him, he looks to his companions and can see weariness affecting them both.

"Back to the Queen?" He asks. "Bring soldiers to the temple?"

Edric stands, angrily, and swings, violently.
