Ethain was born in Rohan but grew up in Lossanarch. He was captured there at 12 years of age and taken south to be sold as a slave.
While as a slave he learned a lot of strange lore; killed his master and then snuck on a ship and made himself useful as a Corsair for some time. Then he left the ship and became a slave to man in Near Harad who taught him to be a fighter and likely gladiator in some games.
That man died and Ethain then fled north again to Harondor where he was captured and sold into service of a man named Ahzeez. He was freed from Ahzeez by Nemireth and Melui and currently serves them.
Name: Khalid bar-Razak
Occupation: Second owner of Ethian – died of natural causes
Notes: Another noble; but this man of Near Harad, somewhat south of Harondor. Bar-Razak taught Ethain something of sailing, the ways of sword fighting and how to ride the Oliphant’s, as well as teaching him some lore an how to be an effective killer for games of sport.
It is believed that bar-Razak saw Ethain as sort of a “son” or possible “lover”; though Ethain has not made clear what specific uses bar-Razak had for him. He did not share any hate about the man, but admits the man is now dead; though of natural causes.
Name: Omari el-Mofti the alias of the First owner of Ethain; his true name was Nureddin El Mekru
Occupation: Nobleman in Umbar
Notes: Nureddin El Mekru was a dangerous noble who practiced Alchemy, Magic and possible uses of sorcery akin to those practiced by the Black Numenoreons. He’s dead; but it said that he created a race of “Ruined Men” by Ethain; quite possibly a new breed of “Orc” or some such creature, though Ethain compares them more to a combination of Snake and Man. Likely at least a 12th level Scholar if not higher.
He practiced torture on his slaves; including various sexual vices and was fond of abuse and extreme bouts of cruelty.
Omari el-Mofti was the name he used for business with men in different cities. Ethain would have heard the name Omari more frequently than Nureddin; but he certainly knew that Nureddin El Mekru was the “True” name of his former master. However, when doing business with foreigners the name “Omair el-Mofti” would be the one that was recognized.
