So I'm still catching up; could someone explain (or just link the relevant blog post) the difference between a Point of Interest and an Outpost? I get that settlements are the player-run towns but didn't know there was a distinction for smaller sites. And for what it's worth, I'm perfectly fine with PoI as the term, but I suppose something like holding, steading, or station would work too.
Hi there! I'm usually a lurker in most communities I've ever been a part of and this one is no exception. Though I was a backer for both Kickstarters, I didn't pay much attention to the actual progress on the game before a few weeks ago. I've slowly been catching up on all the threads here since then. As of yet I haven't settled on what kind of character I want to play so I'm unaffiliated for now. I've had alt-itis in nearly every MMO I've played before so I want to make sure I come up with a character I can stick with this time. I initially had my mind set on a dwarven paladin so somewhere like Forgeholm or Ozem's Vigil seemed appealing, but I also think a character more oriented toward managing markets as part of a widespread merchant guild or serving with an independent mercenary company could be a lot of fun too. I just can't decide! |
