Duriel attempts to break free from the grapple.

Duriel slams down his greataxe on the sickly greyish arm.

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

1d12 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

But he misses.

"... for you watch over me in this hour of need. Amen."

Duriel strides forward his weapon ready to strike and as an example to the others.

"Steel your hearts!"


Duriel takes a moment to use his ability to sense evil to get a general feel for the exploration area.


Perception 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

"The small hieroglyphics at the feet of the statues identify them as Pentheru the Elder and Pentheru the Younger."

Duriel plants the business end of his axe on the ground before making a silent prayer. "Milord, watch over us."


"Perhaps it's a temple to their god, Nethys," Duriel suggests. "We can ask the priests here about it. They ought to know something."


"I'll go with you. Perhaps they have some sort of repellent."

Duriel approaches the Scorched Hand. He flashes his best smile, "Your group appears pretty capable. Why the sullen faces then?"

From their gear can I determine the composition of the Scorched Hand? And do I see any hot female with at least 15 charisma?


I think as part of our tactics, I will have my character buy a mancatcher something to hold off any foes while the rest pounds it from a distance. What do you think?

Duriel joins his companions. He motions to the barkeep for mug of whatever is the finest drink. He nods to Inmir and toasts, "To surviving."

He takes a long pull.

Duriel strikes but he knows he's gonna miss.

Duriel readies his axe -- just in case.

Duriel gives thanks to his god before preparing for the day's exploration.


"Let's go back to the first room we explored."

Duriel too follows the others' lead and takes a look around.
