I would like midnight to continue. This might be fever talking, but I think that you are disrespecting your own world and time, since after a break (caused by you) you always want to scrape everything after making tons and tons of plans and having gamemastergasms. You just get another idea, see some new setting, get some new rules and that seems shiner and better than the stuff you already worked for a lot. That caused the constant rule changes in Midnight you were trying to implement, and characters being reworked.

And one of the things I really hate is unfinished story, just left hanging there with all the unused potential, especially after we have all invested in the game and the characters. (I'm speaking for myself, but I'm pretty sure the others feel the same way).

Nightflier once again has problems with Paizo (as do I, I barely managed to open this page) so he apologizes and will be back as soon as he can.

Nightflier and I have problems with paizo, he can't log in at all and I managed to do it and load the page after several dozen attempts. He'll be back as soon as he can.

Silently brooding, Duncan thinks how he never gave his word or consented to the truce in anyway. Without a word he motions Sorok to take place at his side at the front of their little company and waits for the rest of them to be ready to move on.

HP:55/79

Perception1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Duncan steps through the protal prapared for anything. He is untouched by the legate's comment and insult, and for a second he didn't feel just hatred for him, but also pity. Akin to a pity one could feel for a rabid animal that has to be put down.

Duncan watches almost in disbelief as Sorok returns the sword to the legate, thinking It may appear that these people we met here are our friends, but a lot could've happened during these years. They might not be the same people we used to know

He can not contain his contempt as he says to the servant of shadow:"After you, dark one, you will not left behind our back to stab us or leave us behind. If we fall, you fall with us!"

Intimidate 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (11) + 16 = 27

For a second, Duncan barely manages to suppress urge to answer to the legate: "You can have mine," and then try to ram the blade into his face. Duncan is very uneasy because of this temporary truce and is not sure if legate will actually be able to help in any way. It was never one of his best talents, but he tries to read through intentions of the shadow's servant.

Sense motive 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

Ready!

Duncan starts walking with Solvi, prepared to shield her from any attack that might come her way, but inside he is grumbling because of this "truce" with the Legate. He keeps watching the legate as much as he can while moving, not really trusting him one bit and considering the possibility of his Astirax making a surprise attack against one of the casters.

Nightflier's internet is dead at the moment, he will probably post tomorrow.

Nightflier, what is the situation with the tentacles and what is going on with the innkeeper?

Having released his friends, Duncan turns and moves back up to face the Legate and his minion, extending his shield protectively in front of Solvistania while his grim gaze rests on the servants of the Shadow.
Duncan uses his move action to turn around back towards the Legate and with swift action Shields Other for Solvistania

Don't forget about the Kytons, and the legate's Astirax might show up as well.

Once again, Duncan slashes the tentacles, hoping to free his friends, focusing on getting Solvi free first.

Round 4
AC:25 HP 55/79

Standard Action Power attack for the tentacle holding Solvi, followed by cleaving the tentacles holding Felina and Sorok
Move action: Depends on the outcome of his attacks

Power Attack(Solvi)1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
Damage 1d10 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16

Cleave(Felina)1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30
Damage 1d10 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19

Great Cleave(Sorok)1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30
Damage 1d10 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 17

It's always slow when weekend comes.

Chops, if you go for the Legate right now, you will be fighting against two very strong enemies, probably twice your level, at the same time. And the grappling tentacles will probably constrict the grappled part of the party for another round killing or at least knocking them out in negative HPs, if you don't finish them off right away

Feeling the strength pouring back into his body through Gilian's touch, Duncan for a second sees a hesitating legate, fighting the urge to attack him right away, but instead turns on his heel and rushes toward tentacles that are constricting Solvi, Felina and Sorok, slashing at them as he arrives.

round 3
AC:25 HP 55/79

Move action: Duncan comes to the grappled allies in the back
Standard action: Power Attack the tentacle holding Solvi. If he hits, he will cleave through Felina's and Illiameyl's

Power Attack 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
Damage 1d10 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14

Cleave 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30
Damage 1d10 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20

Great Cleave 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
Damage 1d10 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19

Reflex save 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13

Feeling the rocks bouncing harmlessly of his armor and shield, Duncan first looks around to determine what is exactly going on with his allies, and is his help needed somewhere. Feeling his wounds from before, he also hopes to attract Gilian's attention.
With his damage reduction, Duncan ignores the damage. For now, he holds the action pending the outcome of his friends rolls and enemies actions. Nightflier, what is the status of the enemies, and how many orcs are still alive and/or ungrappled

We might all steal it, it's very handy.

Nightflier says that he again has problems logging in paizo, so that is why he didn't post. He hopes he will be back soon.

I tried posting a check right after nightflier, and still had the same problem, but then I inserted words before the roller and now it posted it, so maybe it had some problem with the dice roller in isolation.

Whatever check 1d20 ⇒ 9

Me too, my dice roll in the preview is 9. Is it possible that the max thread length is 125 pages?

Sorok, I don't think the stance you are using is in the new version of rules.

I would say the second three. If that is the case, Duncan takes half the damage, taking 15+5+7 dmga, having in mind his damage reduction, and Chops takes 7+9. Duncan is currently on 25/79 dmg.

Enraged, Duncan hacks at the line of enemies blocking his path to the legate. As he finishes his move, he extends his shield to protect his less armored friend Chops.

Round 2
Standard Action: Regular attack with cleaving
Swift Action: Shield other [Chops]

Attack 1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 14 + 2 = 27
Damage 1d10 + 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (1) + (3, 4) + 9 = 17

Cleave 1d20 + 13 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 13 + 2 = 23
Damage 1d10 + 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (2) + (1, 4) + 9 = 16

Great Cleave 1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 14 + 2 = 20
Damage 1d10 + 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (5) + (5, 2) + 9 = 21

Cleave 1d20 + 12 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 12 + 3 = 20
Damage 1d10 + 2d6 + 13 ⇒ (5) + (3, 2) + 13 = 23

Great Cleave 1d20 + 12 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 12 + 3 = 29
Damage 1d10 + 2d6 + 13 ⇒ (8) + (1, 6) + 13 = 28

Waiting for first three orcs to get into his range, Duncan once again makes a wide slash to maximize the damage.

Power attack1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 12 + 2 = 32
Damage1d10 + 2d6 + 13 ⇒ (2) + (4, 4) + 13 = 23

I'm in CET (GMT+1) and so is nightflier.

Seeing the bloody, barely standing shadar elf preparing to meet the attackers, Duncan yells: "Get behind us, elf, unless you have a deathwish!"

"Crunk, get that Legate's sword as far away from him as you can", says Duncan pointing with his own blade at the dropped weapon next to Crunk.

The body of the black warrior barely before the Orcs rushed in, and seeing how intent they were to attack Gilian, Duncan leaps and in a couple of bounds places himself in front of Gilian, positioning her shield to prodect her.

Duncan uses his move action to move and stop right in front of Gilian so that they have to move through the area he threatenes if they want to reach Gilian. As swift action, he activates Shield Other to protect her.

Sorry for spaming in separate posts, I'm at work and I have problems editing and posting

Damage 1d10 + 9 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 9 + 5 = 16
Damage 1d10 + 9 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 9 + 5 = 17

Confirmation 1d20 + 14 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 14 + 5 = 30

Hearing the warning, Duncan swings one more time, hoping to bring the enemy down.

Attack 1d20 + 14 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 14 + 5 = 38

I updated that, since nightflier removed the same effect for the shields from the armor training, so I have only for the armor.

Duncan was on 59/79 and then got healed for 16, got to 75/79 and took another 13 poins of damage and is currently on 52/79

Just to have it on this page as well

Initiative order is:
Izardor's Knight
Duncan
Solvi
Gilian
Chops
Crunk
Illiameyl
Sorok

Done

Duncan grunts under the flurry of blows, deflecting two strikes, but one finds a joint in the armor sinking into his chest. But fortunately, Sorok places his shield and himself so that he covers Duncan, taking a part of the force of every blow meant for Duncan.

Duncan takes 47 hp of damage, but shares half of it with Sorok because of Shield Other, so Duncan takes 24 and Sorok 23 dmg. Since Duncan has 2/- damage reduction from armor training, and another 1/magic from Draconic Aura, he takes from 2 hits 6 points less, or 4 points if the sword is magical

Rising in fury once again, Duncan retaliates

Power Attack1d20 + 12 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 12 + 5 = 28
Damage1d10 + 9 + 5 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 9 + 5 + 4 = 24

Since Duncan should now be at the place where the Shadar Elf fell, just to the left of Chops and his grappling orc, so he would use the Great Cleave attack to hit that grappling orc.

A grappled creature is restrained by a creature,
trap, or effect. Grappled creatures cannot move and take a –4
penalty to Dexterity. A grappled creature takes a –2 penalty
on all attack rolls and combat maneuver checks, except
those made to grapple or escape a grapple.

Duncan returns the dark warrior's gaze and says:"You are mine, shadow servant, and you will fall."

He focuses himself, feeling the pulsations of Lan's Gem and strength coursing through his body, dispelling all his doubts from the mind, extending his will into the blade. His steps forth, drawing breath as if to yell, but he just utters two words with so much force in his voice that any battlecry would be ashamed. "For Erenland", and strikes with his sword.

Challenge
Benefit: As a swift action, you can choose one target within sight to call out. Your gain a morale bonus to melee attacks against that opponent equal to your Charisma bonus (minimum +1), to a maximum bonus equal to your class level. Successful attacks against that opponent deal extra damage equal to your fighter level. The challenge remains in effect until the target is dead or unconscious or until the combat ends. Challenging a foe requires much of your concentration; you take a –2 circumstance penalty to Armor Class, except against attacks made by the target of your challenge.

Duncan uses his move action if he has to get closer to his foes. With swift action, he challenged the dark warrio and he will first try to hit the dark warrior. If he strikes him, he will continue to cleave through the orcs that should still standing in the front row. Since two of those attacked the shadar elf the last round, they should be close enough to the dark warrior. If he can, he will try hitting the the wounded one.

Attack 1d20 + 14 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 14 + 5 = 30
Dmg 1d10 + 9 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 9 + 5 = 19

Dmg 1d10 + 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (5) + (3, 1) + 9 = 18

Great Cleave 1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 14 + 2 = 27
Dmg 1d10 + 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (5) + (4, 1) + 9 = 19

checked your crit rolls :D So eager to kill us off right away, ccc :D

Nightflier, you scored only one critical threat with the dark knight, not two

Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

Crunk, they don't stack. Just take Weapon Bond based on Dex and spend the feat for something else.

Oh, how I missed this part. Discussing tactics!

I think the best would be if someone from the back could somehow finish off the injured orc in front of Duncan so that he can go for the Legate the next round. The sooner we bring him down the better. Sorok could then step into the gap left by Duncan.

As he finishes his devastating swing, jerking the blade from the body of the Orc, Duncan says over his shoulder:"Beware of the astirax!"
