Sovereign Court

I as thinking of going down Eldritch Heritage with my Stormborn sorcerer to gain a familiar, and then get then get improved familiar probably a Pseudodragon. But wondering if its worth doing.

Sovereign Court

For sorcerers, Spontaneous metafocus feat is needed in there as well, otherwise the combo takes too damn long.

Sovereign Court

I'll have to reconsider my spell list, but as I said I want to still be a glass cannon, and not a party buffer, but haste is kinda a requirement.

Sovereign Court

There is the feat Spontaneous Metafocus which allows you to cast one spell using normal casting time. Also look at Magical Lineage which treats metamagic as one level less for one spell. So its a great combo for sorcerers.

Sovereign Court

Thanks all, that has given me some good ideas. I think I will still keep with it.

Sovereign Court

It seems that in season 5 we will be running into demons, and what is the main immunities for a demon, electricity... so what is a stormborn to do.

Change bloodline with the new rules from ultimate campaign? But what to as I still want to be a glass cannon.

Anyone else in a situation like this?

Sovereign Court

Greetings fellow Nobles of the mother land. I recently had the pleasure of earning a noble title as well, which I was having a dilemma over. The title Marquis did appeal to me but on further consideration (being called a tent by a fellow player - Australian humor at its finest I'm afraid), I've taken up the title of Baron. Thus I will refer to myself as Lord Baron Dovian of House Voltiac.

Sovereign Court

Greetings fellow Taldan, I've come across a recent dilemia. I've been offered my choice of noble title now seeing my dear uncle as departed. And as we know titles seem to come and go, but the choice of which title to be called has me perplex a little. Does the choice of viscount or marquis suit a stormborn sorcerer of my calibre, or should I go with something else.

Yours Iconicly.

Gust of Wind should disperse it in one round. It is the "primary source" on what its own wind speed is.

And this is how we played it. It was just the fact that obscuring mist directly references Gust of Wind, but the fact that Gust of wind does more than the other reference thinks it does.

Sovereign Court

In a recent game, we had a caster using obscuring mist against us, so I had my sorcerer use gust of wind to try and defeat it. However we can across an issue with the wording of each spell.

In the description of obscuring mist it says:

"A moderate wind (11+ mph), such as from a gust of wind spell, disperses the fog in 4 rounds. A strong wind (21+ mph) disperses the fog in 1 round."

However the gust of wind spell says:

"This spell creates a severe blast of air (approximately 50 mph) that originates from you..."

I aurgued that gust of wind says 50mph, so it should affect obscuring mist as per the wind, not as per Obscuring mist. Plus being a 2nd level spell it should affect a 1st level spell.

This looks like a case of one spell not checking the other spell properties to me, and going back to 3.5 seems the same issue. So can someone give me a clarification on this.

Thanks
