![]() The brawny man sits with his feet up and his arms behind his head. He give the pretty tiefling a little grin as she walks in. There is a large woodsman's axe leaning against the table by his side and he wears a weathered breastplate over his well-worn clothes. "Almost as bad, but I've had enough of ships for a good long time. Don't worry, fighting in close is what I'm best at. It's these blasted derros that have me worried. My pal Todric ran into 'em on his last mission before heading off to Kaer Maga. They were doing some sort of nasty experiments on people. I'd be glad for a chance to put paid to their plans, believe me." ![]()

![]() Dietrich claps the halfing on the shoulder. "Thanks Odo. No need to apologize. Your attack helped keep us out of danger, and free these people!" Dietrich searches the body of the man for a key. If he can't find one, he will work on trying to break the bars of the captives' cells. ![]()

![]() Ugh, Dietrich has become my PBP/FtF mess. Dates overlapping, scenarios re-played, other issues... Anyway, earlier I edited my old session, then tried to switch it back when I caught the date overlap. Even so, it messed up how things appeared in the sessions section of my character (showig his name but no Prestige). I ran a game on the 18th of November. That's the same day we had the first encounter of this session, so I'm calling it good and putting the GM cred on him. We "started" this game on 13 Nov, but I'm too frustrated with reporting issues to go back now. Usually, when things are close, it's ok to say the PBP game "offically and legally" began with the first encounter, so I think I'm ok here. Maybe I'll give Dietrich a nice long rest after this series of games. I certainly won't drop any more GM creds on him until we're all through. If we manage to finish all 5 scenarios, though he'll get just past level 4, which should be cool! ![]()

![]() Hey Matt! Right, and for 2 PP an Oil of Daylight is starting to become my "buy right after a CLW wand" thing. Deeper darkness can sometimes be a bit of a pain. Some GM's will apparently say that Daylight wipes out the effect, but now you need darkvision to acutally see anything. I guess it depends on the ambient light in the room. It seems to me that Deeper Darkness and Daylight should cancel each other, so then Light should be enough, but who knows? ![]()

![]() Just remember Oti that the titel's a dead giveaway. If you need to spend prestige to be ready, it's totally worthwhile. And no, I haven't played it, but as a semi-regualr GM I read up on it and decided to hold off running it. It looks like I won't level after this. I Gm'ed my other game after this one started, so Dietrich is "locked in" until finishing. I might get another credit to throw on him at some point between games. My plan was to progress by alternating fighter and rogue levels, always taking the fighter level first, until I had 3 levels in each, then going pure fighter beyond that. either way, at next level I get a 3rd level feat plus either a fighter bonus feat or a rogue talent, so I will get to do more stuff. ![]()

![]() "Right then, let's get moving and rescue the rest of the prisoners. Thanks for the healing Gaius, though it sure does make a man feel a bit strange." Just before leaving Dietrich throws a question at the woman and man they captured: "Any guards left at this warehouse? If so, how many?" ![]()

![]() Dietrich tries to hide his nausea at seeing the man's insides split open by his axe. For a warrior, Dietrich is still on the squeamish side. He turns to the man who surrendered and says: "Talk now fool, lest you share the same fate as your friends!" Intimidate: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 ![]()

![]() Dietrich grunts as the staff gives him a hard rap to the side of his skull. He then returns the favor with a blow from his axe! Greataxe, Power Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

![]() Hey Matt, We've talked a bit before - The Stolen Heir was one I liked as a GM from season 5. Less railroady than some - you make a big decision near the end that affects a key NPC's future dramatically. The Disappeared (Season 4) is a short, fun, intrigue-heavy but combat lite scenario. I've GM'd it twice and played once - pretty solid to me. The Voice in the Void (Season 1) is pretty awesome in what i've heard called a Lovecraftian way. (disclaimer: I've never read anything by Lovecraft myself). Didn't like the The God's Market Gamble? It's one I've run twice and played (which is as much exposure as I have to any scenario). I personally love it, but my first character is a ranger, so part of me roots for the BBEG a little too much... In summary, I would highly recommend: Season 1: The Voice in the Void

![]() No prob bluedove, these things happen, especially this time of year! Dietrich moves forward to get in position for an attack. He tries to be nimble to avoid provoking his foe. Acrobatic to avoid AOO: 1d20 ⇒ 2 He then takes a swing at her with his axe. Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 6 + 1 = 17

![]() I'm in a tight spot. Even a full withdrawl will casue me to provoke. Onyl the square I'm in is "protected", so when I left the second square the zombie could attack again. Deitrich gasps from the wounds the zombie left on him. Still, he grits his teeth and swings his axe as he calls out: "It's no good Tresca, not enough room to maneuver. If I go down, I've got a wand in my pack for healing. I'll try to take a bite out of this one first!" Power Attack Greataxe: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
+3 damage from Power Attack, because I've red that you can add 1.5x bonus on two-handed power attaks. ![]()

![]() Thanks bluedove! Do the stairs counts as difficult terrain? If not, I should be able to reach the top deck. "Let's give them a chance to surrender. Otherwise, I'm not holding back in another fight." Dietrich moves to the top deck and takes a look at the people he finds there. His axe is out, and as he speaks he readies an action to strike as soon as one of the people moves into range. "You there! State your business. If you're behind these kidnappings surrender to us at once!" Intimidate to Demoralize: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 ![]()

![]() "Right you are Tanselle. And since I woke him up..." Dietrich takes his axe and swings the flattened back side into the back of the orc's head. Do I need an attack roll? Non-lethal attack: 1d20 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (7) + 6 - 4 = 9
I hope the roll wasn't really necessary! ![]()

![]() Dietrich looks at Nish appraisingly. "Name's Dietrich. My associate here speaks the truth. We're part of the Pathfinder Society. One of our own was taken, so we'd be grateful if you could help." To Odo he says: "Thanks again, friend, but I'm fine for now. Barely a scratch left." ![]()

![]() Dietrich take a healing potion and then moves over to the prisoners, drawing his dagger. "I hope it's alright if I take one of these potions. I was wounded a bit in the fighting." ![]() Dietrich looks the place over. His expression sours a little more than usual. "Right you are, Tanselle. Still, I'm going to have a look. You're pretty handy with that firecracker thing. Cover me, please. The rest of you, help cover me or be ready to move in when I call out. Or if I break another board." Dietrich boards the ship and investigates the main deck. He checks the doors to the storage area and captain's quarters for traps. Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15 Result is 16 with respect to traps. Stealth: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18 ![]()

So talk, or you'll find out first-hand what waits in the Abyss!' Intimidate: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
