A familiar waft of meadows and poppies accompanies the healing magic as Den slowly eases the sore shoulder and watches the flesh knit back together. He smiles down at his companion. "That's better. You know the hardest thing is knowing when to leave. If the fight gets too much then we should all be prepared to run as one. I don't expect any foolish and unnecessary bravery. Be careful. He was originally a half-orc but he died in the forest in the service of Gozreh and Erastil, defending a shrine. The Circle reincarnated him and he came back as that gnome. A happy gnome - happy enough with being back alive that he gave out the next litter of these he found. I was lucky to get Draken because as a minor acolyte it was simply a case of being in the right grove at the right dawn. She doesn't seem to mind the deal." ![]() When the food arrives Den finishes his quickly then asks for a second smaller plateful for Draken. Meanwhile the druid tucks into the dark bread and pale cheese to round out his meal. Casually throughout the man watches the various comings and goings of the Inn while the sounds of slurping and licking comes from under his chair. Relaxed and satisfied, Den leans against the wall calm for the first time in a while, "we seem to lack a warrior and bulwark to defend the rest. Perhaps now is a good time to decide how we fight. I imagine a pile of kobolds will swarm us like rats and everyone must fight. But beyond that there may be chances for Avo and Pip to stay behind Leng and I. Aaron to use his bow." "I wish we could get someone more stealthy and skilled at any traps. I am able to stand and defend like Draken but then my spells will be less offensive." The musings trail off as he lets the others offer their views. ![]()

![]() After a few combats and life saving situations, it would be normal for us to start bridging the gaps and talking. 10.5 is average charisma and so Leng (and Den) are not that far off normal. Den is not a great conversationalist but I am looking for opportunities to get to know the party. Unfortunately that could be the kiss of death since the last two people he befriended left the game.. ![]() We are and Den's father was a noble lord subject to whims too. So Den is very happy that Avo is dealing with the Baroness. But he doesn't always play as nice. Cute little animals behave so much better than rulers must be most druids mantra. Taking Garekk as an example, Den whistles for Draken and leaves. He makes sure to politely nod to the Baroness and her son before going out of sight. "Goodbye My Lady." ![]()

I think he has to stay away from here, maybe 200 miles or more was the promise he made. Oh and he said he would see us again." Den shakes his head and mumbles to himself, "had a sword at his throat but couldn't kill a trapped beast. Even that imp. Sorry." ![]() Den lets the others help and takes a brief while to play with Draken. A game of tug and throw, tug and throw with a ragged ball of woolens. The marsupial is quick and strong enough to almost pull the druid over. All the time, her striped tail flicks back and forth in pleasure. Again the outdoorsman cannot help but laugh at the way things are turning out so well. "You want a go, Pip?" he offers the little'un in thanks for brightening up his day. Draken has one paw either side of the ball and is ready to spring, while he watches Pip with his head on one side. ![]()

![]() Den doesn't haggle - picks up a bow and looks at the cleric of Erastil and Leng. It is the plainest of the three there, with a dark string and worn grip of black leather. Of the other two, one is a shortbow, recurved and powerful while the other is a full yew bow, unstrung and requiring great strength to even restring. "I'm no bowyer but I .... if I mean to learn then I guess this one looks simpler. What do you think, gentlemen?" At some stage this week I realised that druids don't get the bow proficiency of Erastil that clerics get. So I maybe taking a level or two of ranger after this. D'oh. ![]()
