Regrettably, my experience with "Year 6: Year of Fortune's Fall" at Paizocon Online was underwhelming. Lack of specific skills left several players unengaged for the initial hours, resulting in aimless and tedius gameplay.
The flow and pacing of the scenario could be improved. Extended segments of dialogue followed by sequential combat scenes made both feel drawn out.
Dialogue should build up to conflicts and fights, winning a battle should feel meaningful, alternating between them prevents monotony. Furthermore, some Difficulty Class (DC) ranges for this level 1 adventure seemed extreme, causing elements to feel designed for failure, rather than meaningful engagement or interaction.
If this was my first encounter with Starfinder or SFS, I would be discouraged from returning.
