Davben moves along with the others thinking on their conversation as they walk. "I tend to agree with Nicea's sentiment, though I am not apposed to keeping them alive, people aren't usually much use when they're dead, but it is also very difficult to trust others to uphold the balance." He shrugs his shoulders "No way to tell if they'll make the correct decisions."

Liberty's Edge

Male Human Monk Unchained/3 Acrobat/1 | HP 32/32 AC 15, perception 11

Not seeing anything in the the hallway, and that it does indeed appear to turn back towards the room his companions were headed to, Davben silently slips into the hall and creeps down to the corner to see if he can get a look at whatever it is that's trying to sneak around down there. He's betting he's the more stealthy of the two.

Fair enough, you'd said everyone so I figured he was included with his above average perception, but even if he did hear, he's got to check out this sneaker

Liberty's Edge

Being pretty confident that there's noone waiting for him on the other side of the door Davben attempts to crack it open as silently as possible just enough that he can peek in hoping he'll be able to determine if it joins up with the room the others found.

Stealth: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28

Hearing the sounds of battle the monk knows he'll have to act quickly, if it's not immediately apparent this other path joins up, he'll have to quickly circle around to join the others.

Liberty's Edge

Male Human Monk Unchained/3 Acrobat/1 | HP 32/32 AC 15, perception 11

Davben makes his way silently over to Samara as well "Foyer? Anyone in there?" The monk asks in a hushed voice as Samara moves to the door further in"I think I remember another door just past the bunk room on the other side of the stairwell, if it connects we could come at them from both sides. I'll go check it out."

Unless anyone makes an attempt to stop him Davben sneaks his way over to the door just past the bunk quarters, and sees if he can make anything out.

Davben comes over to assist Zara spiking the door, he uses trusty hammer to drive the spike in more securely. Knowing that metal on metal strikes would ring out loudly he uses a portion of his bedroll folded over the end of the spike to muffle the sound of the pounding. "That should hold them at least for a while, but what is our plan? Are we looking to find another way down and surprise them?"

Liberty's Edge

Male Human Monk Unchained/3 Acrobat/1 | HP 32/32 AC 15, perception 11

Sure, Davben will get a good work out running up and down the stairs.

Liberty's Edge

Male Human Monk Unchained/3 Acrobat/1 | HP 32/32 AC 15, perception 11

Halfway up the stairs Davben hears the ruckus happening below, and quickly turns rushing back down to join the fray. He comes down just in time to see Nicea slashing open the one who must be responsible for the two downed companions "Nice hit Nicea, but what is this? Samara and Zara both already beaten? Maybe I can help" He hurries past the enraged woman and the bleeding bugbear reaching into his belt pouch the monk tugs out a small potion, then quickly kneeling by Zara he pops the cork and upends the contents into the unconscious woman's mouth. "Quit laying down on the job Zara, there's work to do."

Nah, just getting herolab all set up again on the new computer, and finding Davben's old portfolio was kind of a pain. It should be all good now.

Liberty's Edge

"In that case let's use the open area at mmmph" The monk's words are smothered by a sudden smooching. He pauses stunned for a moment "Errr... yes well, I'm not sure this is the best time for that."

The monk continues "Anyway let's use the opening at the top of the stairs rather than in the stairwell. Samara and I work well together, we could set up on either side of the entrance with Nicea in front, then any enemy coming up the stairs runs into a three prong attack. Damieka and Silva can set up where they have a good view to attack with arrows and magic, and Zara should have room to move around, and support anyone that needs it. We'll want to get them in a pinch while avoiding bottlenecking ourselves, but we should decide and get into position before they come back to find us." He turns to head up the stairs.

Liberty's Edge

Male Human Monk Unchained/3 Acrobat/1 | HP 32/32 AC 15, perception 11

Davben looks towards the stairs when Nicea suggests they retreat back up there. "Barricading the doors would be good, or trying to get through very quickly, though I doubt we'd be qiuck enough. We can't assume that this would be the only exit which means anyone who doesn't know we're here will soon. Retreating up the staircase isn't a bad idea, but we have to make sure we don't get stuck there, it's too tight quarters we'll need room to maneuver when the fight comes. You have some place in mind where you want to make a stand Nicea?"

Liberty's Edge

Male Human Monk Unchained/3 Acrobat/1 | HP 32/32 AC 15, perception 11

Davben positions himself on the opposite side of the door where goblin sounds are being heard, so if anything emerges it will be pinned between Samara and himself. The monk readies his punchers should any threat come through the door.

Liberty's Edge

"Well there's not a whole lot to see... I don't see any guards posted at doors or anything, the only two that look like they even could be guards look a lot more like they could be dead already... Why would there be dead goblins down there?" He asks curiously to Samara "Shouldn't we be the only ones leaving a path of deceased goblinoids?"

He shakes his head and goes for the stairs "Well either way we'd best be going, like you said Nicea's not known for her patience... she's not likely to wait for us."

Liberty's Edge

Male Human Monk Unchained/3 Acrobat/1 | HP 32/32 AC 15, perception 11

"Yes, a quick parting easy and quick, other goblins we find are likely to have a more brutal end." Davben agrees looking over the goblin bodies before moving over to see what he can spot from the lookout tower.

"Well seems a good a plan as any, shall we head over and deal with the goblins we saw?" Davben asks Samara as Nicea explains her plan and heads off. "We only saw a couple goblins in the other tower, if we move quickly it is unlikely they will know what hit them. We'll head up if you're ready."

Liberty's Edge

Male Human Monk Unchained/3 Acrobat/1 | HP 32/32 AC 15, perception 11

Davben nods towards the group in the other tower "You think we can take those ones by surprise too? They're not sleeping, but don't look like they'd expect someone to pop up and ruin their day."

Liberty's Edge

Male Human Monk Unchained/3 Acrobat/1 | HP 32/32 AC 15, perception 11

Davben quietly and carefully follows after Samara, and eases himself over in position by the other snoozing goblin. With a nod to Samara to indicate he's ready he crouches down grabbing the goblinoid by the chin and back of the head giving a sudden twisting jerk in an attempt to break the thing's neck.

Davben watches Samara's miming curiously, it was quite a display and curiously one of the longest and most expressive talks he's had with her despite not a word being spoken. He doesn't really get the tearing part, but more or less gets the gist of it.

He makes the same attacking with an oversized weapon mime that Samara did and shakes his head, he points to the trap door and cups a hand by his ear as if it were listening. He points to Samara then to himself, and makes a motion of opening the door then the surprised expression, and a few fake headlock punches just in case. After all the charades he gets ready to jump up when Samara opens the trap door.

Liberty's Edge

Davben makes his way over to where Samara is examining the western door. "If there are scouts, there's likely only a few, you don't leave a whole regiment on watch. Stealth may be a better option, it would be best if we can take them by surprise and keep them from sounding an alarm."[b] Nodding to Samara the monk continues [b]"Perhaps the two of us should slip up there to scout the scouts, we should be quiet enough not to be noticed, and if we feel there are more than we can handle we can just come get the others."

"Oh" He says as if he'd forgotten something "This dagger, it appears to be higher quality than the typical goblin junk, maybe you can make use of it?" He holds out the pearl handled dagger offering it to the young elf.

Liberty's Edge

Male Human Monk Unchained/3 Acrobat/1 | HP 32/32 AC 15, perception 11

The dagger definitely seems out of place to Davben, it clearly sticks out in contrast to the other junk laying around. It seems a little too tempting, but Samara uses daggers, this could be useful to her if it is special. The monk decides to make sure it's not trapped, or won't cause some kind of alarm, if not then he'll pull out the dagger.

Davben enters in with the others, thankful that no enemies appear to be around. "Well if we intend to do this quietly it's going to have to be a lot more quietly, with Nicea's booming voice I'm pretty sure we would alert less goblins if we provided written notice of our arrival, might as well howl and expect them to come."

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29

The sharp eyed monk quickly notices the out of place dagger, and he makes his way over to examine it. "What's this? It doesn't look like the typical rusty scrap metal that a goblin would call a dagger."

Davben grumbles as he's spattered with icky gobbo dog blood. "Ugh, Nicea, kill it don't spray it, these things are gross enough on the outside."

The monk looks at his hands when it's suggested he should give them a name "Hmm after Red Mist, I think any name I come up with fill fall short." He decides to throw some out and see if any feel right lifting one fist then the other in turn with each name "Trust and Betrayal? Dusk and Dawn? Justice and Revenge?" Furrowing his brow he adds "... Randal and Suzy?"

After the naming attempts he comes over to assist with the goblin disposal. When Nicea marvels at the distance he smirks "Oh it's a competition now." He gets a good grip on one of the short green bodies and heaves it out as far as he can off the cliff considering he's fairly well versed in throwing odd sized objects he should get some pretty good distance.

"Red Mist? Right, well I suppose that's about what's left of that dog."

The nimble monk quickly steps between the two remaining goblins, putting the mounted one between Zara and himself. "Ok string bean, you had your fun, the ride's over" He makes a quick thrust with his palm towards the little mounted monster, and follows up with a solid spinning back kick for good measure.

"Well as fun as it sounds to get Nicea out of that armour... like Samara said we don't want her stuck in a fight without it" Looking up at the cliff the monk lets out a sigh "I'll go first though I"d rather not become a smear on the beach either."

Davben starts getting ready securing the rope around his waist, then moves over to the cliff "Can't be as bad as it looks right?" He starts making an attempt at the long climb.

He looks towards the underwater entrance then adds "Better to save your strength anyway, the hard part is going to be the climb."

The monk sets out to swim across after Nicea and Zara following along the rope

Davben smiles back towards Nicea and nods, coming over to take her hand to climb out onto the shelf. "Yes I managed to get through, it's a very rough swim though, noodle arms and scrawny pants wouldn't have made it. It could be a good shortcut if you feel like climbing a wet slippery cliff. Otherwise I didn't really see anything very useful."

He nods back towards the opening he came out of "I tied off the rope on the other end, so if we tie it off on this end as well we can pull ourselves along instead of just trying to swim it, should be a lot easier. In case anyone wants to go over"

Liberty's Edge

Male Human Monk Unchained/3 Acrobat/1 | HP 32/32 AC 15, perception 11

Davben swims over to the beach where he unties the rope from his waist, and finds a good spot and ties the rope off to a good sized rock that even Nicea's strength shouldn't budge. He makes sure the rope is secure and won't slip, then takes a quick look around the beach to see if he notes anything of consequence.

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19

After the search he starts the swim back to the grotto hanging onto the rope in case the undertow starts to pull him away, but avoiding pulling too hard on it in case Nicea thinks he's in trouble.

Davben catches the end of the rope and starts fastening it around himself, he's not really sure what they're expecting to accomplish swimming out there, but it's hard to say no to Nicea when she beams that way, and really Davben's probably the most likely to make it.

"Ok I'll go see what's over there."" Looking to Zara he gives a wry smile "Well I think cold will be the least of my worries if there's another bunnyhop in there. I'll give the rope a good tug if I need saving."

The young monk leaves the end of the rope with Nicea, and starts swimming out to the explore the exit to the North.

Davben shakes his head at Nicea's question, "No I was a little preoccupied, I only swam down in the immediate area with the bunion, mostly avoiding being eaten."

Also not wearing any armour and having volunteered to swim Davben's a bit curious why Nicea decides Silva should be the one to do it... maybe she's ignoring him. "I'm sure we all want to be rid of Silva at least for a while, but he's really not the best choice... look how puny and scrawny he is he'll probably drown in two meters. If you think it is worth exploring I can go, I'm a pretty fair swimmer."

Davben shrugs his shoulder at the talk of a plan "When have we every gone in quietly anyway? If that's the way we need to go we shouldn't hesitate, though if there is a way around that won't immediately give us away we ought to explore it first."

Gesturing to the items he collected from the waters he adds "Anyone know if any of this stuff is worth anything? He lays out the items for the others to see looking at them curiously "It seems like the arrows are magical at least, but I'm not that familiar with magics."

At Zara's suggestion Davben volunteers "I can swim across if that is helpful."

Davben considers all that's being said about the climb to look for the treasure. There are good reasons on both sides of the debate though he's pretty sure Tsuto was not trying to mislead them."Well Damieka's already tying the rope, it'll take us longer to argue about this than to actually do it. And we're more likely to draw attention to ourselves if we stand around debating it. I'm just going to get it over with. Can you give me a light Silva? Maybe my fishhook I can just attach it to my clothing." He asks and offers the hook.

Davben will move over to the hole, remove the tent and bedroll from his backpack setting them to the side and finally pulling off his shirt placing it with them he wants the less weight and drag possible if he does need to swim. Once Damieka has finished tying off the rope and adding another for length, if she's going to, he'll take hold of the rope and start the climb down into the hole.

The climb shouldn't be too bad with a rope, if you're confident you'll be alright there's noone I'd prefer to have along with me."
