He weathers Tarina's words as best he can. Justice hadn't been served this night and as he turned to deal the barbarians there final blow Xi'Tir appeared and revealed her deeds. He was as shocked as Ni'Tir but he was disturbingly relieved. As Ni'Tir looked ready to rage Danath turned his horse and raised his lance. "Tarina is right and I am ashamed to be so even handed with thugs, murderers and thieves. Despite the tenants of my order tonight there will be no frgiveness for those that invade Slobada. Tonight we end this threat. Forever and without Mercy."
He doesn't look at Tarina as he asked. "Do you agree Tarina? We have little time to argue as they march on Slobada and Trivium as we speak."
I am assuming Tarina hasn't healed anyone yet. Which is fine she is a bit upset with us lol.
Male Human Cav 4, Bard 1, Battle Herald 3 Marshall 1
Danath watches them go a grim line on his face. Perhaps he was too merciful and would need to reflect on this later on. However after Ni'Tir drops the girl with the other survivors he rides off in the direct of Slobada. Intent on stopping this menace once and for all.
Male Human Cav 4, Bard 1, Battle Herald 3 Marshall 1
You executed them! xD Jeez. Well I don't blame you and oddly it does fit her way of thinking. :/
Danath stops binding there hands as he waits for their response watching them with a hard glint in his eyes in case they are lying...

If they seem willing to join us... And hopefully not betray us.
Danath's rage cools as he assesses their situation. With the addition of these Barbarians, as slaves or otherwise, this could allow them the opportunity to take on Dovan and this Armag and perhaps crush two great threats to the fledgling kingdom.
"I don't keep slaves, I keep free men, those willing to fight to free themselves from a petty overlord. If you promise to amend your ways and help us bring down Dovan and Armag then I will see you remain free once this is over."

Sorry for the wait, will give Eugene a call and get him to post. He's been rather glued to his new pad as it is a fancy little desktop replacement. Can't play heavy graphics games but he is still interested in playing. Life has just been a bit hectic for us this winter. Blargh.
Male Human Cav 4, Bard 1, Battle Herald 3 Marshall 1
Danath's bark was hard as the barbarians were surrendering. "On Your KNEES!"
He puts away his bow and rides over to them circling behind them as he pulled out rope and binds their hands tightly. "I will only parley if you know where Dovan is." The tone of his voice was beyond rebuke, if they had nothing to share they would remain bound...
As he bind them he can't help but look at the poor girl on the ground near the monstrous Ni'Tir. Seeing the tiger that circle's them he nods to Ni'Tir...

We all good? Ni'Tir answered and I am casting grease under there feet? Did we miss something Corsario? Also posted in other thread, I wanted to give everyone a chance to answer but no one else spoke up so I pressed forward with angry, adrenaline fueled red head with a big friggen sword and an attitude. xD

Danath seeing, Ni'Tir's plan raises his free hand as an arrow glances off his armor. He casts Grease underneath the barbarian's feet. hitting them all in their tightly packed formation.

With that he levels his bow and readies to unload arrows into his opponents...

This is going to be a difficult call. my post above assumes that it works against braced spears. If they are Long Spears then of Course Danath wouldn't be so foolish. However their spears don't have reach and this Mythic feat sounds like he leaps before the target and over them, which without reach he cannot use the braced spear against me.
He is focusing on jumping over their left flank avoiding the other spear bearer. The Spiked Chain is the only real problem. However if this won't work then I may need to pick a different mytic feat.
The weay I understand it is that so long as the DC beats the Leap, followed by a high enough Jump check then he bypasses the front liners (except the spike chain guy) and will easily strike the mounted archer. To succeed with this he'd have to leap 10-15ft high and he succeeded at a 40ft long jump. That would be the height required to jump over the Spearmen and the mounted target as it wouldn't make much sense for him to jump only high enough to slam into the man and stop dead. This feat was supposed to work in conjunction with Ride By attack.
However I can find no rule clarification on this, these are only my assumptions. Perhaps we should discuss this before the post above occurs. I merely posted it to show the intent of my actions. Thanks!

"Your spears won't save you..." He mutters loudly but was sure they couldn't hear from so far away. To the Kellids's surprise, no doubt, Danath spurred Aru into a charge, guiding his mount with his knees so that he could leap over the left flank of the enemy and thereby skewer one of the archers without the threat of their braced spears.
He elects the Barbarian on the left as his target for leaping over. Easily clearing the man and his ground braced spear as it lacked the reach his lance had. Just before reaching them he leaps well over the readied spearmen, the only threat was the one with the chain.

He had no pity for the man he had killed, rapists deserved no less then a swift brutal death. Had he lived Danath would have castrated him for his brutal assault on the girl.

The path of destruction weighted heavily on him as he personally accepted the failure of his idea. He had foolishly believed they could draw him out and this was the pain he wrought for his bravado. He would find a way to honor them. To find atonement for his sins...
Ni'Tir was lost to him as she soared high above...
He hears the sounds of crying and wheels Aru around, raising his lance as he rode closer to investigate...
Male Human Cav 4, Bard 1, Battle Herald 3 Marshall 1
Danath's face hardened beneath his armor and without a second thought he kicked Aru into a full gallop. His bellow was to try and rebuild the strength of the Militia as he shouted. "Hold or this will all be in VAIN! I will do what I can!"
80ft move speed. Full gallop towards the closest of the flames.
Male Human Cav 4, Bard 1, Battle Herald 3 Marshall 1
The blast of what could only be Ni'Tir's wrathful flames didn't phase Danath, he noted the direction with a careful eye. Wondering what these bandits were up to, especially this Dovan character. He wasn't surprised when Ni'Tir returned, in her monstrous form, pressing forward a handful of the remaining bandits. When they fell to their knees begging and pleading for mercy, he looked down on them while still astride Aru. His lance was leveled at the closest bandit as he raised his shield hand to silence the recruits and bandits alike.
He speaks to Tarina first. "Prophetess, can you please make sure that man doesn't die from his injuries."
He then regards the bandits. "What makes you worthy of it?" His voice was cold and echoed in the silence
He presses his knees into Aru and guides him forward, his lance tip prodding the bandit in the chest. "Some of you have robbed, raped and murdered others from a position of strength. Now you beg for mercy when the position is reversed? No."
He lets the denial sink in, making sure they understood just how precarious a position they were in before speaking again.
"General Whitemoor has offered a version of mercy that may not apply to you. Unlike those that came before you lot will need to work for it. If you return to a life of banditry, I will see you drawn and quartered myself for breaking your vows. I do not make threats lightly."
He raises his lance then, no longer harassing the bandit as he had been but his voice was no less stern. "You will work hard to redeem yourselves, you will spend your first months performing community labor, under guard and escorted at all times. Once you have earned the trust of the people you will be allowed more freedoms. Break that trust at anytime and you will face the gallows that day. You will not get another chance. We have no need for prisons or prisoners. You are not slaves. You are enemies of our nation and as such you should be executed on the spot. However we are more merciful then you or your leaders. If you succeed, you will be taught a trade of your choice and from there you will work to become citizens. No more watches, no more shackles. You will be working members of society, in a nation that will respect you once more. You may even be working for these fine people here at some point. However, you shall be treated with respect and dignity. Those who breach that trust will be treated harshly for a breach of trust whil you are in their care. Understood? Good." He waves to the recruits as he says. "Bind them for now and place them somewhere protected from the elements and warm. If one of them attempts to harm anyone... Hang them. As that will be a breach in trust."
The relief for them is short lived as he follows this up with a heavy question. "Now... Who can show us to your camp? And more specifically... Where. Is. Dovan?" This wasn't a simple request, he expected an answer and he had already laid out what would happen if they lied.
Male Human Cav 4, Bard 1, Battle Herald 3 Marshall 1
"We hold here." Danath's voice fills the ruined fort, he hadn't lost an ounce of his confidence despite the arrows that now stuck out of where they cut in his armor. Their attack was a feint and he wasn't about to charge into a slaughter. "Tarina is right on all counts, we will wait for Ni'Tir to return before deciding a course of action. However in the mean time I need you all to seal up the rear entrance as best you can. We will limit the direct ways in to only the front of this fort. That way if these fools try to mount an attack on us we can hold them at a single entrance and not be divided."
Once they were moving about their tasks he focused on the gate ahead once more. Pulling the arrows out of his armor, snapping them one by one before tossing them aside.
Male Human Cav 4, Bard 1, Battle Herald 3 Marshall 1
Danath was calm, he raised his lance and turned his back on the archers as he roused his companions and the militia with his boundless courage. "HOLD! We have the high ground men, take cover and Defend this place!"

The power he had gained in the dark tapestry lended strength to his voice as he tried to turn these warriors from their path of assured destruction. "You can still redeem yourselves, you need only join us! HOWEVER if you attack you will [fall forever! NOW WHERE IS DOVAN!"
He was a knight of the sword, unafraid of tyrants even in the face of certain death and he hoped that he could turn these men. Failing that he would at least kill Dovan the moment he revealed himself...
Are they wearing headbands or anything like Danath asked Dion to do Corsario?
Male Human Cav 4, Bard 1, Battle Herald 3 Marshall 1
Danath doesn't hesitate as he taps Aru forward and places himself at the entrance with one of the fires at his back. He lifts his lance in salute and its shining tip is a good enough indicator to those who can see him that he has clearly seen them.
Before seeing how they react he speaks to whichever farmer militia is closest. "Two dozen horsemen, quietly wake Xi'Tir and the rest of the Militia and be ready to move on my signal if needed." If he gets any protest he repeats what an old teacher had told him. "Better Tired then Dead."
Male Human Cav 4, Bard 1, Battle Herald 3 Marshall 1
Corsario & Fort Team:
Here we go! Just My Opinion change if you disagree guys!
1. Xi'Tir Will have first watch, Danath will be second so he can get two hours of sleep first, followed by Xi'Tir and allowing Ni'Tir and Tarina to sleep as much as possible.
2. Fighters (Farmers) are to remain at the fort, within the walls and under cover if possible. There will be five small fires, one at each side of the compound, near each entrance and one in the central grove. They are to cycle through who takes watch, minimum of two at each fire and, if possible, four guarding each entrance.
This is to give the illusion of a small camp, organized group.
Under cover is preferred in case of rain of arrows in the darkness, we wouldn't see it coming.
Note: If we were able to erect a guard tower like the one shown, we will station two men up there and leave one be the fires near each wall.
3. Danath will make rounds, needing only 2 hours of sleep to be fully rested. He will be alone for the first watch, save for some of the militia fighters to allow Xi'Tir the time she needs to sleep. He will share watch with Tarina and Ni'Tir to watch their back as they get their spells prepared.
4. Danath will spend most of his time near the front gate astride Aru so that he will be quick to attack anything that tries to enter. Chimalma will be stationed at the back opening to aid the militia just in case, Chi and Azurefang will be kept in the central grove to protect those of us who are sleeping.
Note: The casters and Xi were of the utmost importance and Danath hides the fact that he considers himself expendable in sight of the completeion of their quest.
Note Ni'Tir's grove has Alarm casted, those who are not attuned to it by her will set it off. Tarina, Ni'Tir , Xi'Tir and Danath will rest inside the sheltered grove.
Danath was on edge, yet as he detailed his plan, giving everyone there orders and position he knew he carried the heaviest burden. He needed to stay on his game or many would die because of his lack of focus. He was taking a grave risk with the Militia fighters and silently hoped he wouldn't need them.
He positioned the powerful war beasts where they needed to be and prepared for the worst. He addressed everyone as he laid out his plan. After giving the details he gave words of caution and motivation. "Assume that they will come at us tonight, keep focused and be wary. If they come we will stop them. Report anything out of the norm, do not stand alone and we will be victorious. If your falling asleep, wake someone else or tell me and I will cover as best as I can. Fight well, for freedom! For Victory! For SLOBADA!"
Male Human Cav 4, Bard 1, Battle Herald 3 Marshall 1
Oh I critical-ed.... Uh how does that work with Spirited charge......
So spirited charge is x3 to the damage dealt, but lance Critical wiuldn't be added to it, it would be stand alone... I think. This has honestly never happened before...
Male Human Cav 4, Bard 1, Battle Herald 3 Marshall 1
Danath will set people to fortifying sections of the wall, using the grove of respite to feed and hydrate those who choose to fight. Any exteriors doors will be secured and barred save for the rear and front gate. They will create a make shift barrier at the rear door of the fort to make sure nothing can come in from behind. If we can get a cart or even fallen logs from around the edge of the forest we will do that.
Danath is limiting the ways that Dovan can attack from, hopefully forcing a frontal assault where it will be more advantageous for our forces. Securing the doors is to prevent Dovan from using the dead to attack us. If the dead cannot get in then the Dead may/may not attack Dovan and his men instead. He is also fortifying as best they can to avoid the farmers dying if at all possible. Good Luck Everyone!

He notes their lack of real weapons, however his plan wouldn't involve them if he could help it. If anything he had no plans to use them for anything more then labor, defending improvised barriers and bluffing the enemy.
At her words Danath shakes his head and smiles at Tarina as the people gather their farm implements. "I didn't. I never made it my purpose to know other's impairments. Besides, from what you've just said You have the best skill of all Tarina, you will be keeping all of us alive. We will handle Dovan and the rest but these people will need the protection of the Prophet herself along with her powerful dire wolf.
He sees the work of Ni'Tir's magic and chuckles. "I hope Ni'Tir is able to turn the earth against them... As I plan scatter them tomorrow if they press us. I do have a question though... How well can you fight the dead?"
Male Human Cav 4, Bard 1, Battle Herald 3 Marshall 1
He slaps Dionýz on the shoulder lightly. "Stay safe my friend and good luck."
Once Dionýz was gone he turned to his companions. "Tarina, what abilities do you have to affect them at range? I have a plan to turn that hill into a gauntlet and I will need your help." His words were genuine and he favored her with a dashing smile, as he was looking forward to finishing this conflict.
He calls to Ni'Tir and Xi'Tir then with a loud whistle. Once they arrived he laid out his ideas. "Ni'Tir, we need to take that hill, secure the top and turn the land against Dovan when he attacks."
He looks to Xi'Tir then. "You will find the highest perch on that hill and be ready with your bow. Shoot to injure and halt any advance. Any that won't seek redemption willingly... Die on that hill."
"Keep an eye out for those wearing colored bandana's on their heads, they should be sympathizers and they will be our advantage."
Diplomacy:1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 14 + 2 = 31
He will return to the gathered farmers and gather the other groups that are nearby as well. He sits astride Aru as he addresses them all respectfully and proudly. "My Friends! My loyal countrymen! I ask of you what a man shouldn't, I ask for your aid in taking that very hill a tyrant ruled and for your swords to fight for a new land, a decent one! Free of injustice and tyranny by our own hands! Rebuilding the fort will stand as testement to that, but we will be opposed at every turn. So I ask of you, Will you fight!? Will you Stand and free yourselves from the bandit lords hold forever?!"
Male Human Cav 4, Bard 1, Battle Herald 3 Marshall 1
Will discuss it more in game but here is Danath's plan.
The Plan:
Have Dion report back to his superiors, hopefully stir up the hornets nest while we prepare for an attack on the Hill.
With Ni'Tir we can prepare turn the ground into difficult, damaging and possible slowing terrain. We can also build walls with Stone Shape. It may limit her spells some but we can turn the entire area against them.
With her mythic Flame Strike we can decimate their lines if Dion fails.
Stone Spikes can turn the hill into a nightmare (Difficult Terrain 1d8 dmg per 8ft they travel in a single turn and Slow if failed reflex, covers 8 20ft areas per casting...), turn stone to mud can further slow them down, entangle in the same area. wilderness soldiers. Druids are epic at anti siege and assault. With just three spells we could completely halt them killing them at range without meeting them in the front line. If they can get past all of that we can stone shape the path and force them to halt and still lay into them as they climb over the wall. After that they have to deal with 4 epic pc's and 4 animal companions, one of which has a 4d6+7 tail attack that sunders. We don't just have numbers but we have shear firepower on our side.
However Danath will try and turn the majority of the bandits against Dovan, the hill is just more defendable.
"Dionýz..." Danath said the next words carefully. "What I ask of you may be dangerous, if you are the only watcher this will work. So what I need you to do is go back and tell them we have returned to the fort. That it looks like we are rebuilding it and tell them who is there. Spare no detail. While Dovan plans on how to deal with us I want you to try and careful watch out for those who may listen. Don't approach anyone unless you are absolutely sure they will join. Make sure you are one of those who joins the attack, along with anyone else who will join us, I will need you all here."
He thinks for a moment before adding. "Wear something colored on your head to identify yourselves. That way if fighting starts we know who not to harm. I want to end this with as few lives lost as possible Dionýz." Can you do this for me?"

Danath looked very displeased by the actions after the battle, had the fort been captured intact it would have been more useful. It still could be reclaimed though...
Setting that aside for now he focused instead on where Dovan was encamped and if there was other watchers as well. "And I will do my best to do so. Do you know if anyone else was sent to watch this place as well? Do you know of anyone else who would join our cause and abandon Dovan?"
Betrayal was a word he hated, because for men and women like Dionýz, sometimes life dealt you a foul hand and you did what you could to survive. However today the offer of redemption was genuine, if he could turn the bandits against this Dovan then they had a chance of ending this conflict with minimal bloodshed.

That's too bad on the new players Corsario. Was looking forward to them joining us. :/ Let me know if you need me to change up some of my characters classes to fit other roles.

Danath and Seraph the Ambassador's of good will, Seraph turned Maria and others. Now Danath is turning some to our side. Hopefully it all continues to work for the better. :)

Danath dismounts after the man kneels. He reaches down and pulls Dionýz to his feet. "Don't kneel to me Dionýz, please, your not my bannerman nor a mere serf. It is good you seek a better path and seeking that forgiveness means you will have to take the same path that others like you have before. It's going to be tough, because you have to gain the trust of the people of Tirvium but once you have you'll be taught a trade of your choosing. He turns the topic back tot the task at hand. "However right now we have work to do and after this is over I will personally vouch for your efforts." He gestures politely for Dionýz to speak.
"Please tell us what you know that is happening in these lands now."

Edit Nevermind the dc, hot damn a 20! HA! If only it was more special but it still serves me WELL.

Emerging from the underbrush just after Tarina, Danath intervenes as Xi'Tir turns violent. "Enough Xi'Tir, his identity is his own." He reins in and sets his lance in its holder before opening the front of his dragon styled helm to regard this Nobody.

Danath looks the man over carefully before speaking more elegantly then the savage Xi'Tir who may have mucked everything up already. "You do not need to give us your name as that is your choice but please hear what I have to say without bias. Now, since you know us so well then you know why we have returned now. However it is the policy of General Whitemoor to accept the surrender of bandits who wish to reform and this practice has worked quite well. I am not assuming you are one Sir, however this Dovan she speaks of is one that we do not expect to surrender. I am only stating that our objective is not pure and utter bloodshed, but expansion in a peaceful manner, hopefully." He adds the last part genuinely, he'd rather avoid killing men that could be turned to good works instead.
He leans back in the saddle then seeming at ease. "With the fall of the Stag Lord we are here to claim these lands in the name of Slobada, to expand the kingdoms reach further then before. I will personally see to it that any man, woman or otherwise that assist us is rewarded. If they helped to remove those who would try and stop the progress we made, it would be a great possibility that they would be handsomely rewarded indeed. Now, I cannot promise land or titles but I would lend my voice to seeing those that aid us in taming this land be rewarded well justly for their efforts. It would be dishonorable not to and that is a stain I could not and would not allow." He wanted people to see their efforts and rewards in a positive light and not rewarding those who aided them would be counterintuitive to their objectives. He lets his words sink in for a moment before adding.
"What say you Sir, will you aid us or shall we be on our way?"
I may yet take feat of charisma, I am sorely tempted. Then BAM I can tame an unruly mob. A dragon or calm even the angry Nomen... Now I really want it...
I know I fall back on diplomacy a lot but it works quite well so far, less bloodshed and more progress. :)

Unless Danath knows exactly where he is I may not be directly involved until Xi'Tir's whistle. Post just in case.
At her whistle Danath wheels Aru around and heads in that direction, so long as Tarina is close by that is. He trusted in Tarina's skills but he wouldn't be able to face Venetia if he allowed Tarina to come to harm because he was negligent.
I will add more as needed but Danath will move that direction when the time comes...

At the news Danath was more then interested and looked to Tarina then. He didn't share her unease but he trusted her wisdom and instinct. "Not only do you have your mothers good judgment, but it appears you have her instinct as well Lady Tarina, I will trust your knowledge over my own. So perhaps it will be best to go and turn the good people back to their home before they get mixed up in our fight." He wheels Aru around and starts making his way towards the people who were following at a safe distance then.
