My wife and I have been living in the Odenton, MD area for about a year now and have been having trouble finding a PFS group that meets on weekends. Most of the groups we have found are weekday groups and due to work schedules that is unfortunately not doable for us. Can anyone point me towards a weekend group in the area? I hav already sent a pm to a venture officer in the area and gotten no response.

So, I wouldn't be surprised if this has already been asked and I apologize for rehashing, also I apologize if this is in the wrong forum.

I'm trying to make a Paladin for the new core only system and I would like to know if I can have a holy symbol emblazoned on my shield and have it count as a holy symbol. I have a couple ideas on how to do this, but I don't know if they would be legal. First, I could pay for a holy symbol and a shield and say that the holy symbol is part of the shield, of course I would use the symbol type that corresponds to the shield type (wood symbol for a wood shield, steel symbol for a steel shield). The second option is to buy a vial of ink and say that my character painted the symbol on the shield. I would obviously have to take a craft or profession skill that would be able to do that, and I might be have to do it in view of a GM. I might also have to pay for a holy symbol as well as the ink, and I would be totally ok with that if I could add that flavor to my paladin.

So what do you guys think, is this possible and legal.

Hi all, I just moved to San Angelo, TX and I would like to find a PFS group. I've talked to the owner of the FLGS (Specialties) and they don't have anything set up. Is there anyone in San Angelo that is running PFS?

I heard on the Know Direction Paizocon special on the PFS seminar that there were going to be new level 1 scenarios for PFS that would replace First Steps and that the first one would be the Confirmation and would be released in November. It is now October and I have yet to hear anything else about it. Is this really a thing that is happening and if so do we know when? I'm really looking forward to it and have created a character especially to start with it. I've also been holding off on doing Season 5 because I want this character to play as much of Season 5 as I can. He will be (if I can actually pull it off) the "ideal" pathfinder.

On tier 1-7 scenarios is out of subtier gold the average of all three subtiers? I'm sorry if this has already been asked or not.

Now, as a preface to this post I must admit that I have never played with psionics or even looked at them, however I have heard about them. From what I hear it basically revolves around an alternative casting system that utilizes a point based system rather than the traditional Vancian (sp?) system. With that in mind it appears to me that Paizo is steadily leading up to that system with some of the recent(ish) classes that have been released and Mythic and other systems they have released. Gunslingers for example have grit points to determine the fun little "extra"(for lack of a better term)stuff they can do. Samarai have resolve and Magus has arcane pools, Even the Monk and Ninja have ki for their super fun "extras", all point based systems. From what I have heard of Mythic, Mythic characters will have a "Mythic Point" pool from which to draw their mythic powers. Just some food for thought for those who are imptient for Paizo to officially release Psionics (or psychic magic). I think they are working on it and it is on the horizon, they're just slowly leading up to it so that it won't be a complete change to their system.

I have a few questions about the immolation bomb discovery that came up last night the first time I used them.

Immolation Bomb*: When the alchemist creates a bomb, he can choose to have its substance coat the direct target's body, causing the bomb to deal its damage over time instead of all at once. The bomb's effect lasts for a number of rounds equal to the number of damage dice the bomb would normally deal (for instance, a 5d6 bomb lasts for 5 rounds). When the bomb hits the direct target, the bomb deals 1d6 + the alchemist's Intelligence modifier in damage, and those within the splash zone take damage equal to 1 + the alchemist's Intelligence modifier. It repeats this damage against the direct target of the bomb each round the immolation bomb lasts, dealing the damage at the start of the alchemist's turn. Splash damage is dealt again to any creature that is adjacent to the direct target when it takes damage from the immolation bomb. A creature taking damage from an immolation bomb's direct hit can attempt to extinguish the flames as a full-round action that requires a Reflex save (DC = 10 + 1/2 the alchemist's level + the alchemist's Intelligent modifier). Because of the alchemical nature of this bomb, rolling on the ground does not grant a bonus on the saving throw, and dousing a creature with water does not stop it from burning. These bombs can be used underwater. An alchemist must be at least 3rd level before selecting this discovery.

This means that the bomb can be used underwater and that its a Damage Over Time (DOT) effect. Now what I want to know is, A) is a reflex save allowed for the splash from the dodge as it happens every round, and B)...You know what, I can't remember what B was right now but I'm sure it'll come to me in time.

So, I have a Beastmorph alchemist who just hit level six, which is when his second beastmorph ability kicks in. This means I get to select two traits from Beast Shape 1. The first Beastmorph ability says he gets one choice from Alter Shape. Do these stack? So, do I get one choice from Alter Shape, and two choices from Beast Shape 1? Or do I only get the two choices from Beast Shape 1? I will be playing with only the choices from Beast Shape 1 until I get a clear ruling. Thanks all.

I did not get to attend Paizocon 2012 but I heard the Grand Convocation was a ton of fun. Is there going to be one for Paizocon 2013? And if so, how does one get access to it? Would you just need to buy a 3 day badge or would the banquet tickets be what's required?

I play in Pathfinder Society organized play and I know that as part of the society players are supposed to choose a faction that they work with. I saw that the pcs in Shattered Star are expected to be part of the Pathfinder Society. Should I have my pcs pick a faction from organized play to support? And if so, should I work in faction missions somewhere along the way? Or, for the sake of the story that's already been created should I just ignore the faction aspect of the pathfinder society?
