![]() 18th Sarenith, 4713 As the group begins to look through Rohkar’s room you quickly come to the realization that there is not much in this room outside of a very comfy bed and the maple chest. Trawets begins to examine the chest while using Detect Magic and does not detect any magical traps on the chest, but there is a faint magical aura coming from within. Even after trying to study the aura for a bit, Trawets has no clue what type of magic it could be. Jujo jumps into place and begins working on the locked chest, but with no success… He begins to believe that whoever has the key to unlock the cage for Vrixx would also have a key to unlock this chest. hint hint: you wouldn’t be able to unlock this chest Revekka watches the door to the next room, but nothing seems to come to the door to open it. As you are standing there you think about what you just said perhaps we can find a few clues as to what he’s doing in this lodge in the middle of all the wintry weather When it dawns on you that the group was just upstairs in Rohkar’s planning room and everyone was so concentrated on the fey creature that no one even looked around the room for clues…. Alice steps next to the door leading into the next room and lowers his voice; “let me know when we are ready to open the door.” ![]()
![]() 18 Sarenith, 4713 Turning to Lady Argentea; "Help me bar the door, don't want anything out there to come in so easily." Nodding to Revekka; "We will also make sure nothing can get on the roof and smoke us out like we were able to do. I'll call out, but call out for us if you need more help as you explore the rooms." Ottast and Lady Argentea move to the backdoors to bar them from the cold weather and from the dangers that could lurk in the frozen forest. In Alice's gruff speech and mannerisms; "Let's check the charred doors first!" Pulling free Malice, he walks to open the doors. "This one was a room for anyone to get a few hours of sleep... if anyone is in there they know we are coming..." Alice opens the first charred door with Malice to greet anyone that could be within. It is empty. This small room reveals a single bed with no other furnishings. It does have a window to the outdoors that is frosted up, and a door that leads into the next room. The only thing worthwhile is a single winter blanket for whomever sleeps in the bed. Moving to the next door. Feel free to do anything or have any conversations you would have. I don't want to pass by and RP moments for you all.
Moving to the next room Alice speaks up; "This one here was Rohkar's room and even though he used it at night, Rohkar never let anyone sleep or enter his room." Opening the door reveals yet another empty room. Counting the one you're entering from, three doors open into this room. A sturdy bed heaped with blankets sits near the only window, and a large maple chest occupies the southwest corner. ![]()

As the group begins to gather, Vrixx continues to huddle itself in the corner of the cage, rocking and mumbling inaudibly to itself. As the conversation turns to what to do with Lady Argentea Ottast speaks up; “From up top I saw a few guys scatter out the back door and scatter east. There is no shelter that way and unless they make it out of this storm soon they will freeze to death. There are no shelters between here and Helldren.” Looking through one of the door windows; “They could have made it towards the stables, but I don’t see a fire. If they don’t get that going they are good as dead…” Looking around at the charred doors; “There are still rooms that we haven’t looked at, there could still be men hiding. We should take care of that before we talk about what is next.” ![]()
![]() 18 Sarenith, 4713 After many tries with the tools to unlock the lock, Alice and Jujo are beginning to get the feeling that you will need the proper key to unlock it. You spend a good amount of time working on the lock, all while Vrixx is cowering in the corner glaring at the two of you… What is everyone else doing while Jujo and Alice are working on the lock during this time?

![]() 18 Sarenith, 4713 Revekka, Trawets, Ottast, and Lady Argentea all hears Jujo calls for the group to reunite on the second floor. Moments later you hear what sounds like metal being rattled and slammed down. Vrixx hangs on for dear life as Alice picks up the cage and gives it a shake and slams it down. That action along with the threat of being tossed into the fire causes Vrixx to cower in the corner of his cage. But, even though he is cowering in the corner he glairs at Alice with hate and anger in his eyes. ![]()

Alice looks out into the snowstorm outside, it seems to have picked up. You can see where the bodies were because of the contrast of the blood red snow through the white snowstorm. Everyone: You aren't spooked or shaken, but there is a sense of fear that is starting to build up in the pit of your stomach. ![]() 18 Sarenith, 4713 @Jujo sorry about my possible misspeak, there is no other doors in this closet area or even in the larger room with the table and map. The other prisoners that Vrixx was speaking about is the Lady Argentea and Magni As Alice tries to unlock the cage that the sprite is in, Vrixx flies closer to the door to watch Alice. He begins to speak under his breath; “yes… yes… that’s it, that’s it…” But when Revekka continues the questions his frustration and irritation levels continue to show up again. “How did I come to be a prisoner? I was captured, that’s how!” Attention still on Alice and the lock; “come on… come on… you can do it!” With a frustrated sigh, Vrixx flies from the door to face Revekka; “Seeking? So many questions, just like Rohkar! He asked too many questions. He will be punished… Punished for locking me in here.” At that Vrixx hits the cage, causing enough of a jostling that it messes with Alice trying to unlock the cage and he drops one of the lock picking tools. When Vrixx hears this he flies over; “no, no, no, no. You big lug, open the cage! You can’t do it can you? I’m stuck… locked in here… I need out… they will come…” with the last Alice can see a grin slowly start to split the face of the sprite. Trawets: While everyone else is dealing with the sprite prisoner, you take a look out the window. At first the snow downfall is hindering your sight, but then you notice something odd. Where you killed the four men who ran out of the door of the lodge, there appears to be red marks moving away from the lodge. You can see the four blood-soaked snow spots from where they died, but then you can see marks as if something dragged or moved the bodies away from where they fell. ![]()
![]() 18 Sarenith, 4713 As Alice lays the options on the table, Vrixx slowly hovers towards the bars on the cage and holds onto them; “I already told you I don’t know where Rohkar went. I was in here with the door barely open. Whenever you all arrived you must have spooked all of them. Sounded like heard of mammoths crashing through the building.” looking at the group of you, Vrixx continues on; “But I will do no harm if you let me go.” All of you get the sense that Vrixx is telling the truth that he doesn’t know where Rohkar went to, and that he will do no harm. Since the cage is still in the little closet, what is everyone else doing who isn’t in this little room? You can still be part of the conversation, but are you standing around or doing anything else specific? Or this one over here making threats with your newly found Alchemist’s Fire…” With Revekka’s question about the stone, Vrixx turns his attention to her; “It was a gift, from a friend.” he turns to Jujo; “Does that clear things up enough to make sense?” Hitting the cage again; “I am a prisoner of Rohkar, clearly I am not one of the bad guys here.” ![]()

“Why are you wasting time! Vrixx is my name… Let me out of here before he comes back!” Slipping from an odd language back to common, the sprite continues speaking but addresses Alice; “Listen you big oaf. Do I look like I am in a situation where I would know where Rohkar went off too? I am locked in this cage, on a shelf, in a room that was closed. Clearly not in the best position to know what is going on outside of this little room…” the sprite continues to fly around trying to get out. Why would Rohkar keep you captive? Turning to Revekka “Why would he keep anyone captive that he does? I overheard that they have two prisoners held captive. Let me out of here and I tell you more about them. I know where they are held, one is a noble… could fetch a large purse if returned to mommy and daddy I am sure…” As Jujo mentions We’re a noble group of heroes the sprite lets out a sigh “Oh noble heroes! You have come to save me, free me from my prison. I have been barred for far too long. What day is it? What year is it? Is it spring? Summer? Fall? Winter?” Trawets examines the items within the chest as he Detects Magic on them. The three pieces of paper within the scroll case are magical and radiate necromancy. The first try of figuring out what the item is does not prove successful. With the second try Trawets determins that all three scrolls are Scrolls of Lesser Animate Dead. Pulling the vials out from the chest only the 3 vials of blue liquid show has magical and radiate transmutation. With the symbols on the bottle, plus your magical knowledge, you know that all 3 are Oils of Magic Weapon
The large blue quartz does not show magical auras. But, as the sprite sees it being pulled from the chest it begins to become increasingly irritated; “Don’t touch that! It’s mine! Give it to me!” As it even more aggressively tries to get free from its cage. Jujo and Revekka: When you two see this large blue quartz, you know that this is something a little bit rarer and more valuable. This is an “ice diamond” from Irrisen. ![]()
![]() 18 Sarenith, 4713 Hearing what Alice calls the creature it begins to fly about the cage, crashing into the walls trying to free itself; “Winged GNOME!!!” the creature shouts out; “Open this cage up and I’ll show you a winged gnome!” It continues to fly around frantically within the cage, even pausing for moments to try and pull the bars free and biting at them. Alice is unsuccessful when looking around the room for an escape route, but he does find a chest that does not appear to be locked. Opening The Chest:
Within the chest you find: A scroll case with three pieces of paper within. A vial of green liquid 10 vials of red liquid 3 vials of blue liquid A pouch containing 25 Platinum Pieces

The sprite turns its head to Jujo as he begins speaking a language unknown to most of you. The sprite smiles at Jujo as it begins to speak. Sylvan:
“Please... please… please let me out of here. Rohkar is a mad man! The torments I have had to endure… Rohkar has the only key and you have to let me out, break the door open. If he comes back and finds you in here, he will kill us all! The sprite is franticly flying about as it is talking to Jujo. Jujo:

Alice looks over the floor and the door for tracks or any signs of recent movements. The floor does show heavy wear from boots, which is not unexpected because all of the bandits within here wear heavy sturdy boots for traveling in the woods and to keep their feet warm in the snow. There is nothing that stands out in the form of recent tracks because outside of the scuffs, the floor is rather clean with nothing to leave a trail in. Looking over the door, that is slightly open Alice does not see anything suspicious. If Alice opens the door to see within the room: As Alice opens the door, it reveals a roughly 5-foot square room. Dozens of small boxes, bottles, and papers fill this musty storeroom. A small iron cage sits on the top shelf, emanating a flickering light like that of a candle. Oddly enough, there is no one in this room. No chest large enough to hide a person within or anything else for that matter to keep a person in. “Hey, there ya go big guy. Up here, in the cage” As Alice, and anyone else near the door can see, looks up to the cage with a flickering light he can see a winged creature within a cage. The creature within waves at you.“Now how about you let me out of here before Rohkar shows up again.” Anyone with ranks in K-Nature knows this to be a Fey creature called a Sprite.

“Pimples? Why would anyone want to pop your pimples?” As Jujo begins to walk towards the door he begins to hear the sound of someone trying to break free from something. “That is that most ridiculous thing I have heard in a long time” Magni begins equipping his armor and his belongings. Alice, still convinced Rohkar is still in the room, continues calling out as he looks for him. Alice enters and is able to walk through this room and notices there is nowhere to hide, and he isn’t under the table. You all get the sense that between the fight outside and the time spent putting out the fire, that Rhokar has indeed slipped out. ![]()
![]() 18 Sarenith, 4713 Talking to from the side room “Turn into smoke? What are you talking about. I heard shouting about fire and sounded like the whole place cleared out. Get in here and let me free!” As Revekka tells Ottast to keep a sharp eye out he positions himself in front of the Lady and readies an arrow; “I’ve got things covered down here.” From what you have seen of ability previously, you know you can move forward without worry of something sneaking up behind you. The smoke in this L shaped room has cleared enough to see that no one is in the room. Jujo’s, Trawets’ and Revekka’s scan using Detect Magic come up empty handed. Due to the uniqueness of the weapon, Alice might be distracted away from whomever is talking in the side room as he sees a Warhammer propped up next to a full duffle bag, a bow, and a shield. The weapon does not look to be made of your typical metals. Magni would recognize this pile of equipment. ![]()

You look around this room and discover nothing magical with your spell. Alice calls out with no response for a few moments, then he hears someone whispers out to him from the room next to the door. (left of character/right on map) “Pst… is he gone? Help! I’m trapped in here.” When doing a perception check, let me know what your character is doing. I only say that because if they are not doing anything specific with it I am going to assume they are just taking a glance from where they are on the map. ![]()

That room did not look like it allowed much space with the size of the table I saw in there.” Ottast offers. Alice leading the way, with Magni and Jujo right behind him, as the group begins to climb the single set of stairs. Jujo does not notice any traps from his location on the stairs. ![]() 18 Sarenith, 4713 No, Ottast will not be turning on the party. The smell of wet burned wood, paintings, rugs, and mounted animal heads fill the room as the group begins to meet the newcomers. With a dismissive wave of her hand, Lady Malassene responds with a shake of her head; “It will not be necessary. Though, a warm bath will be in order once I arrive back in… Heldren wasn’t it? I do believe the proprietors of the inn was husband and wife duo. They were quite hospitable, meager as their inn was.” With a smile as Trawets and Revekka explain how they came to her rescue, Lady Malassene again thanks everyone. But when Revekka mentions the bandits scattered to the four winds she chimes in; “It would not have taken much to do that. Though I am a lady and a captive, I can tell when people will run on those who rule over them. Rohkar cares only for himself, not those he leads. He discards them as useless pawns, but even without pawns you can never win a game of chess.” Pointing to a waterskin on Jujo; “May I? It seems the heat has sucked all the moisture out of me.” she takes a long drink from the waterskin if Jujo gives her it. As she is drinking, Ottast responds to Jujo; “From up top I only saw the four that came out of the doors that you all took care of, and four more that fled out the other door. They ran back the way we came from. None of them had the look of the man I saw in the window.” Ottast describes this man as the man he saw in the window of the second floor. Lady Malassene says; “That is Rohkar. That is his planning room. They originally held me on in one of the bedrooms over there,” she points to the doors that were revealed once the fire was put out; “but Rohkar threw me into the cellar when he realized I was being overly observant for a captive.” “Then if he didn’t run past you all in the fight, he must still be up there…”Ottast says freeing his bow from his back. Alice & Magni: I would have to say that due to unknown reasons, Rohkar kepts this weapon and Magni’s belongings to himself. ![]()
![]() 18 Sarenith, 4713 With haste, the five of you jump to work trying to put out the fire. Revekka takes the lead by giving direction on how to battle this fire. With Revekka, Alice, and Jujo working with the towels and barrels of water from the kitchen while this new Dwarven man begins working on the fire top down as he conjures water after calling upon Desna. Working together, the party is able to subdue the flames revealing two charred doors. Looking around, the decor in this great room and the dining room next to it have been completely destroyed by the fire. You can also see damage to the floor and walls due to the fire. Though there is damage to the structure, it is still solid enough to walk on. Standing in the door way of the double doors behind the group, the woman who was in the cellar clears her throat; “It appears that thanks are due.” Though her hair is disheveled and face and clothing is covered in dirt, this woman strides into the room as someone who is used to commanding the attention of the room when she enters. Holding her head high; “I am Lady Argentea of House Malassene of Oppara” Simple knowledge check would reveal that Oppara is the capital of Taldor and the largest city in the realm “Thank you for your heroic efforts in rescuing me. This deed will not go without notice or reward. Though these men have destroyed my caravan, and without a doubt pillaged my belongings within, they did not acquire this.” Pulling a pouch free from the bum roll padding around the waistline of her dress, she holds it out expecting someone to take the pouch. Once taken, she brushes off her hands; “I saw the four dead outside, but none had the look of Rohkar. Have you come across the leader of these bandits? It would be in your best interest to take him captive and question him. I do not know if it is their over confidence or a telling sign that I was not expected to live much longer, but Rohkar is the link between this group and those that are causing this weather.” As Lady Malassene is talking Ottast appears behind her from the roof. ![]()
![]() 18 Sarenith, 4713 As the woman is helped up from the trap door, she does not pay any mind to what Jujo says as she quickly runs from the burning building outside. As she arrives outside, she is quickly greeted by the freezing cold of the winter outside and begins to hold herself and rub her arms trying to produce any kind of warmth. Magni is left at the bottom of the celler without his cellmate even looking back to thank him for the boost. Trawets, Jujo, and Alice are brushed by without a word of thanks. Revekka was last in the kitchen and did find two barrels of water and various sized towels. Magni:
You do not remember how you came to be in the celler. You do remember being attacked and the next thing you remember was the woman standing over you ordering you to wake up. You believe that your belongings are within this building. Side-note, you currently have an amazing 0-level spell at your disposal
The fire within becomes visible as you hear more crashing of windows, which Jujo and Alice would know that is Ottast breaking windows to help clear the smoke from the building. The fire is blazing, but you might think you could get it under control and save the building, and the contents within. If you work fast enough. ![]()
![]() Hey guys. I am excited to see everyone back on here talking. Things for me is kind of hectic, but I still want to continue this game. My boy is starting school back up again, which is interesting, and seminary is starting back up for me. With all of this being said, I DO want to continue this game. I might not be able to post every day, but I will be continuing the game. I apologize for my personal roadblocks and how that has impacted people being active in the game. ![]()
![]() 18 Sarenith, 4713 Upon hearing Jujo's command, Ottast sends his hand axe promptly through the first window to help relieve some of the smoke. At the urgency of hearing a female screaming from below, Trawets springs into action as he bends down and breaks the lock free from its clasp. Opening the trap door, Trawets sees a soot covered woman and dwarf looking up at you. @Magni would you like to describe yourself, minus what you are missing? Jujo rushes in just intime to see this mighty act of strength accomplished by this oddly assembled party’s least likely suspect. From down in the cellar the woman speaks up. “You best close your mouth and help a Lady up. And DON’T you get the wrong idea about this dwarven man and myself down here. He was tossed in early yesterday morning.” she holds her hand up to be pulled up; “Come on, its getting hotter by the second.” as she twitches her hand to be pulled up from the celler. Both Revekka and Alice can hear the commotion. @Trawets ate his Wheaties this morning with that monster strength check! Great roll!! ![]()

Revekka also finds different sizes of towels from simple hand towels to those that could be used as aprons. She also finds two barrels of water that must be used as cooking and drinking water, but discover bits of unknown food bits floating within. Jujo & Alice

Magni: Head aching, nose filled with smoke, and the sound of a woman screaming. “Down here, we are still down here!!” the screaming woman bends down and shakes you the rest of the way awake; “Stubborn dwarf! You best wake up and get us out unless you want to roast down here alive!” You snap to and realize you’re laying belly up on a cold hard floor. Looking around you see half-dozen boxes and barrels taking up the majority of this underground cellar. You can see a thin layer of smoke starting to creep in from the trap door above. The moisture from the ground hisses on the stone walls as the heat begins to rise in what could really be a stone oven. You reach for your Warhammer to break through the door only to realize it is not at your side. A bit of panic sets in as you realize all of your gear is gone and you are standing only in your traveling clothes and a winter cloak. You do not need to make your post in a spoiler box. I just wanted this bit only for you.

I do follow aging rules and have a personal soft spot for the elderly wizard. Races: Core, archetypes are welcomed. Classes: All, minus the occult classes. My in person gaming group has never delved into that realm so I know nothing about them. Archetypes are welcomed. Traits: 2 and one must be from the RoW Player's Guide. I will allow a drawback for an extra trait. But, all of your traits and the drawback must be built into the character. Starting Gold: Max +50. Buy what your character would need in their daily life. You never know when you are going to need that mirror, fishing lure, and false-bottom cup. Alignments: I am open to all alignments. This is a team game and as in real life if a person isn't working well on the team they can get let go. The same goes for your PC. Background skills: I will allow background skills, but use them to help enhance your characters background. Background: Who are you? How did you become more than the common commoner?
