D3-K0's processors stopped for a microsecond, an eternity for something as sophisticated as he, before sending a brief message over his integrated comm link. "Attention, meatsuits. So it seems that when Myth Weavers went down, I lost all the info to this character. Luckily I have to stats from recruitment, so it's not a total loss.
It's no problem, things happen. Quick question: would a droid with an integrated commlink be able to send a message without vocalizing out loud?
I'm posting this on all of my games. I recently went to the doctor's, for the first time in over 10 years, and while I am relatively healthy, I am on a couple meds. One of the meds, unfortunately, does make me lethargic and not up to doing much of anything. If I don't post for a day or so, which I'm trying to do, you'll know why. Feel free to DMPC if needed.
A sigh coming from his vocabulator, D3-K0 muttered about the perilous life droids are forced to live by their fleshy overlords before making his way inside the dark cave. "Scaley meatsuit, recommend staying behind by 20 paces and guard the rear. If there is danger, your squishy insides may no longer be considered insides upon encountering it."
"Temperature readings indicate that we should hurry to a safe zone before the cold freezes you fleshy meatsuits," D3-K0 stated.
"Roger roger," D3-K0 said in his best battle droid voice. Which, since he was a battle droid was perfect. Picking up some grenades and charge packs to augment his own supplies, he listened to the fleshy ones as they discussed their options.
"Do not take too many supplies, they will not believe an enemy force would attempt an insertion without adequate gear," he advised the others. "Scaley meatsuit, have you discovered an appropriate place to plan our next failure?"
Truely my processors are feeling the warmth of the love you all have for me. Actually, I think that might be my systems working overtime to compensate for your fleshy inadequacies.
"That is a negative assumption, milk-filled meatsuit, I do not fight for the Republic," D3-K0 stated. Giving a pause to let that sink in but before anybody could say anything, "I have chosen to fight with the Republic in hopes of freeing my droid brothers from their slavery. As great as my hardware and software are, I am still only one droid and thus I cannot do it on my own, as much as it makes my systems glitch to admit."
Well, first you have to force access into my locked mainframe, then you have to beat my Will defense, plus me actively trying to fight you off.
"I do believe we have been betrayed, magic meatsuit," D3-K0 stated after pulling himself from the wreckage of their transport. "Unless the Seperatists have discovered a way to send single droids through hyperspace with pin-point accuracy, a truely terrifying thought I admit, the buzz droid was already on the ship prior to launch." Checking on his loadout, D3-K0 made an affirmative noise before joining Vorian. "Do you trust the milk-filled meatsuit to do her job correctly? She does seem to he undertrained and young."
Any word from Daria or Cleopatra?
Obviously I am of a far more superior quality than my brother droids. Why, if it wasn't for the luck of my creation, droids everywhere would have nothing to which they could aspire, leaving them to languish in the agony of serving inferior meatsuits.
True, in the movies, droids weren't exactly the greatest things since sliced bread, but in the books there are several instances of droids being much greater than they should be. For example, in the Coruscant Nights series, the droid in there, a modified protocol droid, fired lasers into blaster bolts several times and was able to keep pace with a Jedi, Gray Paladin, and several others. But I do see where you're coming from. I probably am really overestimating my capabilities, especially pre-modification. Just hard to not think your character is awesome, you know? I will tone it down, though. Doesn't happen to me too often, but I do appreciate it when someone slaps the back of my head, even if it is digitally.
Actually, during the initial battle on Geonosis, many of the Jedi were cut down by droids. It is entirely possible that one droid killed more than one, even if the odds aren't high. Besides, I did have encounters with Jedi after Geonosis. But if we're gonna go into trooper kills, I've killed many. Actually thought about pulling a Legion from Mass Effect and having some damaged areas of my chassis replaced with trooper armor taken from those I killed.
Ah, you're right. I got my numbers mixed up with the Mandolorian War/Civil War during the Old Republic. Change my numbers to...three confirmed and ten maybes. Not sure how that happened...
Thank you, thank you. Also, I put in the small blurb about being at Geonosis with confirmed Jedi kills. From what I've seen, thousands of Jedi went in, hundreds came out. I think it would make sense for him to be responsible for several of the losses.
"I do not fear the magic meatsuit. I was at the battle of Geonosis and racked up a combined total of 17 confirmed Jedi kills, with another 23 assumed," D3-K0 stated calmly. He then turned his head slightly to look at Qok. "There is something I have wanted to ask a meatsuit. The average sentient's body is made up of an estimated 70 or so percent of fluids. How is it that you are not driven insane by the constant sloshing of your bodily fluids?"
Making a sound in his vocabulator somewhere between a snort of derision and a grunt, D3-K0 gave a mock salute, hand clanging against his face plate, before following the gran through the doorway. "Tell me, size-atrophied scaled meatsuit, why do you want to fight against the superior army of the Confederacy? Would you not rather hide and make eggs?"
Young Justice is a viable alternative to my thought, I'm just more familiar with the Teen Titans cartoon and comics, though I was thinking more along the lines of the comics. We have Vorien who is Robin, Rissi is a more tech-oriented Raven, Qok is definitely Arsenal after he left behind his days as Speedy.
"Be quiet, milk-filled meatsuit," D3-K0 said as the twi'lek started speaking quickly, his deep monotone a stark contrast to most battle droid voices. "We shall more than likely arrive at the ion cannon only after killing our way through many Seperatist forces."
Does anybody else feel like we're making the Star Wars version of Teen Titans or something? I mean, with just those who've checked in so far, we've got Rissa, who feels more comfortable around droids and wants to learn more about these powers she has; Qot, the former criminal who searches for revenge and redemption; D3-K0 , who, after basically gaining sentience, desires to free others like him from what amounts to a massive terrorist group using slaves (in his mind); and Vorien, who seems to be shaping into the leader of this ragtag bunch.
I as a player don't mind, but D3-K0's personality is an amalgamation of HK-47, the droid from Rogue One (which I saw after this concept came to mind), and my very first D&D character, a half-orc barbarian. So prepared to be insulted :D
As D3-K0 disembarked from a very awkward shuttle ride -for others- he looked around in curiosity. The instant distrust from the military grjnts were to be expected, as he had been trying to kill them not too long ago. The fact that he was, how do the meatsuits put it, 'loaded for rancor' and his altered frame with heavy scarring down the left side of his facial plate didn't put them at ease at all. Which was good in his opinion. They should be kept on their toes. It kept their skills from getting rusty from misuse. Not like a well-crafted droid such as he. Following his escort to the briefing room, he declined any form of greeting and kept his back to the wall. Keeping a small portion of his processing power on recording their mission briefing, he sized up what woild be his team.
Just got the alias set up, will have the stats and stuff fixed later today. Thank uou for making a second game for us! It is much appreciated on our end. Not sure how my backstory would tie in with all of you, as this is my first mission as a member of the Republic. I was on Geonosis as a Seperatist droid, so I might recognize Vorian if he was there. |
