Backstory should be linked, I think - seems likely that the Republic would want to use a group that's worked together before.
Rissa is a mechanic/slicer and no slouch with a rifle. She's not a clone, obviously, so probably wasn't at Geonosis on the front lines; but when Republic SpecOps needs something done on the quiet, she's there.
She probably appreciates the fact that Vorian is a bit more pro-active than most Jedi, and may have asked for some guidance on her latent Force talents. Vorian might even know Matesh, the human Jedi who rescued Rissa from slavery.
I could go for that. What's Rissa's feeling on the Jedi in general outside of Matesh? And is there anything specific you had in mind for Matesh having done during the Clone Wars thus far?

Not sure how my backstory would tie in with all of you, as this is my first mission as a member of the Republic. I was on Geonosis as a Seperatist droid, so I might recognize Vorian if he was there.
Vorian - good question, I was leaving it to the GM to decide what role (if any) Matesh plays in the larger scheme of things. As for attitude to the Jedi, Rissa is hugely favourable - she was rescued by one, after all. She values the Republic because she values the Jedi, and works for the Republic because the Jedi do. She might wish they were a bit more proactive, though.
D3-KO - I agree that your backstory probably doesn't tie in with Rissa's, but she likes droids (she's more comfortable around them than around people) so if you can cope with lots of technical questions about your heuristics and so on, should get on fine :)
I as a player don't mind, but D3-K0's personality is an amalgamation of HK-47, the droid from Rogue One (which I saw after this concept came to mind), and my very first D&D character, a half-orc barbarian. So prepared to be insulted :D
Hey guys! Qot is en ex-criminal - a bounty hunter with several contracts fulfilled against the republic, who was arrested and cut a deal to help with intel and his sniper skills. Since he was betrayed by the separatists, he has a hatred towards them and a will for revenge, but as times pass, he gains more sympathy for the republican ideals.
Does anybody else feel like we're making the Star Wars version of Teen Titans or something? I mean, with just those who've checked in so far, we've got Rissa, who feels more comfortable around droids and wants to learn more about these powers she has; Qot, the former criminal who searches for revenge and redemption; D3-K0 , who, after basically gaining sentience, desires to free others like him from what amounts to a massive terrorist group using slaves (in his mind); and Vorien, who seems to be shaping into the leader of this ragtag bunch.
Feeling pretty whelmed by that notion :)
I'm afraid Teen Titans rather passed me by, but I'm happy to take your word for it if that's a good thing :-)
Young Justice is my favorite, personally, though I did enjoy TT back in the day!
Young Justice is a viable alternative to my thought, I'm just more familiar with the Teen Titans cartoon and comics, though I was thinking more along the lines of the comics. We have Vorien who is Robin, Rissi is a more tech-oriented Raven, Qok is definitely Arsenal after he left behind his days as Speedy.

I actually wanted to make him a Rattataki, but couldn't find stats for the race and ended up going with Gran.
Saga generally regards near-Humans, mechanically, as humans. Rattataki and Kiffar characters would just take the Human stat block.

Also, Qot, I have a feat suggestion for you; Steadying Position. Galaxy at War, page 26. If you're prone and aim, your target does not benefit from it's Dexterity bonus to it's Reflex defense, which should also satisfy the conditions for Dastardly Strike.

Also, I put in the small blurb about being at Geonosis with confirmed Jedi kills. From what I've seen, thousands of Jedi went in, hundreds came out. I think it would make sense for him to be responsible for several of the losses.
Around 200 Jedis went into Geonosis, and less than 2 dozen left. I'm not sure where you came with your numbers, but with several thousands of droids on the battle, even if you managed to shot one of the jedis that died, that would have been quite an impressive feat already.
Ah, you're right. I got my numbers mixed up with the Mandolorian War/Civil War during the Old Republic. Change my numbers to...three confirmed and ten maybes. Not sure how that happened...
No droid could come even close to these numbers (3 jedis... lol ;). If you're referring to clone troopers it's almost possible. Jedis? Not even on the sweetest dreams of a droid :)
Actually, during the initial battle on Geonosis, many of the Jedi were cut down by droids. It is entirely possible that one droid killed more than one, even if the odds aren't high. Besides, I did have encounters with Jedi after Geonosis.
But if we're gonna go into trooper kills, I've killed many. Actually thought about pulling a Legion from Mass Effect and having some damaged areas of my chassis replaced with trooper armor taken from those I killed.
I believe you're greatly overestimating the ability of droids in true Star Wars! I mean, I know the Saga system makes them look good (so to provide some balance and fun for the people trying to play as a droid), but in Star Wars lore (movies, books, TV series, whatever) droids are worse than cannon fodder and were destroyed much more frequently than troopers. Especially those dumb B1 Federation droids. The B2s were still bad but slightly better. The P series (droidekas) were at least respectable with their shields. I can't help but think of a B1 droid boasting about killing a Jedi, then shooting himself on the head and dropping in flames. Sorry to rain on your parade, but Jedis and Siths are in a whole new level. Unless you're like a child Padawan hunter type of droid lol
True, in the movies, droids weren't exactly the greatest things since sliced bread, but in the books there are several instances of droids being much greater than they should be. For example, in the Coruscant Nights series, the droid in there, a modified protocol droid, fired lasers into blaster bolts several times and was able to keep pace with a Jedi, Gray Paladin, and several others.
But I do see where you're coming from. I probably am really overestimating my capabilities, especially pre-modification. Just hard to not think your character is awesome, you know? I will tone it down, though. Doesn't happen to me too often, but I do appreciate it when someone slaps the back of my head, even if it is digitally.
You're cool, Deko! Don't worry, my friend. To be sincere, the droids in Saga are awesome, as they are in all SW RPG's. So, the character is awesome and probably could keep up with a Jedi without any issues. In SW lore, however, it'd be hard to believe :) Sorry again for raining on your parade, though. I think this game is going to be great on its essence, especially with the whole Teen Titans thing going on.
Between 170-180 Jedi died at Geonosis. Most of those were killed by droids. The reason for that is that the majority of Jedi at the time were practitioners of Niman, also known as the diplomat's form. It was a generalized fighting style less intense in it's training demands than others, allowing Jedi more time to meditate and serve as diplomats or councilors. It was, however, a form ill-suited to open battlefields and multiple opponents. Every single practitioner of Niman at the Battle of Geonosis died.

You just stated the same thing I said about the quantity of people that died...
Just keep in mind that for each jedi that died, a dozen or more droids probably did. Maybe even a hundred, since the clone troopers do some damage but aren't as dangerous as Jedis. Just try to estimate the size of the Federation Army there. Definitely the jedi that died probably were due to droid fire - besides droids, who else the Federation had on Geonosis? Diplomats? Geonosians? One bounty hunter? A Sith Lord that didn't fight? So, it's quite obvious the robots did the damage, but they did so based on the sheer quantity of droids, not the incredible individual abilities of high-tech droids :)
EDIT: Quick Research: The Federation deployed one million droids to Geonosis. There were 192,000 clones deployed there, and around 100,000 clone died or were MIA. Around 1/6 of the Federation troops deployed there escaped. It means more than 800k droids were destroyed by less than 100k clones and 200 Jedi. Lol #themoreyouknow ! Of course these numbers count the entire Geonosis battle, not only the Arena part. But it doesn't include the space battle on the asteroid field either! And apparently only one Jedi died after the arena.
Yep! I was just sharing why those Jedi were wiped out. If there had been more practitioners of Shien or Soresu or even Ataru the Jedi probably would have fared better. Jango Fett counted for at least one Jedi, but otherwise the casualties were all droids, and the droids kills were based on their quantity, not quality.

Obviously I am of a far more superior quality than my brother droids. Why, if it wasn't for the luck of my creation, droids everywhere would have nothing to which they could aspire, leaving them to languish in the agony of serving inferior meatsuits.
