Curnach saw little need to use his magic further on the disabled, laughing man. His incredibly keen eyes scanned the battlefield for further mantis assassins launching a secondary attack or Shoanti in need of saving. Perception: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (7) + 24 = 31

Whatever creature it was that threatened one of the few friends his group had managed to make in this cesspit of chaos and tribalism, Curnach was not interested in allowing it to finish Krojun off. Focusing the power he drew from the powers of the Green Faith, drawing magic from the very air around him, Curnach forced his will onto the creature, attempting to turn it into a simple hedgehog. Persistent Baleful Polymorph, two DC24 Fort saves (take the lowest), two DC24 Will save if failed, (take the lowest).

Knowledge Nature: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (6) + 16 = 22 Irritated by the attack more than fearful, Curnach threw a fireball into the tent while clutching one of his magical rods. The cascading fireball filled the tent with fire but darted around his allies. Fireball Damage: 11d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 5, 6, 1, 3, 1, 1, 6, 2, 2) = 34 Reflex save DC23 for half damage.

Irritated by the task, Curnach fed the others from his stash of goodberries. Utterly disdaining Sial's help, once his totem had been placed within the circular depression he used a Wall of Stone spell to create detachable stone supports for the totems and offered the same to his companions while doing so. He spent the time meditating, pondering, relaxing and sleeping between the moments when the totems needed to be moved to differing locations. At the end of the trial, he used Transmute Rock to Mud in order to remove and destroy his supports. I'll need a chance to re-prepare spells this evening after work.

Curnach stood stoically at Jerin's shoulder, meeting the glares of the Shoanti warriors fearlessly as he held aloft the squirrel; as much a warning as a showcasing. The squirrel should not be able to transmute back into its original form without a spell?

Curnach's answer was no less blunt. They are allies of circumstance; and not choice. They seek to bring down the Queen of Korvosa as well... but for their own reasons and motives. I do not trust them. I will see them purged from Varisia and sent on their way, or destroyed.

I disagree. You fulfilled their trial and they will not doubt the word of their Truthspeaker. A truly spectacular trial for a spectacular prospective Shoanti. Leaning closer, Curnach said in a quieter tone. With some Shoanti seeking to attack Korvosa... This feat will give them pause. It was good to assert our utter dominance over this fearsome beast. The Truthspeaker need not know it was I who transmuted it; take the credit should it help your case.

... don't remember asking for a vote on this? Its more to use against the Queen's army or as a backup contingency. Not to throw against the queen herself. Incidentally, DM you may want to look up the word consecutive- Krenn needs to make three checks in a row. When i'm not travelling i'll look into how Curnach would help him make that third save though.

Do not harm it! a somewhat singed Curnach bellowed, as he flew down and carefully scooped up the squirrel before it got very far. DM can you roll the will saves to see if its personality is preserved? Might be important. Still at DC24.

Round 3 Action- Impressed by the resilience of the worm, Curnach still refused to abandon his plan. He had prepared a marginally less powerful spell of the same transmutation and he unleashed this upon Cindermaw as well. Same as before, but DC24. Two saves.

A nice plan Jerin. Theres no need for anyone to be on the ground when you summon the horses though... I'll see to it. Casting- Air Walk, Mass on Curnach, Krenn and Llyra Thus, we will be above the galloping horses being used as a trap. Curnach intends to be forty feet above ground.
Curnach clutched his most powerful magical rod, preparing the attempt to turn Cindermaw into a goat. Got a DC25 Heightened Persistent Baleful Polymorph raring to go ;).

As soon as time permits, Curnach will cast Reincarnate on Krenn's body. He will do this in solitude, not entirely comfortable using the powerful magic with others close by. As Krenn's soul entered the newly created Half-Orc's body, Curnach was there with a soothing voice to welcome him back to the world of the living. I know your condition must be a shock Krenn... But you are still needed in the struggle. I am sure your not ready to lay down arms just yet?

Jerin is right. Everybody out- now. Curnach will not go with Jerin's teleport. His action will be to use a Stone Shape spell to create as much of a barrier between him and his allies and the tentacles as possible, and then begin to leave. He can shape up to twenty cubic feet of existing stone which should be more than sufficient. |
