If you liked old fashioned dungeon crawlers (Dungeon Master, Lands of Lore, Eye of the Beholder) then you have to take a look at this little gem.

Legend of Grimrock

It's a very fun (and pretty hard) game. I'm having a blast.

Can you apply a metamagic feat on a bloddline power by spending spell slot (in this case a first level slot because of the +1 level adjustment)? I'm asking the question because I find this combo very tempting:

Pathfinder SRD wrote:

From the Sage Sorcerer Archetype (UM) : Arcane Bolt (Sp): Starting at 1st level, you can unleash a ray of magic force as a standard action, targeting any foe within 30 feet as a ranged touch attack. This ray deals 1d4 points of damage + 1 for every two sorcerer levels you possess. This damage is treated as a spell of a level equal to half your sorcerer level, and is a force effect. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Charisma modifier. This bloodline power replaces arcane bond.

Also from UM : Toppling Spell (Metamagic)
Your spells with the force descriptor knock the affected creatures prone.
Benefit: The impact of your force spell is strong enough to knock the target prone. If the target takes damage, fails its saving throw, or is moved by your force spell, make a trip check against the target, using your caster level plus your casting ability score bonus (Wisdom for clerics, Intelligence for wizards, and so on). This does not provoke an attack of opportunity. If the check fails, the target cannot attempt to trip you or the force effect in response.
A toppling spell only affects spells with the force descriptor. A toppling spell uses up a spell slot one level higher than the spell's actual level.

I'm not sure if you could combine those by spending a first level slot for the metamagic. I know a Spellike ability is not a spell, but it says in the description it is treated as a spell.

I dont find this overpowered, and would allow it at my table, but I wanted to gather some though about this one before letting it fly.

So, the Oracle's lame curse reduces your speed by 10, but a one level dip in Barbarian augment it by the same, and at level 5 oracle, you are immunised to fatigue, meaning you get to rage and end rage at will without penalties.

Even without considering the Rage Prophet prestige class (you need at least 2 levels in barbarian in order to enter it because you need the clear mind rage power), this seems a pretty cool dip for any oracle.

Am I reading this well? Seems too good to be true, so I'm searching for the catch.

If I am indeed reading this well, any ideas for a build?

Hi,

I always liked the curse song you could take as a feat in Neverwinter Night 2 (yes, the computer game) :

From NWN2Wiki wrote:

Curse Song

Type of Feat: General

Prerequisite: Bard 1, Perform 3

Specifics: Bards are able to sing a song that can curse their enemies. Deafened creatures are not affected by the bard's singing. The song affects all enemies within 30 feet and lasts for 10 rounds. The higher the bard's final Perform skill and class level, the more powerful the Curse song. All of the penalties listed are additive.

* 3 Perform and Bard Level 1: -1 to Attack and Damage rolls.
* 6 Perform and Bard Level 2: -1 to Will Saves.
* 9 Perform and Bard Level 3: -1 to Damage rolls and -1 to Fortitude Saves.
* 12 Perform and Bard Level 6: -1 to Reflex saves, -1 to Skill rolls.
* 15 Perform and Bard Level 8: -1 to Attack rolls, 8 damage.
* 18 Perform and Bard Level 12: -2 to Dodge Armor Class, -1 to Skill rolls.
* 21 Perform and Bard Level 14: -1 to Damage rolls, 8 damage and -1 Dodge Armor Class.
* 24 Perform and Bard Level 15: -1 Will Saves, -1 Reflex Saves, -1 Fortitude Saves, -1 Dodge Armor Class and -1 to Skill rolls.
* 30 Perform and Bard Level 16: -1 Will Saves, 4 damage. -1 Dodge Armor Class and -1 to Skill rolls.

For each additional 5 Perform and 1 Class level in Bard an additional 2 damage and -1 to skill rolls is granted.

Nasty

I like the idea a bard can use his music not only to buff his party, but to sap the moral of the ennemy, but I fear this one is too powerfull as it is. I also like the scaling.

Any help/idea on how to adapt this to PFRPG would be welcome.

P.114 - Combat casting feat - "+4 bonus on spellcraft checks for defensive casting"
P.203 - "Distracting Spellcasters:If you damage the spellcaster, she may lose the spell she was trying to cast (as determined by her spellcraft check result).

But there is no mention of concentration checks in the spellcraft skill description, nor does the combat casting feat description mention spellcraft, and on pages 206-207 it's stated that concentration checks are d20 + caster level + relevant ability modifier...

So, caster level or spellcraft?
