Two of the non-nauseated cultists cast concealing mist to conceal the veil, then move toward the ramp....

The other cultists not affected by the veil dash up the ramp and inside the green crystal fortress, screaming and shouting in German: Help! We are under attack! and the like....

Dr Jones' mythic chain lightning rips through the pushing, shoving, screaming mob as they try to get past vomiting, staggering cultists and monsters to reach the crystal fortress....

Reflex save vs DC 14 fireball 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 fails, setting off a chain reaction of explosions as the remaining beads on the nearer cultists' necklace detonate in an inferno of lethal fireballs that incinerate the entangled Morays and priestesses alike!

Reflex save vs DC 14 fireball 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23 succeeds against Radsworth's bead, but is consumed in the flames of her compatriots' exploding necklace!


The nearer cultist drops her dagger and struggles against the black tentacles in an attempt to obey Marcus' command....

CMB check to escape tentacles 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 fails....she struggles feebly and vainly against the uncanny strength of the conjured tentacles!

The far cultist attempts as well....1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10....also to no avail!

The cultists duck back into their offices, but are still singed by flames that burst through the doorway, taking 7 fire damage each....


The cultists shriek in alarm as black tentacles of magic slither and coil around their limbs and torsos, gripping them tightly!


The two cultists move into the doorways of the offices and peer out, detaching and hurling the largest spheres from their necklaces at the Fierce Ones! The orbs arc over Derrik and MJ, landing 10 feet behind them to catch all of the Fierce Ones in their blast radius....

Fireball #1: 8d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 1, 6, 5, 3, 6, 4) = 31 fire damage, Ref DC 14 for half....

Fireball #2: 8d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 4, 2, 1, 2, 6, 6) = 23 fire damage, Ref DC 14 for half....


Peering into the office, Clean beholds a statuesque red-haired woman of cold beauty, clad in black robes with a necklace of brass spheres around her neck, drawing a potion from a bandolier and uncorking it, quaffing its contents hastily....

She gasps in alarm at the sight of the gun-toting svirfneblin in the doorway....


The cultists unstop and drink another potion, still remaining out of sight in the two offices east of the Devil Ray's office....


Now the sounds of two priestesses guzzling potions might be detected from nearby offices to the east.... Perception DC 20 detects this subtle sound from the nearer office, or DC 21 from the next one down....

As free actions, they shout (between gulps of potions): To arms! To arms! Enemies are upon us!


Initiative 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12


The flames from the wall of fire detonate all of the beads on the two priestesses' necklaces of fireballs! An intense conflagration roars down the hall.... The backdraft roars overhead, narrowly missing the top of Koran's head, as all the FOs are on the stairs below the blast.... But the priestesses, the Morays, and all but three of the ghuls are incinerated in the volcano-like heat!


The priestesses see the bead streak into their midst and scream in terror!

Reflex DC 14 vs fireball 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 succeeds....she shields her necklace from the blast, and takes 8 fire damage....

Reflex DC 14 vs fireball 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19 succeeds....she shields her necklace from the blast and takes 8 fire damage....


The priestesses continue to drink potions....


Both cultists pull out and drink another potion....


After Yingzen and the Morays:

The cultists all retrieve and drink potions of bark skin....

A look of hopeless dejection in the face of inescapable doom settles over the cultist, and she almost grins with relief as she begins to spill the beans about The Silver Tower....


You cannot hope to fathom the motives of Dread Cthulhu, Tengu.... If destruction were My Lord's goal, we would not be here to discuss the fact.... He seeks not to destroy this pitiful world, but to remake it! You....you fear only because you do not understand.... Remove my bonds.... Join us.... Bluff check 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (3) + 17 = 20 not quite so convincing as her last....


The priestess gasps and blinks back tears after Yingzen backhands her across the face.... Not a typical catatonic response....

Derrik or another PC can now attempt a Diplomacy ("good cop") or an Intimidate ("badder cop") check against the priestess to get her talking, with a +2 circumstance bonus thanks to Yingzen's "bad cop" warm-up....


Once her wrists and ankles have been bound, the cultist seems to become catatonic....

Bluff check to appear catatonic and incapable of answering questions 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (9) + 17 = 26 is pretty damned convincing....fetal position, thousand-yard stare, the whole nine yards....


The cultist struggles mentally against the enchantment that holds her still....

Will save vs DC 18 hold person 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16 fails.... She remains paralyzed by Kailin's spell!

Koran strikes the priestess dead by hurling Mjolnir at her!


Mjolnir cuffs the priestess on her shoulder and wheels back up into Koran's hand with a clap of thunder!


Reflex save vs Radsworth's DC 17 intensified burning hands 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24 succeeds.... She screams as the flames singe her black robes and hair for 9 fire damage!


Perception 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

The priestess shrieks as the blast from Rad's hurled fireball bead blisters her for 26 fire damage!


Reacting quickly, the Cthulhu cult priestess pulls a scroll out of a tube at her belt and casts fireball, centering it 20 ft outside the office door, so it catches all of The FOs in its blast!

Fireball deals 8d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 1, 2, 3, 3, 4, 3) = 21 fire damage to all of the PCs caught in its 20-ft-radius blast; DC 14 Reflex for half damage....


Initiative 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27


The wounded priestess staggers back 5 ft from MJ, pulls a scroll out of her robe sleeve, and casts lightning bolt to catch MJ and Derrik in its path....

Lightning bolt on MJ and Derrik deals 8d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 5, 2, 4, 2, 2, 1) = 20 electricity damage, DC 14 Reflex for half....

In the office in the SE corner of level 2, a Cthulhu cult priestess drinks a potion of Mage armor....


Before Mikey Jay (or possibly Yingzen, Kepler, or Koran, who all go before MJ) renders her incapacitated with a single blow, the cultist in the east office doorway gasps in shock when she sees Derrik seemingly slash at empty air, only to cut down her sister-cultist, and gasps again when Daisy renders them both visible....

She steps back into the office, pulls out and uncorks a potion of bark skin, and hastily quaffs it, right before MJ charges her and cuts her open from sternum to navel! She screams! (Or Koran clobbers her with Mjolnir, or Kepler mauls her, or Yingzen slices her up with his Elven blade, or all three....)


Before Daisy rendered the cultists visible, Derrik strides up and scissor-slashes the cultist standing in the western office doorway, dealing a total of 52 damage with Dawnbringer and Excalibur! She shrieks and staggers back from the twin cuts, bleeding profusely, turning a ghostly white, and finally falling to the floor, unconscious and dying....


Both cultists drink potions of Mage armor....


Two cultists cast invisibility on themselves in offices flanking the front doors before stepping out into the lobby....


Perception vs DC 15 to notice The FOs and that the chimera is dead....1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
