I run a number of games both online and offline and it's absolutely possible. Play by post games are almost built on that concept. I will say outright that visual aides are nice, just as props are with in person games. They're just easier to do online so most people use them; however, this does not make them a requirement.

As far as any advice on the subject goes, describing it online is going to be very similar to describing it in person with the obvious exception of body language, so you lose out on the ability to gesture.

There's a site called The Alexandrian that does a great job on going over Game Mastering tips and trick, and while that site is my personal favorite, there are many other great table top resources like that.

Another good thing to look into is the style of presentation for the narration of audio books, or the narrator's role in radio plays.

As far as using hand drawn maps, as long as you're clear on your markings of walls, doors, etc. anything should work fine, even just basic line drawings.

Invulnerable Rager (Advance Player's Guide) barbarian might also be a good choice. I believe IR is considered better than Armored Hulk, but it doesn't have heavy armor if heavy armor is a significant point. Any barbarian tends to be a stronger damage dealer and skill choice than fighter, unfortunately.

I'd favor Str, Con, then Dex, in that order. If you want to trip/disarm Int needs to be 13 unless you have access to Dirty Fighting from the Dirty Tactics Toolbox, which lets you bypass the stat and feat requirement.

Bull Rush and Overrun tend to be overlooked combat maneuvers, but can be very potent if used well, and the pre-req feat those trees require is Power Attack, which I'd get anyway. Sunder tends to be iffy (you can choose to leave items at just the broken condition, leaving the user with the broken debuff), but getting the Spell Sunder Rage Power makes it a potent option, even if it's only once per rage.

On Gaia’s Embrace on page 6 (8 of the pdf) it reads "As a swift action, the master of forms slips into such a state of mind. He gains DR 3/and fast healing 1.[...]In addition, if the master of forms has at least 1 focus, he may perform the bound to the earth form as a swift action, albeit at a focus change of -1."

Is that a typo, or should it say swift action both times and I'm misunderstanding something?

The section that follows it mentions him being able to use it even if you've used a form, but it's unclear if it's just if you "spend" one focus, or if that's always true of this ability.

Unfortunately it doesn't use the vehicle rules, it seems like that functions more according to the monster rules.

I was wondering if there were any rules or ideas people had on rules for submarines and underwater siege weapons/vehicles. I have a gearhead (3pp Pure Steam Campaign, it's like a mundane arcanist) player who wanted to build one (I house-ruled vehicle creation as an item creation feat) and just on the fly threw together something based on the steam wagon(PSC again) and a boat with a couple of light ballista substituted for harpoon missiles.

Searching around I couldn't find anything, so I was wondering if anyone here had any ideas.

Hell's Rebels Part 3:
They're headed down into the eye and wanted to design a deep sea vehicle to help with the pressure, and they really didn't want to deal with underwater combat again since they don't have traditional casters, and no one with divine other than a paladin 4/swashbuckler 3

Mostly the question is: Are critical hit considered precision damage, and therefore subject to the same rules?

The question came up when reading the Shadow Strike feat in the APG.

Do they stack? Both seem like concealment bonuses so I would think, NO, but...what say ye?

Shadow Blending says it gives the creature concealment, so no, they do not stack.
