Thanks for the opportunity. I can't wait to hear your choice.

Any other feats etc. that the concept relies on that are non-core or APG that you can thing of at this time?

No. And thanks for asking.

But if "Ammo Drop" is not acceptable to the GM (and I really hope it is), I can take the racial Warslinger trait from APG and replace Ammo Drop with Point Blank Shot. I would lose the "sure-footed" ability ...but that's not the end of the world.

"Groundskeeper" was his job with the the notable Church of Pharasma in Grayce - a township in Ustalav near the Lastwall border. Its purely a fluff designation - it has nothing to do with his Class abilities - other than reinforcing his "rangerliness".

I just realized that my halfling slinger concept might involve some "non-core source material" (Halflings of Golarion), although the feats are all as easy to reference on the PFSRD website as anything else, and they do not imbalance the game or anything. I don't think the slingstaff would be nearly as fun without some feats to make it work well for halflings....and a bow-wielding halfling ranger just doesn't seem as interesting to me - despite the fact that he would be mechanically very similar.

I hope you can accept the halfling ranger with that in mind. Thanks.

Even the Urban Ranger archetype is from the APG. But I can easily make him a traditional Ranger and use core traits to "Rogueify" him. I have no problem with that - but Urban Ranger just fits a little better.

Here is a link to his "Ammo Drop" Feat

Halfling Urban Ranger - Tarco Tosscobble's profile is up, even if not quite finiShed. Please have a look!

ABOUT THE PLAYER:

1: What will you add to the party?
I love to role play. I learned from improv that you never say no. You have to roll with what happens to keep things moving. Mechanics are important, rules are important - but the show must go on. Its the story telling that I love. I am open minded about how the game should be played. I'm easy to play with. - I think.

2: How do you see your character developing both in terms of mechanics and in role play?
I always wanted to play a halfling slinger and explore what I can do with a sling staff. This party has a melee paladin as well as the powers and skills of the bard and alchemist. Tarco will provide skirmishing ability, sneaking skills and - I hope - a devastating range attack.

3: Do you feel able to commit to attempting the entire AP?
Yes. I have been frequenting RP boards like this for years. I have learned how to pace myself. Sometimes real life interferes, but I make arrangements ahead of time and stay in touch. I wish the action would move faster...but that's how it is with PbP. We just have to keep rolling.

4: Is there anything you want to ask us?
Not really. Let's play!

ABOUT THE CHARACTER:

A: What is your connection to the Lorrimer family?
"I grew up as a vagabond in a Varisian caravan among a gang of Scarzni outlaws. Many halflings, humans and other odd folk were among us. We lived on the outskirts of towns, living from the spoils of thievery and burglary. Oh we were all scoundrels and fighters. But it was survival. It was not always enough to sneak and flee...sometimes you had to fight too - and it was with these cut-throats that I learned to wield this here sword and how to fire this slingstaff . One grey night we were near the Lastwall border and we had found shelter in a ruin by an ancient mound. A cold fog rolled in and we were set upon by a horde of ghouls and other wicked undead filth. We were overrun. I saw my mates torn apart and eaten alive! I got away by flinging myself into the river and fleeing through the night to the nearby town of Grayce. I was Infected with a terrible wound - Ghoul Fever. The local Priestess Mabeth found me at her doorstep and took me in. They healed me as best they can....but you have to understand - you never really heal from something like that. My life has never been the same - sometimes I awake in my dreams as one of them monsters - feeding on the flesh of my brothers!

I pledged to server the Church of Pharasma in Grayce. They have a large landhold in those parts. I patrolled it as a warden, keeping the grounds and the temple quarter - hunting undead wherever I could find it. It was around this time that Professor Lorrimer came. He occasionaly visited the Abbey in Gracye for extended periods of time. Oh he knew so much about undead lore and shared it with us. I was aleays eager to learn and spent many hours late at night listening to his stories. It has been a few years since he last came.

Recently the Old Priestess Mabeth came to me and spoke of a dream and summmons from her God. "Something terrible is afoot in Ravengro" she told me. "Seek out Pertros Lorrimor and assist him however you can". She provided me with a rich sum with which to equip myself andI set out with the next wagon train.

B: Why did you miss the funeral?
"I didn't even know that the Professor had died until I came, but I found out pretty quickly upon arrival. I am here now to find out what happened to him, and what kind of trouble is afoot in Ravengro."

C: Why are you currently in or very near the local church to Pharasma?
"I am a servant of Pharasma. The Church is the first place I sought in this town."

D: Why do you care what happens to a tiny hamlet in the middle of nowhere?
"Priestess Mabeth sent me here to seek Lorrimor and assist with whatever might be haunting Ravengro. It is my duty. And if there is anything unholy threatening this place I will fight it!"

E: What are you afraid of?
"Do I have to recall my worst nightmares again?"

I have been playing with the numbers on my Cavalier's profile, but the idea is the same and his stats and gear will all be adjusted correctly if he is selected. Essentially he will look like this for the prupose of this compaign:

Essential Concept:

Halfling Luring Cavalier / Slingstaff Ace
War pony as a mount.
A rustler/brigand maverick seeking his fortune in the Stolen Lands - and avoiding the scrutiny of the local law enforcement in Brevoy.
Traits, Brigand, Strong Arm Supple Wrist
Feat: Mounted Combat
Alignment: Chaotic sort of good.
15 pt buy : 13 16 12 08 10 15

Well I am statting up my halfling with a 25 point buy. That's alot of points and he is quite a bit more powerful than he was before.

I took the Brigand feat from the AP Players Guide (it seemed like the most suitable for his character type). The trait gives him an extre 100 gp in "ill gotten gains". So I purchased a pile of great armour for him. I hope that all works.

Click on the profile to see a submission I created in the hopes of joining a Kingmaker campaign earlier. He's a little halfling maverick with a smoking hot slingshot who is heading for the Stolen Lands to avoid the authorities in Brevoy. He is suspected of livesotck rustling. He is built with a 15 point buy using the "Brigand" campaign trait. I can easily adjust his stats as needed.

His alignment is a little up in the air. He's Chaotic Goodish but he is no angel.

Order of the cockatrice.

I made Howa a cavalier instead. The class just matched his character more closely. Order of the Cockatrice.

I never had a chance to play Kingmaker, but would love to now! Here is a halfling fighter I put together just for that AP. He's a brash and arrogant little firecracker of a bumpkin with a blistering sling shot. He rides like he was born on the saddle. His profile is ready for viewing.

HOWA HIDEBOTTOM:

A shepherd by trade. He is the illegitimate son of a stable hand and scullery maid.

A suspected rustler. Authorities lacked the evidence to convince the townsfolk of his guilt. Rather than hanging him, they decided to send him out to the Stolen Lands to be rid of the nuisance.

He is a lithe and athletic little halfling tough guy with bowed legs, leathery-tanned skin and a huge globe of curly brown hair with beefy sideburns.

Traits: Pioneer (comes with pony) and Armour Expert (keeps leather oiled).
Skills: Not much (a fighter), riding, animals, survival.
Fighting style: Ride like the wind. Kapow! Slingshot.
