Dang it. So Close...If you weren't four levels higher I'd take you out so I'd be selected :-)

Have fun guys!!!

"Thank you Ms. Finch". "My head feels much better". "If you don't mind I think I'll take a walk". "Can I pick you up anything while I'm out". Cody gabbed his hat to help cover up the bandage on his head, and headed out of the house. There was a slight chill in the air, and he shivered a bit without his long coat. Walking down the dirt road, he turned at the alley, and walked to the end where his horse was stabled.

"Hi boy". "I know you need some exercise". "Maybe within a day or two, I'll be able to take you for a run". Cody continued walking down the main street, smiling and nodding at stranger and acquaintance alike. As he continued his walk, he could see a crowd gathering in front of the common building, and the city elders addressing a group of gathered citizens.

As several hands went up in the crowd, Cody turned to an older man standing next to him. "So what's this all about"? After hearing the explanation, Cody knew it was time to repay the kindness that the town had offered freely to him. "Pick me". "I would repay your generosity during my recovery with the service of my armor and weapons". He almost jumped up and down with excitement hoping to hear his name called, and casually looking around to check for potential allies or competitors.

I think Cody has been updated appropriately. He will begin as a Warrior, and soon multi-class into fighter. (Pole Arm Expert)

I've got this cool Polearm fighter. I'd like to see if he fits somewhere. I'll re-adjust tonight, and consider starting as a warrior instead. I like simple man becomes hero type games, and literature. He was made for a Ptolus campaign, but I can adjust the background if chosen.

Thanks. I am planning a 'back to basics' take on Return to the Keep on the Borderlands'. The rules will not be Pathfinder or 3rd ed, but Swords and Wizadry. (Its a version of AD&D but simplified so its ideal for a PBP. The rules are also available as a free download.)

Sounds like fun. I've been thinking about running a retro game in real life. Tired of all the tactics and conditions.... I'll keep my eyes open.

Is this game over?

Male Human Warrior 1

Hey everybody. I'll be on a 9-day business trip starting this afternoon, so posting will be spotty. Still should be able to post every day, but feel free to NPC my character to move things along.

Male Human Warrior 1

I guess I'm a little confused with all the different story arc's and things going on all at once (Much like Cody would be). Could I get a quick summary of everything that is going on right now, and maybe a time frame. Sorry I'll try to keep up better in the future

Lainadan was observing all the chatter in front of him, where acquaintances and decisions were being made. Seemed like all these youngsters were actually looking for trouble... well, a quest.

Suddenly, Lainadan wanted to experience that sense of unexpected adventure again, like the times he often roamed the nearby wild... He knew another gardener or two that could take over his shifts (as he sometimes did for them when they were ill or absent). So he spoke up: Cody and Sev, I'm Lainadan Raelin. I think I'll be joining Hissarion, Valoria and you on that mission you're about to discuss."

"Wonderful! Missing uncle it is! So, where did your uncle go missing?"

Cody, thankful at the responses he was receiving, joined the others at the table. "Well the rumors have it that he was heading towards Giants Staircase and into the Eternity Cave". "He's been missing a long time, but I'm sure he's still alive somewhere". "I just want to help him like he's always helped me". He then signals for a barmaid. "Large glass of milk please".

Male Human Warrior 1

"Well actually he's been missing...everyone can see Cody struggling with the numbers in his head, and quietly moving his fingers in a counting motion..."Well several years". "But I think he's still alive". "He was a very brave man, and a member of the Knights of the Gold Crown". "I just want to find him, or find out what happened to him". "I've been able to trace him down to this place, which apparently used to be a favored watering hole of the Knights".

"Hey Friend". "I'm looking for Wynn Rabnall". "Is he here"?

"Wynn...nah, he aint been in for a few weeks now. Last I heard he was heading below..."

You don't see any visible members of the Knights although there is an imposing individual in armour sat at a table with two others individuals, deep in conversation.

Cody approaches the people in conversation, and waits for a lull in the conversation before interrupting... "Excuse me". "My name is Cody, and I notice by your armor that you are a warrior of some sort". Cody admires the mans craftsmanship on his armor. I was looking for some Knights of the Gold Crown, but don't see any". "Do you know of any of them". "I need them to help me find my Uncle who's lost somewhere below" .

Sense Motive DC10

Spoiler:

Cody may seem very naive and simple, but that's only because he is. He doesn't have much grasp of timing, and could never read the board. Reading makes his head hurt.

Cody turns the scrap of paper with the directions to the Black Swan mapped out on it. I think this is where the 'X' is . He then blunders in the door of the noisy place, turning slightly sideways, as he normally has to do to get his broad shoulders through a doorway. (Though this one is plenty wide...it's habit).

As he enters he literally has to step around the entrance sign with the Black Swan written, and a life size picture of a Black Swan on it to enter the tavern.

He stops the first person at the door as he enters. "Is this place the Black Swan"

I believe Cody is ready to rumble!!! Sorry about the delay.

Slight change in starting set up. You will all be already located in Ptolus. I will be posting seperate starting situations for each player a bit later tonight.

I have been re reading your back grounds and I am impressed! I'll try and tie these together if I can.

sorry about that. I forgot I hadn't expanded it. I'll get to it in the morning first thing

Sorry. Lost track... Here.

Good Rolling PWO. You doubled my point value :-).

Here is the beginning of Cody. He's good at melee,and...well he's good at melee.

OK I'm thinking Human Fighter. Uncle was member of Knights of the Golden Cross, who disappeared when headed down into the undercity to rescue a group of young nobles. His idea is to find out what happened, and to try to be like his much loved and respected uncle. More to follow, but reserving the melee fighter spot :-)
