My players are about to go into an area that slowly petrifies everything inside it. What sort of monsters and encounters would you suggest? The area drains all energy from things until it turns to stone. I know cockatrice are immune, as are basilisks, but I'm having troubles finding other things that might live in an area like that, that wouldn't be also turned to stone. Other than earth elementals. Any suggestions?
Edit: I forgot to mention a few things. They're lvl 14, gestalt, and psionics and tech are available.

Here's the situation, players and crew are sailing through the seas on a beautiful tropical day, when they notice the inky blackness on the horizon... A storm is coming. A big one. They're expecting a battle, and have taken precautions but the storm is an added hiccup they weren't expecting. Soon after the storm hits, in the flash of the lightning they see them... Viking raiders in their longships. Soon they hear the raiders singing, striking fear into the hearts of their crew.
Due to the storm even seeing the enemy is difficult, nevermind for long enough to fire the ships weapons at them. Then the tropical storm, with its gale force winds gets worse... The temperature drops and ice begins to form... Rain becomes sleet and hail, everything gets slick with ice, and above it all they can hear the shops closing in, their raiding songs seemingly coming from everywhere... And nowhere. They're outnumbered, and they have one chance. A cove they spotted earlier would give them the advantage, but to get to it they have to navigate an unknown reef in the storm... And the aquatic predators have come out already, waiting for someone to fall in and become their latest snack.
So with the above scene in mind, what songs do you suggest having me playing in the background? So far I've added the black sails theme, Vikings theme, machinehead's beneath the silt, call of kthulu by metallica, and possibly ride the lightning. What else should I add to the play list?

So I'm throwing an npc based off riddick into my campaign, and I'm wanting suggestions for how to build him. It's a mythic gestalt campaign, and he'll probably be around lvl 12-15. I was thinking brawler/slayer. Anyone have better suggestions? And what would you build him?

After putting so much effort into finding mass combat rules that work, I just stumbled onto the troop subtype. It's perfect for my needs, but I need help turning the enemies into troops. I've got individual ones made up, but need help turning them into troops. If I post Tue individual characters up would someone give me a hand adding the subtype? There'll be a few, but once I understand how to do it I don't think it'll be too difficult to do the rest. Anyone game?

I'm going to be running some mass combat soon, and I'm wondering if it's better to run multiple smaller groups, or fewer large ones.

If someone is within an antipaladin's aura of cowardice radius do they take a penalty against intimidate checks? ie. their CMD is normally 20, is it now 16, or does it only work against things with saves?

If you have the path ability that treats you as always focused, and you have mythic psionic shot (or one of its equivalents) and mythic psionic attack, do you get the +2 as well as the 4d6 per attack?

There doesn't seem to be any powers to do so on the dread list, they don't heal naturally, and repairing it via normal construct rules is costly. It requires a feat and is expensive. So how does he do it?

If you have multiple collectives going at once do they overlap or stack?

Looking at these 2 feats, it seems Shared power is Network power+

Am I missing something? What possible reason would you have to take network power instead of Shared power? I'm just not seeing it.

I've gotten a new player who wants her slayer to have an animal companion. I originally was going to just give her a trained dog, but they die if you look at them funny at the lvl they're at (8). I know 3.5 had Wild Cohort (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/re/20031118a) but I haven't found anything similar for pathfinder.
She's playing a Deliverer Archtype Slayer, lvl 8. Suggestions?

I can't remember what it's called, but I remember something that allowed you to pull a hidden weapon and get double sneak attack from it. or double damage..? Anyone know what it's called? I've been searching but can't find it. Help would be appreciated.

PC's raided a nest recently and took all the eggs. Before it comes up I'd like to have a GP value on it for them. I've looked and can't find anything similar anywhere. And no, they aren't hatching and raising them. ...they're doing that with the mythic ones they found :/

He'll be a gestalt npc who works alone. I was originally thinking slayer/vigilante or inquisitor. He'll be lvl 9 or 10. Suggestions?

My party has recently found an abandoned town and discovered that the local caves have mithril in it. I've been looking for the costs of such things and found bubkis. How much would it cost to buy the Territory off the lord/government, or at least the mining right? It's a smallish town with docking facilities, and has been abandoned for years. They've cleared the area of monsters, and the town is frequently used by smugglers and pirates in the area, so them taking over and fortifying the town would be good for the area. I'm half tempted to just have the local lord offer it to them in return for a task he needs doing, but they're in a hurry (current quest is time sensitive) so might just opt to buy it. I'd prefer to be prepared for that. Anyone know a solution to my dilemma, or at least a direction I can look?

I know there's the averting your gaze or blinding yourself, but what are some other ways? In the case of a basilisk could you blind them to stop them using it? And what happens if you can see them but they can't see you? Ie. Fog cutter goggles and smoke?

If there is I can't find it, and I'm about to introduce an npc crafter that if there's something like it he'll have. Specifically Craft ship. Can someone point me in the right direction?

I was just re-reading the rules for drow poison, and realized it said unconsciousness not sleep. Does that mean elves aren't immune?

My party just hijacked a ship, and they've recruited their crew already but I haven't actually created said crew. Due to their TYPICAL frigging luck they did amazingly well on their rolls for recruits. So I've got their weapons crew already handled as siege gunner gunslingers, but the rest of the crew I still need to take care of. There’s going to be a few rogues and swashbucklers obviously, but what other classes would do best? There's a few humans, half-elfs, elves and a dwarf or 2 if race matters. I just don't want them to ALL be swashbucklers or rogues. There's also a cleric and wizard.

My players are about to do some travel via ship so I've been going over the rules, and they seem a bit off. A sailing ship moves slower than a warship? And a galley is apparently the fastest ship ever? With that in mind I did some math and got even more confused. A ship that has a movement speed of 90, and let's assume that 90 is its max per round, should he doing approximately 10.2 miles an hour. And according to the overland movement rates that sailing ship goes 24 hours a day. Yet it moves 2.5 miles an hour, and 48 miles a day? Can someone explain this to me?

What would the boost to their cr be? If I added it as a mythic monster ability would you count it as 1 or 2 mythic abilities? Say MR x 2? Or do you think that'd be too much?

My players will soon be coming across a secret magical school/library and I want them to have a quest for the party. I was thinking some sort of monster has been drawn by the magical energy swirling about that the party can slay for them. But I'm drawing a blank as to what kind of monster that could be. I'd prefer non-humaniod, but I'll take what I can get. CR can be up to 10 or so. I'd also like it to be mythic, but that's optional. Any suggestions?

Need some suggestions on making it work. I have the character in my mind as a monk/swashbuckler but swashbuckler's mainly use piercing weapons not bludgeoning. I'd hate for an entire npc idea to become ineffective due to something that small. So how do I make him work?

I've always wondered why there are no rules for creating large batches of alchemical items rather than 1 at a time. Does anyone know of rules regarding batch alchemy? Ie. Instead of creating a vial of alchemist fire, making a small cauldron of it, say 10 vials worth. With some things I can see how it would be difficult to do so, but for others I see no reason why not. Am I missing something?

Can a magus use the sharding ability to deliver a touch attack at a distance? it says it functions as the weapon.
Sharding

I've got a player in my campaign who's playing a spellthief, and it just doesn't feel right. I've given him bardic spell progression with the spellthief restrictions, and rogue talents at half the speed of a rogue and it still seems... Underwhelming. I was toying with giving him panache and the basic swashbucklers deeds as it fits his character and kind of fits, but I'm worried it might be too much. Thoughts?

My players are about to go up against the big bad head of a ninja guild. I've got him figured out, but I need help with his bodyguard. I've got him as a flowing monk/sorcerer but need some help tweaking him. I've given him a ki intensifying double chained kama for reach, some anchoring shurikins to keep people in place, combat reflexes to take advantage of AoOs, and agile maneuvers to help control the battlefield. He's lvl 6. Any suggestions? So far nothing's set in stone though. They'll have also just fought a lvl 7 ninja/fighter so I'm hoping to have them low on resources, and Hp.

I have a player who is taking intelligent item and upgradable as 2 of his item abilities. So the question is can he use the upgradeable quality to give his item more of the intelligent item abilities without buying legendary item again? Ie he has bought animate with the first ability he gets, but using upgradeable can he then add the 5 skill ranks for the 5k gp cost?

I have a vitalist joining the party and one of the existing members is a damphir. Does psionic healing have an energy type and so will harm undead and such, or is it untyped?

I was reading mythic adventures and saw that it specifically prohibits brewing of potions using mythic spell casting, but there is an alchemist's formulae list in there. Does that mean that they can brew one of their infusions with a mythic spell? It's the only thing I can think of otherwise it'd be a huge hit to them.

first of all, I'm not sure if this should go into advice or here, so move if it needs to.
Ok, I GM for a group of players, and until recently I generally avoided dungeons as I found no good way to map them out that didn't take longer than needed. Graph paper and descriptions often had them confused, and I couldn't find any other way to hide what they haven't explored with ease. So dungeon crawls and mazes were generally out. But recently I found a REALLY easy way to do it that's fun, cheap, and effective. First you take the map you want to give to the players and laminate it. Then you take some acrylic paint and mix it with dish soap. I use approximately equal parts and it seems to be ok so far. Gently mix them together. I say gently because you don't want bubbles. Now paint over the areas you don't want your players seeing. Once it's dry check to make sure you can't see what's underneath and repeat if necessary. Once it's dry you can just scratch off areas as they're explored like a scratch and win ticket.
I suggest using a color that you don't have on the map itself, so if all your walls and details are done in black, use another color. I'm about to use grey and I'll let you know after it gets used how it works. Using black just made it hard to see as you were exposing the map. As for paint, get yourself one that's used for backgrounds as that way you only need one coat. I redid my map after the first experiment and it took less than 15 minutes to go from mixing colors and soap to waiting for it to dry. Only took about half an hour to dry as well, and it was a cool day. so all up I went from paper map to table ready in under an hour.
Thought I'd share this with the community as I've been finding it really useful and hadn't seen it before.
Anyone else got some useful tips for gms/players?

I'm thinking of giving my players the option of either cleaving as Pathfinder, or the 3.5 version (ie. drop an enemy, get an attack against another). I was thinking you choose which you'll use before the attack, but can other wise switch whenever you want based on the situation. Has anyone done this before? I'm assuming yes, and what was your thoughts on it?

What class would do this best? I'm going to be introducing it into the.campaign I'm running, but wondering how best to do it. It will be mostly npc's with it, but I'd like to make it really mess with them. Suggestions?

I've seen lots of people saying how awesome it is, but how do they manage to get it? I've got some players that would love it and I'd like to throw some human enemies at them that have it so I'm wondering how to go about doing it? Suggestions?

If a wand is created can any class with it on their list cast it? What if it's a lvl 4 spell for one class but your class casts it at lvl 5?
