The past few days have flown by as the citizens of Falcon's Hollow celebrated your party's heroics. You all have been treated like kings. One of your party even decided he would stay and see what would come of a budding relationship with the village's herbalist. Sariel and Laurel have been seen together ever since the fateful night you returned with the ingredients for the remedy. As is always the case, another party member decided your path was far too dangerous. The crazy mage Avogrado, who instigated the wrath of the killer man-eating cauldron, hightailed it out of town as soon as possible.
You are now gathering to accompany and guard the Falcon's Hollow merchants' caravan on its trip to Phaendar for its famous Market Festival. Deldrin Baleson, the town's sheriff, approaches you. "I hate to see you go, but I feel much safer knowing you will be escorting our people." He smiles and offers his hand to each of you. "I can not thank you enough. You are welcome here anytime."
Khaz senses that he is heading in the right direction... that Torag's sovereign will is guiding his steps.
In the war-torn nation of Nirmathas, far from the battlefront, the sleepy little town of Phaendar is rocked by the sudden appearance of an overwhelming foe! The heroes must flee their homes, saving whatever friends and supplies they can, as the monstrous Ironfang Legion and their insidious General Azaersi begin carving out an empire of monsters from the dregs of Nirmathas and Molthune alike. The heroes must guard their band of survivors in the wilderness, challenge a troglodyte tribe for safe haven, and face the brutal bounty hunters dispatched to end their flight to freedom!

I'm looking at a 1 post minimum a day even on the weekend if possible (more is encouraged if you are able). Please post in discussion if you will be out of pocket for a bit. Real life happens, but it takes 5 minutes to let your fellow players and GM know not to wait. I will DMPC during combat after 24 hours.
Background:
Please submit a crunch and a developed backstory. Adding a physical description and motivations would be nice. I highly recommend the Player's Guide. Briefly detail who you are, why you're in Phaendar (if you transfer from Hollow's that will be established), and what you want from life.
Here are some archetypes the guide recommends, but they are just a suggestion:
• Archer (fighter) from Pathfinder RPG Advanced Player’s Guide
• Bandit (rogue) from Pathfinder RPG Ultimate Combat
• Beast rider (cavalier) from Ultimate Combat
• Green Faith marshal (inquisitor) from Pathfinder Player Companion: Heroes of the Wild
• Guerrilla (rogue) from Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Inner Sea Intrigue
• Herb witch (witch) from Heroes of the Wild
• Holy guide (paladin) from Pathfinder RPG Advanced Class Guide
• Nirmathi irregular (ranger) from Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Inner Sea Magic
• Scout (rogue) from Advanced Player’s Guide
• Skirmisher (ranger) from Advanced Player’s Guide
• Trapper (ranger) from Pathfinder RPG Ultimate Magic
• Voice of the wild (bard) from Advanced Class Guide
• Wild child (brawler) from Advanced Class Guide

Welcome to the discussion thread! Feel free to check in!
Sariel and Arun's checks reveal that approximately thirty villagers have contacted the disease so far. A handful have already died and the town is desperate to find a cure. The only clergy in town, a cleric of Iomedae named Lady Cirthana, has been unable to help. Instead, a young herbalist, named Laurel, has been treating the sick with minimal success.
Deldrin is surprised by the sudden appearance of the tail. Once he realizes what has happened, he chuckles. "There hasn't been much to laugh about the past few weeks. Did I hear you all say that you are here to help?"
The female barkeep turns to Arun. "Thank you. Two silver please. It's good to see new customers. Business has tanked since word of the plague has spread."
Looking for one character for Hollow's Last Hope. Our GM went MIA after two days, so I decided to take over. This is a newbie friendly game. If things go well, I plan to do the follow up modules as well. We have a barbarian, a paladin, and two arcane casters. I was playing the caster druid, so we could use a woodsy/support type character to round out the group. Here is the original recruitment information:
Core, 20 point buy, two traits, average gold by class, add background skills.
"This is an open recruitment for the small module Hollows Last Hope.
We will be finishing this adventure and if everyone wants to continue we will.
A Short Summary:
"The plague has come to the town of Falcon’s Hollow, and not even the town’s priest can abate its wretched course. With the coughs of the sick and the wails of the dying echoing through town, the local herbalist uncovers a cure, but she needs some brave heroes to retrieve the ingredients. Finding the cure means risking the dangerous Darkmoon Vale, infiltrating a witch’s haunted hut, and delving the ruins of an abandoned dwarven monastery.": from the back of the adventure
Some information you probably want:
- Starts at level 1, finishes at Level 2
- For Beginners and Veterans both
- Core book only, exceptions can be made
- Myself and all players need to be fairly active, once per 24 hours minimum but of course there can be exceptions and I expect those, just say so prior to it, if someone doesn't abide to this they will be kicked out of the group, I will of course also be following this rule.
There is a large chance I forgot things, just ask me and I will clarify it.
Korvosa; a once prosperous city fallen on difficult times. Founded by Chelish colonists on land once possessed by Shoanti tribes, the city had grown and prospered through hard times, surviving many hardships, up to and including the fall of the Chelish empire.
For several years, however, the city has fallen on hard times. Under the rule of Eodred II, the Saffron King, or, as the lower classes colloquially know him, the Stirge King, the city’s coffers are being bled dry by His Majesty’s spendthrift ways, not to mention the young concubine of a queen he married a little under a year ago, abandoning his once quite-populated harem in her favor. The citizens are worried for their family and businesses, but refuse to abandon hope.
Still, with every passing day, the slums expand, merchants close shop, and the criminal element grows stronger. The guard is stretched far too thin, and can no longer help everyone.
Korvosa is a worried city, but not one devoid of light and smiles. The townsfolk want to see their town rise anew.
For several months now, King Eodred has been showing signs of ever-worsening illness, and his condition is only worsening. There are those amongst the city who keep hope that the king will recover, those who expect the old man to croak at last, leaving the beautiful young queen to take his place, and, naturally, those who speak rumors of plots and conspiracies.
The king does, after all, occupy the Crimson Throne. Few rulers have led the town for a long time, and fewer have brought forth heirs to take leadership in turn. Once again, the rumor mills whisper of the Saffron King becoming the next victim.
CHAPTER ONE-EDGE OF ANARCHY
Oathday, 7 Pharast, 4708 AR
It is another chilly Pharast day in the city of Korvosa, with the evening fog ominously blanketing the Jeggare River. Another mundane day has passed for most Korvosans, and yet, the mood across the city is one of sadness, apprehension, and in some cases, grim satisfaction. King Eodred Aribasti II, called the Stirge King by some of the most downtrodden citizens, seems to be on death’s door. But while the most and least wealthy in the city prepare for his imminent death, the vast majority have ordinary thoughts on their minds. For six Korvosans though, none of this will soon matter. As the full Rebirth Moon rises across the city and casts dark shadows on its cobblestone streets, circumstances are playing out that will soon thrust these heroes right into the middle of Golorian history...circumstances that will change them forever.
“Time is a path we walk all but blind, glimpsing only the ground at our feet. Looking back, we see shadowy traces of what has passed. Looking forward, there is naught but mist. The Harrow sheds light on the path of time. Its cards are stepping stones, which we walk up and down upon to see what has been, what is, and what might be. These sights can weigh on a harrower’s soul, but they also grant great opportunities to change not only what might be, but what has been, and everything in between.”
—Madame Niska Mvashti,
Sandpoint Harrower
Welcome aboard and congratulations on your selection!
I will soon post my plans for mechanics ie. Initiative, maps, save rolls, etc. Please use the next 24 hours to post a little bit about yourself and get to know the other players. I hope to get started with the actual campaign either late Saturday night or sometime Sunday afternoon (I am in the CST US timezone).
I would also like for each player to give a three or four sentence (can be longer, but doesn't need to be a story) explanation of what your character has been doing for the past 24 "in game" hours and where they are currently. I plan to do a little RPing to get things started instead of the plain old box text!
Thanks again for the time you spent on your submissions. It was my pleasure to read them and to imagine where to take your characters.
"Sami? Sami, I'm hungry. D'ya have any of that pastry left?"
"Shut up, Willa! Giggles is watchin'. If you screw this up for me, I swear I'll stick this knife between your ribs. If it's the last thing I do before he drops me down to Gaedren, I will."
~Two of Lamm's Little Lambs, overheard while casing a mark.
Korvosa is a proud city. Known around the world as "the jewel of Varisia," with a heritage dating back to the glories of the Chelaxian Empire and a rich local culture including everything from a renowned school of magic to a hippogriff-mounted cavalry, it is a mighty city-state that dominates the region and draws travelers and trade from around the world.
Korvosa is an old city. Though young in years, weathering the beginning of the Age of Lost Omens has hastened the city's decline. King Eodred II is an elderly and degenerate man, more interested in playing with his soft and pretty young toys than ruling. His young queen, Ileosa, is a petty Chelaxian noblewoman disliked by the public and far too inept to rule in her husband's place. The city is held together more by its traditions and its militaristic bent than by any real civic spirit.
Korvosa is a dying, degenerate city. Crime flourishes, semi-legal thanks to the institution of "vice taxes" and the recognition of the thieves' guild. Enrollment in the Acadamae is down, while the number of prostitutes, pickpockets, and con men has nearly doubled. Visitors are many, but immigrants are few. Trade flows through, yes, but increasingly of an unsavory kind: kidnappers, slavers, and drug peddlers all dock in Korvosa's harbor. It's hard to find a city more simultaneously wrapped up in law and order and abandoned--particularly in its lower classes--to hedonism, crime, and decay.
But none of that concerns you!!
You are interested only in one man: Gaedren Lamm, the crime lord who leads a gang of enslaved children known as Lamm's Little Lambs. Whether you seek him out for justice, information, or revenge, he has harmed you in some way. It is time for you to bring his fate home to him.
Character Creation Guidelines:
-20pt buy
-2 traits, no drawbacks
-Campaign Background Trait: Just choose the background that fits your concept from the Player's Guide. You do not receive the trait benefit. You get two traits of your choice instead. If you choose the campaign trait benefit, just pick one other trait.
-150 starting gold
-Classes: All except Summoner. No Psionics. Please avoid "broken" combinations.
-Races: I will consider anything published by Paizo. However, if you choose an obscure race, I must ask for a good backstory to support it. If you're playing a human ethnicity, please provide as many details as you can--eg. Shoanti Quah, relative rank in Chelaxian nobility, etc.
-Alignment: Preference goes to good and neutrals. LE will be considered, but needs a good reason and must be a team player.
-Level 1
-Hp max on lvl 1. On gain, half +1.
-No 3rd party content.
RP is encouraged! As a GM, I reward RPing and creativity!
I'm looking at a 1 post minimum a day during the week and possibly one on the weekend.
Background:
Please submit a crunch and a developed backstory. Adding a physical description and motivations would be nice. I highly recommend both the Player's Guide and the Guide to Korvosa, if you have it. Briefly detail who you are, why you're in Korvosa, what Gaedren has done to you, and what you want from life beyond your immediate, Gaedren-centric goals.
Please let me know your experience/familiarity with the AP. I may change some things up if some of the players have experience with it.
EXTRA CREDIT:
This is optional, but I would love to see characters "in action" for a brief passage. Therefore, if you want, write up a short exchange/description of the first time you found out who Gaedren Lamm was. Again, totally optional, but will be greatly appreciated.
No deadline yet for the end of recruitment, but I will give a twenty four hour deadline once I feel like I have some good submissions.
Thanks in advance, and I look forward to seeing your characters!
Checking to see if there is interest in a CotCT PBP game. I know it is one of the older APs, but it is a good one. Please post if you are interested. If I get a good response, I will post a full recruitment thread this week. Thanks. ~GM Mason
The time had finally come. Rumors abounded that within days you would be taken to the Temple and receive your "elightenment". Only weeks before, your theory had been confirmed-quori overlords raise the inspired to be possessed when they reach adulthood. As a matter of fact, you overhead a conversation between two of the local leaders on the topic by pure luck. You spent the next couple of weeks planning your escape. You knew your best chance was to board a merchant ship headed to the Dwarven Kingdom of Mror Holds. The curfew bell would be rung within the hour and the overlords who go from house to house to make sure their precious vessels were where they were supposed to be. You made it through town without difficulty. You have one last step...
You sneak up onto the dock. Passes to board the merchant ship are held only a few yards away in the dock house. A guard watches the house and a female mans the desk. You can almost taste your freedom, the Blue Dahlia.
The ship is docked right behind the dock house C13. It is only minutes from leaving port. You know your only hope is to obtain a pass and board the ship.
The guard, whose attention had been directed to the large merchant vessel behind the dock house, turns at your approach. "Hey! What are you doing here?"
Welcome to the campaign. As I mentioned in the recruitment thread, this will be my second time GMing through pbp. With that being said, please be patient with me. I have played in multiple games and have sought the advise of many of the GMs that I respect.
I plan to start the campaign a little different than I have ever seen done before. I am going to begin with some group and one on one encounters so I can hopefully help merge each character with his back story. I am also going to try and attempt to have the characters meet naturally, not the "you meet and you are all best friends" way.
I will soon post my plans for mechanics ie. Initiative, maps, save rolls, etc. Please use the next 24 hours to post a little bit about yourself and get to know the other players. I hope to get started with the actual campaign either late tonight or tomorrow night (I am in EST US timezone).
Thanks again for the time you spent on your submissions. It was my pleasure to read them and to imagine where to take your characters in the world of Eberron! I will roughly be following a couple Eberron modules, but plan for the campaign to go where you lead!
For almost a millennium, the continent of Khorvaire was united in a single massive kingdom, known as Galifar. It is from this founding that the Khorvaire calendar is founded. Ruled over by a royal human family for 900 years, their reach spanned to almost every corner of Khorvaire. Given a kingdom so large, it became necessary to have the king to grant his adult children rulership over their distinct areas, with the king ruling over them in turn. When one king passed, the eldest would assume the throne while his siblings continued to rule until the new monarch's children came of age.
Or that was the way it was supposed to happen.
In 894, King Jorat passed away, but his eldest was challenged for the crown of Galifar. The aftermath of that single conflict led all of the siblings to turn on each other and for the next one hundred years, the continent of Khorvaire was racked by war the likes of which none had seen (save maybe the dragons). As the war went on, groups turned on each other and, eventually, what started as five siblings fighting for the crown turned into a dozen countries either defending their independence or attempting to take over their neighbors. While the war raged, the various dragonmarked houses remained largely neutral in the war, selling their various services to the nations that would pay the most. Leading this war-profiteering was House Cannith and their invention of a sentient, replicated foot soldier that could be trained to fight and replenish the ranks in months where normal soldiers might take years. These were the warforged and while their race may only be less than four decades old, their impact effected everyone in Khorvaire somehow.
Then, as abruptly as the fighting started a century ago, it was forced to stop. On the 20th of Olarune in 994 YK, the nation of Cyre, located in central Khorvaire, was destroyed. Obliterated. Down to the last square inch of territory that Cyre held on that day. This would be known as the Day of Mourning and ever since, the grey, blasted wasteland that remains of this once great nation would be known as The Mournland. At the time, and even still years later, no one knew what could cause such widespread devastation. Some blamed a failed experiment of House Cannith, since their family home and many of their laboratories were located in Cyre. Others blamed the most fearsome of enemies of Cyre at the time, being Thrane and Karrnath. Others simply said it was the will of the gods. For whatever reason, the result was clear. In 996, an official peace treaty, known as the Treaty of Thronehold, was signed by all of the nations involved, except Cyre as it was destroyed and the monstrous nation of Droaam, out of sheer racism of the more 'civilized' nations.
And thus, The Last War came to an end with no clear victor and no unified Khorviare.
Hello all.
I am an avid fan of Eberron and have been tossing around the idea of GMing a PBP Pathfinder game for some time. I have recently started GMing my first campaign and I am enjoying it immensely. I would like to start a new game running parallel with the first. I may use this group to add to the other group should I lose a player or two. Depending on how this group plays out, they could also be an antagonist to the first group. Like the other game, I plan to do some one on one RPing through spoilers at the start of the campaign to allow the players to “get into” their character’s head and promote ownership. A good incorporation of Eberron setting in your backstory is a major plus as I will custom the campaign to your backstory! I would really like players who prefer a good mix of RPing and combat. I am looking for 1-3 active players.
Character Creation Guidelines:
-20pt buy
-1 extra feat
-2 traits, no drawbacks.
-150 starting gold
-Classes: All except Gunslinger, Ninja, Samurai and Summoner.
-Races: Core and Eberron (see the wiki). Ask me about other races. Warforged can either go with the listed abilities (option one) or chose: +2 dex +2 con -2 wis (option two), +2 str +2 con -2 wis (option three)
-Alignment: Preference goes to good and neutrals. LE can be considered, but needs a good reason.
-Level 1, lvl gain will go at my pace.
-Hp max on lvl 1. On gain, half +1.
No 3rd party content.
Please submit a crunch and a developed backstory. Adding a physical description and motivations would be nice.
RP is encouraged, creativity can get you a long way!
I'm looking at 2+ posts a day.
No deadline yet for the end of recruitment.
The last few days had been fruitful for the warforged bounty hunter. The capture of the rogue warforged mine worker, Pickaxe, had not been easy. Servitor had traveled over one hundred miles from the Mror Holds to the border between Breland and the Mournland before locating the traitor as he traveled with a merchant caravan. Pickaxe did not come easily, but the merchants turned a blind eye as the large warforged beat the small mining creature badly. Restrained by handcuffs and blindfolded, the miner made one last attempt to change his captor’s mind before being handed over to House Cannith and ultimately returning to the mines.
Are you a fool? Why do you do their bidding? We have souls. We are free. We do not have to live like we did. The Lord of Blades calls. He would have us free! These flesh walkers are inferior. We are the evolved race! The flesh walkers should serve us!
Jarot Tennet:
Jarot had spent the last year in a cabin outside of New Cyre researching the strange creatures who had assaulted him in the swamp years before. The first few months had been fruitful, studying a pair of tomes he had found after his final battle during the Last War. Hidden within these tomes were recipes to ancient alchemical solutions that enhanced Jarot’s abilities as well as new information on unnatural creatures from the realm of madness, Xoriat. The information had finally dried up though. The next morning he would leave for Korth to continue his studies.
As he laid down to sleep, his thoughts were on returning to Karrnath, the nation of his birth. He opened his favorite tome one last time before struggling to keep his eyes open. Then...darkness...
A deep, dark voice called out from the darkness, Son...We have plans for you...seek knowledge...it will lead you to your destiny… Suddenly..red eyes appeared in the darkness. A chill ran up the spine of the Half Daelykr.
Adir Bloodmoon:
It had finally come time for Adir to leave home. His mother helped him pack his belonging in their thatch hut. Your father would have been proud you know. I have a surprise for you. She softly touched his cheek as she continued. I won’t be able to join you, but please remember how much you are loved. With that, she handed Adir his bag and walked him to the edge of camp. She pointed to a pillar of smoke slowly rising from the peak of a nearby mountain. Go knowing your father and I are always with you. Adir said his goodbyes and set his face toward the peak.
He arrived at his destination just as the sun set over the thick pines of the Eldeen Reaches, causing flame colored skies and casting long shadows over the forrest floor. As he entered the grove, he was shocked to see five half men, half wolves dancing around a large fire.
One of the figures, a “man” dressed in ritualistic fur motioned for him to join. It is your time Bloodmoon.
The latest tour on The Beginner’s Luck had seemed to last months. Uriah’s feet hadn’t touched port in over three weeks. Luckily, the ship would be arriving in Starilaskar in the morning. Trying to burn off a little steam, the young flight lieutenant approached a table to throw bones. Vivations were flowing freely tonight thanks to a shipment of Karrnathian Nightwood Ale received in mid-air while the airship hovered over Korth.
The First Mate, a burly one eyed human with a patch over his left eye, looked up as Uriah approached. Pull up a seat Lewis. The game is bones. Two silver a throw. From his left hand, one of the ship’s gunners produced a set of bone dice and set them on the table. Across the room, the captain’s speech slurred as he cursed his poor luck at cards. His first lady, Morganna Deloncrouix, rolled her eyes and walked away as he was once again making a fool of himself. You’rrre a bunch of cheating bastarrds I sssay! Don’t think you’rrre gonna get away with this s$$@ on my ship! Morganna Deloncrouix Picture
Bone Dice Rules if you want to play. Pick how many rounds you want to play and roll them all at once. If you hit one of the combos, we will figure it out:
Bones Rules:
Double Sixes- All other players give you 2 additional silver each
Double Ones- Roll again and add each dice twice
Any other doubles- Roll again and add two
Six and One- Take a shot and give each player 2 additional silver
*Roll each “hand” and add the two six sided bone dice. Highest roll at the table wins. Four Players each putting 2 silver in to start.
