2 people marked this as a favorite.

my gm just banned more then 1 active summon at a time. really cuts down on on the broken parts of the summoner.

had a 2 weapon fighter with it.. was nice to use cuz most times I kill everything in 5 before I ran out of attacks.. lunge opened up the range of things I could kill. Much better with more attacks.

Ive seen it stated in different places that Aug Summons feat does not effect Eldolons <ritual> and the Daily summon spells <spell like ablity>. Is this true??

also considering the Spirit Summoner archtype cuz our dm does not allow more then one summon active at a time so losing the daily summons isn't huge. anyone played this archtype or have suggestons??

3 people marked this as a favorite.

only 1 summon spell active at a time per caster.

there is an archtype for hunters that gives you eidolon type things for your pet.

I gave my lizardman race.
monstrous humanoid
+2 con
+2 cha or wisdom. not sure which one yet.
bite and claw. upped the bite by one hit die. tieflings can get 1d6 bite so its not unheard of. 1d6 bite 1d4 claws
hold breath
and 2 skill bonus.. still working on what skills.. climb and swim most likely
+1 nat armor.. gives up more nat armor for bite.
all for 13 rp

don't really think this is overpowered. tough yes.

well that should cut down on the time I spend looking though lists. Its for a pirate campaign so im thinking the witch might have more spells with the right flavor. Thanks for responding.

lazarx that's kinda what I was was thinking.

Starting a new game in a few weeks and looking at playing a samsaran wizard. The race ability to steal spells from other arcane lists in interesting. The problem is I don't really have time to dig though all the spell lists looking for good or useful spells.

Thinking of playing a teleportation wizard, but open to suggestions. I don't need to be broken just fun.

So here I am asking for suggestions. I already think I am grabbing the cure light and maybe heal spells, But no ideas for anything else.

I am building something very much like this for a new campaign.

couple questions

why fiend sight? seems like a waste of feats.

not totally sure but you would be better off putting dmg on the amulet of mighty fists. IE frost and acid. that way at lvl 11 you are hitting for 3d6+18+1d6 of fire frost and acid each. the reason for this is unless you find spells you are only ever going to have 3 attacks per round.. you need each hit to matter. +2 to hit isn't going to be be as important as knowing when to power attack and not to.

feats to consider
dazzling display. I know its a full round action but think of it this way.. 1st round you cant get to the baddys so you blow rage as a swift action and display how awesome you are by growing in size and popping claws. also consider at lvl 1 getting the monstrous mask feat which gives you +5 intimidate vs humanoids.

rending claws is another possibility. not really a fan though.

I have a major hearing loss, but I do not use ASL. Lip reading is huge for me. As Red pointed out its about context. When I don't have my hearing aid in Im deaf and lip reading only helps a little, with my aid suddenly im hearing way better then I should.

a deaf oracle if played right could be a lot of fun. just make sure the Group with the dm agrees on what being deaf is.. its really interesting to see what people think when they have never met someone who is. A deaf or hard of hearing person will get what they need across to anyone no matter what.

Im looking to build a Tiefling Bloodrager who uses the bite from the background and the claws from the demon bloodline. Id like focus on natural attacks and grappling if it can be done. My questions are

1 what feats should i look into?

2 what stats should i focus on?

3 gear?

4 can you use a touch attack spell in grapple with a natural attack? i know you can use a natural attack with a touch spell.. just not sure about grapple. also does gaining a grapple count for touching to set off a held spell??

if I understand the ability right What is there to really fear?? charge in tickle the big baddy so for a turn he cant curb stop yer fighter.. Then run way next turn.

ok thank you for clearing that up.

the wording is "these claws are treated as natural weapons, allowing you to make 2 claw attacks as a full attack using your full base attack bonus"

ok related question. I was thinking of building a char based off the same idea, but for a homegame.. While raging can the bloodrager use both claws and his bite <from background>?? the wording seems to say just claws..

Id argue that they shouldn't live long. The blood mix isn't healthy and they burn out much faster then humans.

ahh thanks for clearing that up.

ive been told you can manyshot a flurry. not totally sure about that though. Rapid shot is a head scratcher though.

not really sure sitting by while someone has very bad things done to them is lawful. they both did this. max goes back to eating dog food while this happened. I don't view chaoic as evil or even selfish.. its more about self and independence. cg <or any lawful really>wouldn't have let It happen ce would have joined in.. CN would look at it from what do I gain from getting into this.. from this I get that max is totally cn and the book of eli guy could be TN but not lawful.

id say both mad max and the guy from the book of eli. yes they do good things but they seem to be forced into it more then any real desire to do good.
