History:
Raised in a time that has only known the WPK and a Korea lead by Great Leader Kim, Sang-mi's world experience was shallow. Raised in a small village near Kaesong, She spent much of her early life working along side her mother on their family's farm. Her father, a member of military, was stationed at various posts along the DMZ and most recently Kijong-dong.
Her father's position later in life allowed for some privilidge to his family, namely in the form of formal education and access to an income that allowed for some simple pleasures. In 1983, at the age of 10, She and her family moved to Pyongyang and lived in a small apartment. They did this to take advantage of the educational opporitunities and to better facilitate her father's position.
While in the capital Sang became enamoured with performance, and in particular the movies produced from Hong-kong. By '87, it was obvious to her family that Sang-mi studies were not going as planned, far too distracted by her interest in Kung-fu and cinema, so using his contacts with the CCP her father had her sent to The Spring and Autumn Drama School (a Peking Opera School, a rival to the one Actor Jacki Chan had been trained at).
The time spent at the school was transformative on the Young Sang, who became increasingly aware of a vastly more complex and frankly richly diverse world that had been masked by her home country. She took the name Jun Xifeng (Pheonix of truth) in effort to hide her nationality, afraid of the judgement of others. She would use this name until moving to the United states in '92
In 1991 it was becoming apparent that Kim Il-sung was now in his declining years, his son; Kim Jong-il was having the way paved for his succession. This would most certainly mean reform, especially in the military. As a radical pro-british hong-kong actress it was becoming obvious to her, and her family, that if she were to return home she would most certainly be arrested and sent to work camps for 're-education'. In fact her correspondeces had been monitored by the KCP and the incoming Jong-il regime and just months before Sang-mi made her flight to the US, her father and family had been 'relocated'... their last letter merely read one thing: "Run".
With the help of Madame Fan Fok-Fa (of the Drama School), through contact she had made in the US film industry, Chu Sang-mi was secreted away to US. She first traveled to Hawaii where she spent a year and worked to get her Greencard then afterward made her way to California then further into the interior. While Las Angeles provided her the greatest opporitunity, her fear of repriasal from the fatherland drove her deeper into her new home country.

Special Abilities
------------------ --Celebrity-- Big Draw You can always find a place to perform, usually in a nightclub or bar but possibly at a festival or theatre, or even at a private party. At such a place, you receive free lodging and food of a modest or comfortable standard (depending on the quality of the establishment), as long as you perform each night. In addition, your performance makes you something of a local figure. When strangers recognize you in an area where you have performed, they typically take a liking to you.
--Class-- Melee Smash You add half your proficiency bonus to all melee weapon damage rolls.
Action Surge you can push yourself beyond your normal limits for a moment. On your turn, you can take one additional action on top of your regular action and a possible bonus action.
Once you use this feature, you must finish a short or long rest before you can use it again. Starting at 17th level, you can use it twice before a rest, but only once on the same turn.
Advanced Class-- Martial Artist Ki Starting at 3rd level, your training allows you to harness your inner store of energy known as ki. Your access to this energy is represented by a number of ki points. You begin with 3 ki points at 3rd level, and gain an additional point at each level.
Flurry of Blows, Patient Defense, and Step of the Wind
Martial Arts At 3rd level, you can use Dexterity instead of Strength for the attack and damage rolls of your unarmed strikes and martial arts weapons. In addition, your unarmed strike damage increases to 1d6. At 10th level, it increases again to 1d8, and at 18th it increases to 1d10.
Once per turn, when you hit a creature with an unarmed strike or martial arts weapon, you can impose one of the following effects on that target:
It must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw against your Ki save DC or be knocked prone.
It must make a Strength saving throw against your Ki save DC. If it fails, you can push it up to 15 feet away from you.
It can’t take reactions until the end of your next turn.
Unarmored Defense Starting at 3rd level, while you are wearing no armor and not wielding a shield, your AC equals 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Wisdom modifier.
--Feat-- Martial Artist +1 to attack rolls on unarmed strikes
Stealth Expertise double proficiency bonus
