Was looking at the Superstitious barbarian and also the bloodrager of arcane blood line but multiclass before he gets magic. Also had thought about the bag of holding. Can't hold items or anyone else's weapons but functions like a scabbard for him. Never thought of the magus idea, sounds cool. But the anti magic part is only on his swords, he can't cast Antimagic circle or anything like that. ![]()
Hi all, got a campaign coming up and struggling to make my character work. Based heavy off Asta from Black Clover. For those who don't watch the show, he is a magicless kid in a world where magic is kinda an ever day thing. Everyone can use magic even if only a little. But Asta can't use any at all. But soon he gets a Grimore (Think that's the spelling) where he can pull a huge black sword from it and the blade has antimagic properties and spell reflective ones as well. Later he can pull a second smaller blade from the book as well. While I'm aware anime into pathfinder doesn't mix well, I'm happy to alter some things to make builds easy. His big sword is more sized to a greatsword but he weilds it one handed at times, so maybe I use a Basterd sword instead. And his smaller sword is like a long sword, so I'll use a short sword instead. The biggest issue is the spell reflect AND the anti-magic of the blades. The campaign starts at lv1 and may finish at lv10 but the dm said we may proceed past that if the party wants to continue. Any ideas? Thx in advance guys. ![]()

Question, in what order do you execute the actions? And if the monk's dirty trick goes first, does the goblin's attack suffer from the condition? Now, also, riddle me this. Say the Monk's ranger ally has also readied an action against the goblin. To shoot him with her crossbow if he moves towards her monk friend. What would they order of execution be then? Sorry, I'm still noobish if it's obvious. ![]()
So. In my current campaign my char is almost always at death's door due to being the group tank and well, You get the idea. So I have been swimming through the content of pathfinder and saw two class/archetypes. First was the Devilish Dancer archetype from the bard class. Then I saw the Urban archatypes from the Barbarian, Bloodrager and Skald classes. So my question, along with loads others but one step at a time. Can, let's say a Devilish Dancer/Urban Barbarian use both Bardic performance and Controlled Rage? Controlled Rage states thst it doesn't stop the use of chsrisma skills. But me being a noob at this, I believe yes I can but would like to check before I end up with a faulty character after my current one dies off. ![]()
So, been toying and playing with this idea and not too sure if it would work. While making some characters of a rainy day. I found the Sky Stalker Archetype for the ranger, who gets a Hippogriff mount/Companion at -1 druid equivalent. Now I then saw the Prestige Class Mammoth Rider. Who gains a Huge mount at Lv1 (Character lv10 if I get it asap). Now, does this mean that my character gains a Huge Hippogriff or has a hippogriff and a huge Mount? ![]()
But yeah, I'll heed you words and leave the group. Shame really, I'm not fussed about the system, just wanted a group to meet up with and have a good time. Can't play online cause my folks have the hearing of a f!@*ing bat of something cause I have to whisper or type and that is still too loud for them. ![]()
Fair, fair all. Another thing grating on me was the fact this world the DM has cooked up, is a odd blend of medieval and fantasy. And the group through words around that I'm consistently asking for 'plain English' terms. A scene that should take 20-30 mins often takes twice that long cause I've not a clue what half the things in the room are cause the Dm is using super accurate names for everything. Like he'd describe a iron gate as a portcullis for example, but say you didn't know that the hell a portcullis was? So you ask. Now do this for 2-3 times a sentence. I feel like a toddler that has walked into a master's degree is advance science. ![]()
Well, the campaign stops at lv4, and no, I don't know the group well. I know the rouge is better, and his +15 to stealth checks is amazing. But my char leaves no trail, so I autopass any stealth checks for being followed. And I'm not allowed to change her alignment, cause it brakes the DM's story and makes more work for him to alter it to fit. I think he is a elite DM, and is use to groups of players with 5+ years exp each. But I'm a guy of influence. I really struggled to pick a char to start with without picking it cause of a gimmick. I'm unable to think up an entire story of my character and his/her goals at the drop of a hat...which all the other players can do on a whim. Honestly puts me off the game completely being so inept at the basics of character generation. I mean, I can build chars, do it all the time to then know how to do it. Bur the chars are soulless. I'm naturally a reserved person, rarely so emotion unless I speak up. So if I play a char like that...i know it's gonna be a boring char now. Cause I followed the advice of the DM and made her like me...personality wise. ![]()
It's a group from a club. Only know one of them outside the game and only meet him once or twice (The rogue/alchemist). I noticed that our wizard of the group is having the same issues. Meh, maybe I'll ask if she get get some bad new from home or something (Like a messenger bird from mother (Who is also a druid) saying that her dad is dying or something. So she leaves the group to see him and that way they don't have to deal with a playerless pc. If I'd of known the group where like this, I'd of picked a Cleric, war priest, inquisitor or something like that. But, yeah leaving the group sounds like the best plan. ![]()
So I've joined this group and been meeting up for about 1-2 months. And I was new and noobish to the game. So I made a character and while I've not completed any of her life goals...I'm bored. Only 3rd level and a druid with the domain of fire. Had this awesome and simple but full back story for her and well, since joining the group I've noticed we always do what the cavalier or the rogue wants to do. I want to check this cave out or try and scout ahead but one of those two always pushed me aside (In character or ooc, sometimes both) and either does it for me or we do what they want. Also doesn't help the party is righteous and noble while my char is more neutral. Doing what she thinks is right for the group but mostly the help herself as well. I asked the DM to alter my char or reroll entirely and was not allowed. Unless I take a 2 level hit. So the new char would be 1st level. Which seems harsh to me. Am I overreacting? As said I'm a noob to role-play, and am shy and have a self image issue. I want to play and love the ability to see a magical bit dangerous world. But when I feel soo out of place...i sometimes struggle to force myself to turn up to sessions. ![]()
As the title says, looking to make a character based on the fighters from the videogame Bloody Roar. Now I've done some digging and thought of a brawler (Monk was too...lawful for the character idea I had), crossclassed with the hunter (Feral Hunter archetype). For those that don't know what Bloody Roar characters are like, they are fighters (Like street Fighter, Tekken, etc) that can transform into anthropomorphic animals. E.g. Tigers, Bears, Wolves, even a elephant! The character was a student of a old/rare fighting style That harnesses the power of the spirits of his chosen animal (Or the spirit of the animal choose him). Or he has a rare form of Lycanthrope Disease that triggers when his adrenaline rises (I.e. enters combat). Any advise, alternatives, comments? Sign in to create or edit a product review. |
